Chapter 333: Chapter 333: A World Where Only the Little Yellow-Haired Boy Is Injured
Nawaki sat by the river, his gaze distant and melancholic. Namikaze Minato quietly sat next to him, not saying anything at first.
Finally, Nawaki broke the silence, smiling bitterly. "Minato, don't you think I'm pathetic? I worked so hard, but Kushina still surpassed me like it was nothing. It's embarrassing."
Minato blinked, his expression uncertain. "Uh… can I answer that honestly?"
Nawaki frowned. "What's that supposed to mean?"
Minato hesitated but then shrugged. "You're not the only one who's been hit, okay? I've been working hard too!"
Nawaki froze, staring at Minato.
Shared Suffering
"Wait, what? You've been hit too?!"
"Yeah," Minato admitted, scratching the back of his head awkwardly. "Kushina's strength is… overwhelming. I didn't think she'd grow so powerful so quickly."
Nawaki stared at him for a moment, and then, inexplicably, his mood shifted.
Wait a second. If Minato's been hit too… then I'm not the only one!
His bitterness began to fade, replaced by a strange sense of camaraderie. We're in this together!
"You know," Nawaki said, suddenly cheerful, "this reminds me of an old saying: misery loves company. If I'm gonna feel miserable, it's nice to have a buddy to feel miserable with."
Minato blinked in confusion. "I… don't think that's how it works."
But Nawaki's mood was already on the upswing. He patted Minato on the shoulder, a gleeful grin spreading across his face.
"Don't worry, brother. We'll get through this together. Just bite the bullet and push forward!"
Minato could only gape in disbelief. "… What just happened?"
A Strange Scene at Home
When Shinki and Kushina returned home later that evening, they were greeted by an unexpected sight: Nawaki lounging on the couch, laughing to himself.
Kushina grabbed Shinki's sleeve nervously. "Shinki, something's wrong! He's lost it, hasn't he? I mean, look at him!"
Shinki raised an eyebrow but approached calmly. "Nawaki, how are you feeling?"
Nawaki looked up, beaming. "Hey, Shinki! Hey, Kushina! Don't worry, I'm fine. Actually, I feel great!"
Kushina's eyes widened. "What?! You feel great? I thought you'd be mad at me for what I did!"
Nawaki waved her off. "Mad? Nah. You were awesome out there! You should've seen Minato's face. He was so shocked. It was hilarious!"
Kushina blinked in confusion and took a step back. "Wait… you're happy because Minato was shocked?"
Shinki sighed, shaking his head. "See? I told you he'd be fine. Nawaki's not the type to stay down for long—especially when he can laugh at someone else."
The Rivalry Continues
"Shinki," Nawaki said, grinning from ear to ear, "you don't understand how rare it is to see Minato surprised. He's always so calm and composed. But today? Oh, today was golden!"
Shinki chuckled. "Just don't overdo it, Nawaki. Minato's your friend, not your punching bag."
"Yeah, yeah," Nawaki replied, waving him off. "But he deserves it. Do you know how many times he's laughed at me when I messed up? It's payback time!"
Nawaki suddenly stood up, grabbing his coat. "I'm staying at Minato's house tonight. And tomorrow. Maybe the day after too."
Kushina gasped. "What?! Why?"
"To keep the laughs going, of course!" Nawaki declared dramatically before running out the door.
Minato's Long Night
Later that night, at Namikaze Minato's house, the situation was… tense.
"Get out, Nawaki!" Minato growled, glaring at his guest.
"Nope. I'm staying here tonight. And tomorrow. You can't get rid of me," Nawaki replied smugly, crossing his arms.
"Fine," Minato said, sighing. "But keep quiet. I need to sleep."
Nawaki grinned. "Oh, don't worry. I'll keep the noise down… after we talk about Kushina's golden tail technique for the next two hours."
Minato groaned. Why did I even try to comfort this guy?
The Aftermath
The next morning, Minato arrived at Shinki's office with heavy dark circles under his eyes, his usual sunny demeanor replaced by exhaustion.
Shinki raised an eyebrow. "Rough night?"
Minato sighed heavily. "He wouldn't stop talking. I tried to kick him out, but he just climbed back in through the window."
Kushina, standing nearby, looked puzzled. "Why didn't you just lock the windows?"
Minato stared at her, deadpan. "Do you honestly think that would stop him?"
Shinki laughed. "Well, Minato, welcome to Nawaki's world. Don't worry, though—he'll get bored eventually."
Minato slumped into a chair, muttering under his breath. "I sure hope so…"
