"I'm checking!"

Yoichi's face was serious as he spoke. Over a millennium, he had thoroughly studied Kaguya. Despite her immense strength, she was woefully naive and easy to deceive.

Splitting her chakra into two parts was originally intended for later recovery. However, after Hagoromo and Hamura grew up, she seemed to forget about it and instead pinned her hopes on the White Zetsu army to counter the Ōtsutsuki clan.

To put it bluntly, her limited perspective made her somewhat naive. Even with her near-invincible power in the ninja world, her two children were manipulated by a toad.

"The chakra in these two kids feels off. It's slightly different from yours, almost as if it rejects your chakra, like it's carrying someone else's will."

"Someone else's will?"

"Exactly. I can't explain it in detail, but it's like this."

Yoichi demonstrated by transmitting his chakra into Kaguya's body and then severing the connection.

"You also have chakra?" Kaguya asked, surprised. Chakra was supposed to be unique to the Ōtsutsuki clan. She and Isshiki had investigated this planet thoroughly. While some of the natives were quite capable, they were inherently weak and relied on external means to use energy.

However, Kaguya quickly understood Yoichi's point. His chakra, upon entering her body, felt alien and resistant—almost impossible to wield. Worse, it actively rejected her.

With a wave of her hand, Kaguya expelled Yoichi's chakra from her body.

Though she desired more chakra, this kind would do her more harm than good.

"So, you're saying Hagoromo and Hamura's chakra isn't mine? But I clearly split it from myself..."

"And where did your chakra originally come from?"

"It was—"

Kaguya hesitated, about to mention the Divine Tree fruit, but she stopped herself. She still didn't fully trust Yoichi.

Yoichi continued, "Don't underestimate my intelligence network. You must have eaten the fruit to gain such powerful chakra. But before it ripened, you must have done something to it, which caused a portion of the chakra to reject you."

"Something I did...?" Kaguya murmured, her confidence shaken. She thought back carefully until a memory surfaced.

When she had trapped Isshiki and consumed half his body, he had screamed that she wouldn't succeed, that she couldn't claim the chakra fruit.

Could it be Isshiki?

"It seems you've remembered something. That's likely the reason why this chakra rejects you," Yoichi said, not knowing what exactly she recalled but confident that sowing seeds of doubt was enough.

'It was Isshiki!' Kaguya thought, anger flaring in her heart alongside a hint of fear.

Even though she had fed Isshiki to the Divine Tree, could he still pose a threat to her?

"You're right!" Yoichi suddenly declared.

Kaguya froze, staring at Yoichi in confusion. What was he referring to?

"Your enemy probably did this. But you think you've killed him, right? Are you sure he's really dead?"

Yoichi's words carried a subtle yet persuasive undertone. Because they were grounded in truth, they struck a nerve.

"Think about your enemy's abilities. What would he do in his final moments? If he were truly dead, would it still be possible for him to harm you? It's entirely likely that he survived!"

Kaguya's eyes narrowed, fear blooming in her heart.

Isshiki possessed two powers: Sukunahikona and Daikokuten. If he had used Sukunahikona to shrink his body and then used space-time transfer to escape from the Ten-Tails' mouth...

She clenched her fists. If that were the case, Isshiki might still be alive. This could explain why the Divine Tree fruit felt so impure.

And Isshiki also had the Kāma. Kaguya recalled that he had never used it, so perhaps he had escaped and planned to resurrect through it.

If he succeeded, Kaguya would face significant danger. Worse, if the Ōtsutsuki clan discovered her betrayal, she would be hunted relentlessly by multiple clan members.

"I can help you!"

Yoichi suddenly spoke, breaking her train of thought.

His words startled Kaguya. She asked in confusion, "Why?"

"Because I want you to become my wife, so I must help you."

"Wife?" Kaguya repeated, puzzled. She had never encountered the concept before. The Ōtsutsuki clan, though humanoid, had no tradition of marriage or reproduction through such bonds.

"A wife is a concept unique to this planet," Yoichi explained. "It's a bond where a man and woman become partners, supporting each other. When danger arises, they combine their strengths to overcome it."

"Partners supporting each other..."

Kaguya found the idea somewhat similar to the Ōtsutsuki's dynamic between protectors and those they protected, though the latter were deemed supreme.

Her pale eyes gazed at Yoichi. "You want to be my protector?"

"No, I want us to be partners," Yoichi corrected. "Your Ōtsutsuki hierarchy doesn't suit me. Since you're on this planet, you should follow its rules. If I'm going to help you, it'll only be as your partner."

"Partners... Is that acceptable?"

Kaguya pondered his words, finding them intriguing. Yoichi was strong, wielded chakra, and was willing to assist her.

"I agree," she said. "But what happens after we become partners?"

Yoichi glanced at the system's guide before replying seriously, "That's something you'll have to learn and observe for yourself. On this planet, many couples work together to face challenges they can't handle alone. You can approach it the same way."

"That's similar to how our clan operates," Kaguya mused. Partnering with Yoichi seemed like a logical step in dealing with Isshiki and other potential threats.

"Then I'll study this concept of partnership. But what about Hagoromo and Hamura?"

"Someone will take care of them," Yoichi assured her. "Meanwhile, I'll investigate your enemy. Since we're becoming partners, it's only fair I contribute."

"Understood."

Hearing this, Yoichi checked the system guide. Kaguya's favorability toward him had risen to 55—a stage where she wouldn't harm him and considered him a trustworthy ally.

The rest of the process would require time and patience. Conquering someone as naive and inexperienced as Kaguya shouldn't be difficult.

Still, to avoid complications in the future, Yoichi considered sealing Kaguya's memories eventually.

For now, though, he encouraged her to learn more about partnerships. Evening would be an ideal time to observe.

"Partnerships seem similar to protectors and the protected. Except it's mutual," Kaguya muttered, wandering under the night sky.

She recalled her earlier conversation with Yoichi, feeling it made sense. With Isshiki likely alive and her children's chakra influenced by him, she needed to prepare for future confrontations.

"I'll observe fifty couples to learn about partnerships," Kaguya decided. Yoichi had suggested visiting other nations for this purpose.

Arriving in a neighboring country, she spotted a couple walking closely, smiling as they entered their home.

"Are they a couple? What will they do next?"

Curious but unwilling to intrude directly, Kaguya activated her Byakugan.

"What are they doing in the dark? Why are they removing their clothes...?"

Watching briefly, Kaguya deactivated her Byakugan. The act seemed pointless, offering no increase in strength.

She continued observing other couples but found similar behavior each time.

"Is this some kind of ritual? What's its purpose?"

Perplexed, Kaguya decided to confront a couple directly. Entering their home unannounced, she startled them.

"Why are you doing this?" she asked bluntly.

"Who are you?! Get out!!"

"Help! Someone call for help!!"

Their frantic shouting confused Kaguya. Wouldn't it be easier to answer her questions?

Recalling Yoichi's advice, she left to find another couple, determined to uncover the truth.

Meanwhile, Yoichi sent a clone to impersonate the fallen ruler of the nation, using genjutsu to alter memories. He still needed to deal with Hagoromo and ensure his plans moved forward.
