Mysterious Wife: Of The Cold CEO and Mafia Boss

Chapter 22: Dr Anti

The next day, Alice stepped out of the bathroom, her hair damp and clinging to her neck as she casually toweled it dry. The faint scent of her shampoo filled the air when her phone suddenly rang, the screen displaying the familiar number of her aunt, Mia, the only person who she still considered as a family to her, much better than her so called family...

Her Aunt Mia was from her maternal side, she didn't know how she was related to her mom but mostly knew that she was her godmother at most, when she had gone abroad under, her Aunt's guidance had she risen to this stage...She respected and loved her Aunt Mia very much....With a sigh, she accepted the call, holding it to her ear.

"Aunt Mia, how are you doing?" Alice asked, casually. Still drying her hair as she spoke.

"I'm fine, Alice," came Aunt Mia's calm, familiar voice. "I was informed about the business proposal and your meeting with Mr. Hunt. My people told me you were... less than diplomatic. And that you disrespected him without boundaries.."

Alice rolled her eyes, walking over to sit on the edge of her bed. "He was the one being unreasonable, Aunt Mia. Mr Hunt seems to think he can toy with anyone he wants just because of who he is. He's making this entire process difficult for no reason...although we have personal grudges, he's bringing it into business therefore making things to escalate."

"You need to understand something, Alice," Mia said, her tone dropping to something more serious. "Mr Hunt is not someone you can afford to make an enemy of If not you wouldn't know how you died. If he doesn't accept your business proposal, it could do more harm than good. It's better to have him as an ally than as an adversary. Do whatever it takes to make him agree."

Alice frowned, irritated by the weight of her aunt's warning. "You're suggesting I... please him, Aunt? In what way?"

"Whatever way works," Mia said firmly. "The proposal is crucial. If that means you have to compromise, then do it. Keep your pride intact if you can, but make sure he accepts. I don't care what it takes...you have to make sure it happens, for your own good."

"Alright..Aunt I'll try my best.."

Alice replied sighing her annoyance already flaring up but she managed to handle it.."Well u have to try your outmost best...by the way how's my dear Emily?" Aunt Mia tone was filled with concern and genuine joy as she spoke of Emily

"She's doing pretty well Aunt...she often asked of you always insisting on speaking with you " she casually laid a white lie making Aunt Mia lips twitch when had that little brat Emily ever cared about her the way Alice put it... "You don't have to lie to make me happy Alice" She retorted smiling

"I'm not Aunt,,It just slipped out of my mouth " Alice replied whole heartedly..

"Hmm.. like I believe you.." "You don't have to Aunt..well bye I have to prepare to Please.... Mr Hunt Goodbye..." with that she hung up

Her aunt's words lingered even after they exchanged their goodbyes and Alice hung up. She sat in silence, staring at the screen of her phone. Who exactly was this Jermin Hunt, that even her unstoppable, unflinching aunt spoke of him with such caution? Alice's brow furrowed. This man was surely going to be trouble, she thought, feeling a pulse of frustration. But if Mia thought the proposal was this important, then she had to put up with Jermin's antics—just this once.

With a resigned sigh, she began searching online, looking for ways to negotiate and persuade without appearing desperate or losing her dignity. The only consistent suggestion that popped up? Seduction.

Her lips pressed into a thin line. The idea was distasteful, but it seemed to be the only feasible solution if she didn't want to play by Jermin's rules. She made up her mind, pushing back her frustration and heading to her closet. If she was going to try seduction, she would do it on her terms.

That moment, Alice dressed carefully. She chose a tight, full-length gown, its smooth fabric hugging her curves. The dress was sleeveless, revealing her toned arms, and a daring slit ran up her thigh, stopping just short of indecent. The dress's dark red hue contrasted sharply with her pale skin, accentuating the curves of her figure. She let her hair fall in soft waves around her shoulders, adding a touch of light makeup that highlighted her features—just enough to make her eyes look darker, more mysterious, and her lips a shade of deep red that almost matched her dress. Adding a touch of sophistication to her already beautiful natural face..With a small, elegant clutch in hand, she stepped out, exuding a cold and distant allure.

When Alice arrived at the towering Hunt's cooperation, heads turned, and whispers followed her every step. Some looked away, embarrassed to have been caught staring, while others gazed on, mesmerized by the effortless way she carried herself. She ignored them all, her heels clicking across the marble floor as she stepped into the elevator, pressing the button for the top floor.

When she reached Jermin's office, just as she was about to push open, the door she heard voices inside. She paused, her curiosity piqued despite this not being her usual self. She wasn't one to eavesdrop, but something compelled her to listen. She leaned in slightly..

"Sir, we've doubled the offer for Dr. Anti's consultation," she heard Marcus's voice say. "But she still hasn't responded. And we haven't been able to track her down."

"Triple it," Jermin's voice came, cold and unyielding. "I don't care how much it costs. We need her, Marcus."
