Chapter 7: 07. Aaron Encounters His First Magical Beast.
Meanwhile, a look of acknowledgment shone on Diana's face, and she walked closer to him, wondering about something that she had noticed during their sparring.
"Why did you do it?" She asked.
"Do what?"
"Your body couldn't keep up with my pace so why didn't you yield even though you knew you couldn't win against me."
"Maybe it's because I didn't want to lose?"
A smirk appeared on Diana's face as she recognized his strength and determination to succeed.
"You're stubborn," she said. "That's good because you'll definitely need that if you want to survive out there," Diana offered him a hand, pulling him up with an ease that even surprised Aaron.
He nodded in understanding once he was on his feet and watched Diana return the wooden sword she was holding. "That will be all for today."
She didn't say anything else but instead left the training room. However, Aaron continued to train on his own, doing his best to make sure that his body adapted to the weight of a real sword.
That evening, Aaron ventured outside the mansion and walked all the way to the edge of a forest on the outskirts of the capital. The town's walls weren't too far from the forest and he didn't intend on going too deep into the forest today.
All he wanted to do was to see the kind of dangers he would be up against in this world.
He wouldn't do anything drastic like upsetting a demonic beast if he came face to face with one, instead, his plan this evening was simply to observe and learn how these demonic beasts behaved when they weren't trying to kill a target.
This was just his wildlife biologist instinct kicking in because a part of him was still interested in seeing what the magical beasts in this world looked like.
Since Aaron had arrived in his new world, he had learned that there were two types of beasts in this world aside from the ordinary beasts or creatures he was familiar with back on Earth.
The two other types of beasts were the magical beasts and the demonic beasts.
The demonic beasts, as their names suggested, were feral creatures whose primary instinct was to kill anything and everything in sight. While the magical beasts were equally as dangerous as the demonic beasts, a magical beast would never attack unless provoked.
Anyways, Aaron was only interested in finding either a magical or a demonic beast.
Since this was his first time venturing into this forest, Aaron didn't want to spend too long, he would simply observe it for a few minutes, and then he would note a few things before returning back to the mansion.
This was what Aaron had in mind as he ventured into the forest, but while walking, Aaron suddenly heard how silent the forest was.
It was getting dark, and dangerous creatures could be lurking around every corner of the forest, but Aaron was determined to carry out his goal because he knew now was the best time to observe either a magical beast or a demonic beast
However, to his surprise, Aaron suddenly heard the faint cry of a creature breaking through the silence of the forest. He froze and his eyes scanned his immediate surroundings, trying to figure out the direction that the sound of the creature came from.
The cry was a soft, animalistic wail that sounded like the creature was in pain. Even as a wildlife biologist, Aaron had never heard anything like that before.
He followed the sound being made by the creature and found a small, fox-like creature lying on the grass. The creature seemed like it could barely breathe and Aaron could see a puddle of blood underneath the little fox.
Being a person who was used to raising and treating dangerous creatures in his past life, Aaron's instinct kicked in and he knelt in front of the little fox.
The creature looked like the normal fox he was used to seeing on Earth, so this meant that the little guy was actually an ordinary creature of the forest.
However, Aaron also noticed that the flank of the fox had been torn, hence the reason it was losing a lot of blood.
"What happened to you?" Aaron murmured as his hand reached out to touch the little fox, but just before his hand could come in contact with the fox's body, Aaron's vision blurred a bit and a floating blue screen appeared before him.
[Congratulations to the host for unlocking The Beast Evolution System.]
"Huh?" Aaron was taken aback by what was displayed in front of him.
"What is this?" He asked in confusion, but the system didn't reply; instead, a new screen was displayed in front of him.

The system's notification vanished as quickly as it appeared and Aaron blinked twice, wondering what he had just seen.
"Bond energy?"
"What is that?"
"And, what is the Beast Evolution System?"
These were a few of the questions spiraling around his mind, but Aaron noticed that the fox's condition was becoming worse, so he redirected his focus back to the fox.
He wondered what he needed to do to transfer the energy the system spoke of.
He tried repeating the word 'Transfer' in his mind, but nothing seemed to be happening. He tried a few other words as well but the results were still the same, so he decided to place his hand on the beast.
The Glimmerfox noticed Aaron's hands approaching it, but it was too weak to run or defend itself, so it simply closed its eyes, accepting its fate of being killed by a human.
