Chapter 331: Chapter 331: Kushina: Teach Me a Lesson? Let’s See Who Teaches Whom

Looking at the villagers cheering and chanting Orochimaru's name, treating him as a hero, Jiraiya felt a twinge of jealousy.

"Why does that snake get all the cheers? What about me, the great and handsome Toad Sage?"

At this moment, Jiraiya's jealousy knew no bounds.

Seeing his teacher's bitter expression, Nawaki, who had a mischievous streak, smirked and said, "While Orochimaru was fighting hard for the village, some people ran to another country and hid—for two whole days."

"..."

Just pretend I don't exist, okay?

Jiraiya, who had been seething with envy, was instantly silenced by his apprentice's jab. The truth stung: if he hadn't hidden out in the Land of Rain for those two days, he might have been celebrated alongside Orochimaru as a hero.

A Not-So-Warm Welcome

As Jiraiya scratched his head awkwardly, Namikaze Minato, ever the peacekeeper, smiled uncomfortably, unsure how to salvage the situation.

Before he could try, Orochimaru emerged from the crowd with his trademark smirk. "Jiraiya, you actually came back from the Land of Rain? I'm surprised the old man didn't brand you a traitor."

"That's rich, coming from you, snake boy! You're so black-hearted you probably think everyone's out to betray you!" Jiraiya retorted, unable to let that one slide.

Orochimaru's smirk widened. "I may be black-hearted, but at least I don't cozy up to outsiders or train enemies of the village."

Orochimaru's words hit their mark, leaving Jiraiya seething.

"Hmph! I'm done wasting my time here. I, the great Toad Sage, have more important things to do—like reporting to the Hokage!" Jiraiya declared dramatically, determined to exit with some shred of dignity.

"What a coincidence," Orochimaru replied with feigned innocence. "I was just heading to see the Hokage myself. Let's go together."

"GET LOST!" Jiraiya barked, his irritation mounting.

The two bickered their way toward the Hokage's office, their love-hate dynamic playing out as usual. Watching them go, Nawaki turned to Namikaze Minato with a grin.

"Let's head home. I can't wait to surprise my teacher—I've mastered my grandfather's water jutsu! He's going to be shocked!" Nawaki boasted, his old habit of showing off resurfacing.

Minato, with his ever-sunny smile, hid a hint of mischief. He silently wondered if Nawaki's bragging would result in a well-deserved scolding from his teacher.

A Surprise at Home

As they approached home, they stopped in their tracks.

Their house was gone.

Instead, a group of construction workers was hard at work building a new one.

"Kushina! What's going on here?" Nawaki called out in confusion.

Covered in dust, Kushina waved enthusiastically. "Oh, you're back! We're rebuilding the house! Isn't it great?"

Nawaki's eye twitched. "How many times have I told you not to call me 'Nawaki'? Call me brother! Or else..."

"Hmph! No way!" Kushina shot back, crossing her arms. "You bully me all the time. If you want me to call you brother, you've got to be stronger than me first!"

Having recently mastered the power of the Nine-Tails, Kushina was brimming with confidence. She wasn't about to back down.

"Fine. Don't cry when I beat you," Nawaki warned, rolling up his sleeves.

A Brother-Sister Clash

As the tension grew, Namikaze Minato hesitated, unsure if he should step in. Beside him, Nara Shikaku, who had been helping with the construction, chuckled.

"Nawaki, you might want to think twice about this," Shikaku advised.

"Don't worry," Nawaki assured him. "I'll go easy on her. I just need to remind her who's in charge."

Shikaku sighed. "Your funeral."

Ignoring the warning, Nawaki turned to Kushina. "Get ready, little sister!"

Kushina smirked, cracking her knuckles. "Bring it on, big brother! Let's see who teaches whom!"

The Fight Begins

The construction workers quickly cleared the area, eager to watch the showdown. Minato leaned toward Shikaku and whispered, "Do you think Kushina can handle Nawaki?"

Shikaku smirked. "Oh, she'll handle him all right. He just doesn't know it yet."

Nawaki lunged forward, but Kushina sidestepped effortlessly, her movements smooth and confident. With a flick of her wrist, she sent him tumbling backward using her newfound strength and speed.

"Too slow, brother!" Kushina teased, her grin widening.

Nawaki scrambled to his feet, stunned. When did she get this strong?

The fight quickly turned into a one-sided match, with Kushina dodging Nawaki's every move and countering with precise, playful strikes.

In a matter of minutes, Nawaki was flat on his back, staring at the sky, while Kushina stood over him, triumphant.

"Looks like you've got a lot to learn, brother," she said, offering him a hand.

Nawaki groaned, accepting his defeat. "Fine. You win. But don't get used to it!"

As the construction workers cheered and laughed, Minato and Shikaku exchanged amused glances.

"Well," Minato said with a chuckle, "I think Nawaki learned his lesson."

"And Kushina reminded everyone why you don't mess with her," Shikaku added.

The brother-sister rivalry had ended—for now. But for Nawaki, the sting of defeat was sure to linger.
