Naagin (rise of the serpent)

Melissa growled angrily as she stomped her feet on the ground. She was undeniably angry and got even more angrier immediately her gaze turned upon me.

I stared back at her , silently mocking her with a smirk.

"What are you looking at, dummy?" She called out angrily as she stared down at me.

I chuckled mockingly.

"I'm looking at a spoilt bitch who I got to know is my sister".

A loud rumble could be heard from Melissa's chest as she sent me a glare. She was really angry at my words even to the point that her eyes gave a blue glow.

"Can't believe my dad allowed me to stay in the human world to train a slut like you".

Melissa mumbled loudly to herself.

I sighed while shaking my heard sideways.

Melissa sat down on the steps that led into the temple. She pouted like a spoilt girl while giving me glares.

"Tell me" I spoke making her glare harder at me. "Why are you always so against me. Last time I checked, I didn't do you anything bad".

Melissa hissed.

"I'm not against you, Naagin. I just don't like you for a sister and the better you know it, the best it is for me".

"Okay then, suit yourself".

After that both I and Melissa stared at each other for what seemed like hours. None of us knowing what was going on in the minds of the other.

Melissa spoke up after we had our short staring contest.

"Let's be on our way. I would like to get back to old lady Papirus's hut before dinner".

"How I wanted you to say those words. I'm seriously starving after such a long day".

Melissa hissed angrily as she walked passed me, heading into the trees that darkness settled in. I sighed again as I followed her.

"Hey, wait for me".

I called out as I quickened my pace and catching up with her easily. Once I was beside her, I tried to keep my distance as we walked in silence. She didn't say anything as we continued our journey through the darkness filled forest.

I didn't know how this idea of Hijirar would make Melissa get along with me. Because, looking at her,it only seems she doesn't want me as a sister. I,on the other hand have no problem with her being my sister,as long as she's ready to be nice, I will too.

Thinking about it, back at the temple, Arizona had entered another dimension. She was directly communicating with Hijirar. Somehow, I feel curious about what they were talking about and besides the fact that I know the truth,it isn't really bad if I feel like there is more to know than what I already know. Once I am done with bringing Huck to his death, I will go back to Aiden city and start living with my grandmother, again.

My gaze went up to Melissa who was just beside me. She continued walking through the forest, one could see that a lot of things were going through her mind.

"What are you thinking about?" I suddenly asked, quite curious. It wouldn't be wrong if I start a nice conversation with her.

"Nothing".

Her answer was pretty short and that gave me the idea she didn't want to talk to me.

Seems she's still not over the idea of Hijirar wanting her to stay in the human world and train me.

"I get it if you don't want to talk".

I spoke quite politely and I got a chuckle in return.

She stopped walking and stared at me. I also stopped walking, staring at her as well.

"If you want to talk,how about we transform into our snake form?" She asked with a smile.

I was sure to see the little bit of excitement in her smile.

"Okay then".

With that decided, Melissa transformed into a large blue Cobra. She was beautiful while in full snake form and her snake scales glowed in the dark forest.

I stared wide eyed at her magestic snake form. She threw me a snake kind of smile. Then I heard a voice in my head.

'Now your turn. Transform, besides, I don't want a human for a sister'.

I clenched my fists at the voice in my head and I swear I heard her chuckle.

Now I see it. I see the reason why she doesn't like me. The reason why she doesn't like me at all, is the fact that I was born a human. Then if that's the case,then let me show her that I am now a snake.

Allowing energy to flow through my body, I transformed into my snake form. My golden scales, glowing in the darkness. My Python body was quite larger than Melissa's Cobra form. Also, I noticed that I had night vision and it was as a result of being in my snake form.

Then I heard a voice in my head again.

'Wow! You are really huge and a lot magestic'.

I smiled and I answered back.

'You are not bad, yourself in snake form'.

'Then let's be on our way. We are going to old lady Papirus's hut with our snake form for fast movement'.

I nodded and immediately went into motion. Melissa also went into motion as we both slithered further through the Umuguor forest.

I slithered through trees making my motion faster. Melissa, seeing that I was quickening my speed,she also quickened her speed.

She seemed happier and excited now that we both were in snake form. It seems, Hijirar's idea of making the both of us get along was walking perfectly.

As we slithered through the forest, I was lost in thought as always. I remember what old lady Papirus had told me when she had communicated with Zeph, the leader of the spirit rabbits. She had said something about Melissa visiting Ovie. That brings the question of how they knew each other.

I think it's the best time to ask her that question. No better time than now.

'Did you visit the hut earlier today?'

I asked, slowing down abruptly.

Melissa also slowed down and was surprised at my question.

'Yeah I did. How did you know?'.

'Old lady Papirus told me. She said you visited Ovie'.

'Oh. You are quite correct and also, he's a friend that I met in the forest. I saved his butts from Inka'.

'Thanks for saving him anyways. He didn't tell me about you but it seems you are nice'.

