Chapter 6: Chapter 5: Meet the Others
The pain began to disappear or at least that's how it felt after a few moments of Rika holding onto me. My body adjusting to this whole thing is extremely painful, how many more times will I have to endure?
Enduring this multiple times would be way too much for me to handle. Maybe I'm being dramatic about it but this just isn't something I'm used to whatsoever.
"Feel better Nori?" Rika asks with a bit of concern in her voice.
"Yeah I think I'll be okay for now, maybe it's best for me to get some rest." Nori responds while standing up.
I got away from her hug and went to the room I had been staying in this whole time, it wasn't terrible but I felt off. I've been by myself for a good while now so I wasn't used to this.
Friends stopped hanging out, Grandpa only came by here and there to make sure I wasn't dead or having issues, and video games were my main comfort.
He sat down on the bed and looked around the room. Was this all where I'm supposed to be?
Destined to fight against whatever awaits me out there, destined to do something I never saw myself doing in the first place. Mom, Dad, why did I have to be here?
Dad was the last one around when Mom died and I didn't understand what happened, my memories of everything have been a blur. I wish I could remember what happened to him but I don't have the slightest idea.
Nori laid back on the bed and closed his eyes for the night, various visions of things began to pop into his head but before he could fully see anything, Rika woke him up. The next day has arrived.
"You okay Nori? You look like you were crying." Rika asks with a bit of worry in her voice.
I don't understand why I would be crying since I don't even remember anything that was in my dreams. This was something that happened quite often for me and I never did find out why that was.
Nori wipes his tears before speaking. "I'm okay, this just happens sometimes." Nori responds while standing up.
"As long as you're okay. Let's not keep anyone else waiting." Rika suggests while beginning to lead the way.
I followed behind her through another portal that took us back to that same room that I met Aki in. I'm guessing that I'll be meeting everyone in here just like I met him here but this is such a weird place to meet.
Well, I guess it's not really a weird place but it's weird to me since I don't know much about it. This is only my second time in this room after all.
The familiar man wearing knight like armor entered the room, but no one else accompanied him. "I apologize but everyone is quite busy so we'll have to introduce you to them another time. But is he ready Rika?" Aki asks after apologizing.
To think that I was a bit excited about meeting more people, how disappointing. Maybe it's because they could all be new friends of mine after being alone for awhile.
I'd be nervous as all hell but at least they would be some badasses that I met here while saving the world.
"He's as ready as he can be. You want to throw him into the field don't you?" Rika questions while staring intensely at him.
Within seconds a portal formed behind Nori and he felt himself getting pushed instantly. "Good luck Kid." Aki says before Nori fully goes through.
"W---Wait!!!" Nori shouts as everything disappears around him.
No no no!! It felt as if I was falling for a minute before I suddenly hit the ground. He was now in a small town that appeared to be abandoned.
All Prophets are thrown into the chaos as it's a way to test their strength, their limits, and even the mentality they have. Only the strongest will prevail through the hardest of trials.
I don't see anything dangerous here but this place is definitely not familiar to me by any means. I'm in some random town in the middle of nowhere with no idea on how to go forward.
I'm assuming that Aki wants to test me to see if I'm able to handle myself in one of these fights right? Well he's definitely going to be shocked by the fact that I can't handle myself here!
"Aki this was fun but bring me back!" Nori shouts at the sky.
Rummage. Rummage. Something could be heard digging around in the distance.
Huh? What the hell is that, something else is out here with me. It's actually really quiet here, where is everyone?
Nori looked around and began to notice that blood covered the streets of the town he had appeared in. Bodies of those who once lived here were up against the walls and on the streets.
Haha. Yeah right! This is all just setup to scare me right? Some sort of tactic to see how I react to dead bodies or something.
A creature emerged from the shadows, almost the size of one of the houses before them. Multiple arms came out from its body, all different lengths and sizes, multiple eyes on its face, and a giant mouth with razor sharp teeth had opened up.
"What are you..." Nori says quietly while staring at the monstrosity before him.
How am I supposed to stop something like that? He can feel his whole body shaking as the fear paralyzed him.
I'm not going to be able to do anything about this thing before me, I'm going to die...
It slowly began to make it's way towards him as he stood there paralyzed, not knowing how to make himself move. Would anyone be able to face such a thing without fear the first time?
He tried to force his legs to move but realized that he barely moved at all.
"Come on!" Nori shouts with frustration in his voice.