'Yeah, I am nice to have saved his butts. But tell me,is he your boyfriend?'

Melissa's question really cut me off guard. But she was right.

I did like Ovie and he liked me too. But he still isn't my boyfriend and that is fact. Though, I have slept with him twice and it isn't that bad. But still,we are not together. We are not a thing even though we are madly in love with each other.

Maybe, I would convince him to tell me how he feels about me and request that I be his girlfriend.

But on second thought, he had once told me about his feelings. I think that was when he was stabbed by Praise. Yeah, I can vividly remember that but still, he didn't ask me to be his girlfriend.

'Hey,are you still there?' Melissa asked jolting me out of my thoughts.

'Huh. Oh, yeah. You were saying?'.

I slithered around a big tree.

Melissa chuckled softly and she slithered side by side with me.

'You spaced out for a minute, there. I was asking if he is your boyfriend. I mean, Ovie'.

'Not actually'.

'But you've kissed him or let me say,had sex with him' Melissa smirked mischievously.

I sighed before I replied.

'I have had sex with him. Actually twice'.

Melissa stared at me,wide eyed. Surprise was well written on her face. She raised her large Cobra head high as she stared down at me.

'What?..... It isn't bad that I had sex with him. I was horny,so was he and we did it'.

Melissa recovered from her little show of shock. She brought her snake head down as she continued slithering further and increasing her pace. I did my best to slither side by side with her.

'You are quite unbelievable' she said.

I laughed hysterically in her head and she also laughed as well.

Not to lie, I was having fun slithering with my sister. No doubt, she was having fun.

Once our laughter died down,she asked a question that got me thinking.

'Naagin' she called out in my head. 'Once all this is done, once you have killed Huck and set free Umuguor community, what would you do then?'

I smirked sweetly in her head and she Chuckled.

'I would return back to my old life. Living as a human with my grandmother, finish my education then get a job'.

'That's awesome. Besides, you have already planned your life after this whole thing'.

Melissa's words seemed to hurt me somehow but I tried to ignore it. Though that's a fake lie anyways.

We both got to the place were the two paths meet. Slithering out of the first path, I took a look at the second path that leads to Arizona's corn field. Remember old lady Papirus had told me about Arizona's corn field she had cultivated.

I decided to ask Melissa for the reason why, Arizona had cultivated the corn field.

'Can I ask you a question?' I asked.

'Sure'.

'What was Arizona's original reason for cultivating the corn field at the other path?'

Melissa laughed softly in my head.

'You see, my mom loves agriculture especially since she was once the daughter of the king of Umuguor community. Also,she cultivated the corn field for the purpose,as an abode to little spirits'.

I nodded at Melissa's answer. Now I see that Arizona's main purpose was because she loves agriculture and also to serve as an abode to little spirits. She's kinda wonderful and kind for doing such an action.

We continued our journey through the forest and in no time we could see the top of the hill from a long distance.

As time passed by,a loud hooting sound was heard. It was the hooting of an owl,an extremely large owl from my own perspective. Both I and Melissa stopped, hearing the hooting of the large owl.

I looked around looking for the owl, but I couldn't find it. But, the loud hooting of the owl continued. I gave a loud hiss to warn the owl for it to stay clear. Melissa chuckled at my snake like action.

Melissa coiled her Cobra body, ready to sprang up and lung at the owl. She was ready to attack it,in case it did attack us. But instead, the owl hooting sound continued,much to the irritation of Melissa.

She uncoiled her large Cobra snake form and raised her head up high. She roared thunderously that shook the ground. The vibration of the ground gave me a jelly type of feeling.

The trees swayed as the blue colured Cobra roared thunderously with power. Black crows that were once perching on the tree tops, could be seen flying away in different directions.

After Melissa's thunderous roar,her snake head turned to me and she bared her perfect set of Cobra fangs at me. I didn't flinch at, it's not like she's going to hurt me.

Just then,a large owl which I sensed to be a spirit appeared in the sky. It gave a loud hoot and literally descended down from the sky. As it landed,a wave of strong wind seemed to blow against my eyes and scales. I closed my eyes and opened it right after.

When I opened my eyes, a large old owl stood beside Melissa's blue snake form. Immediately, I recognized the owl.

The large and huge owl was that owl that had told me about the old lady at the hut. That was the time when I and Ovie had already decided on leaving the forest after I had saved Ovie from Praise's men.

Melissa immediately transformed back to her human form and I followed suit.

"Hello, old owl. Seems you are in good shape" Melissa said while patting the owl's feathers.

"Hi, Lady Melissa. I'm at your service".

Melissa chuckled.

The old owl's gaze rested on me and it sent me a friendly smile. Melissa's gaze followed the owl's gaze and it rested on me.

"Let me do the introduction. This is Naagin. She's my younger sister" Melissa introduced while smiling at me.

I smiled back and I couldn't help but feel warm in my heart.

"Oh!! She's your sister. That's wonderful, I have met her before".
