Naruto: The Realism

Namikaze Household.

Two figures could be seen sitting in a table having tea. One with a blonde hair and the other one with tomato red. The former needs no introduction. He is Konoha's most beloved fourth hokage, Minato Namikaze a.k.a yellow flash. The other one sitting infront of him is his wife Kushina Uzumaki. They seem to discuss something funny as they burst out laughing at any instance they got. Suddenly a girl came down running from the stairs. She had pinkish purple eyes and long honey blonde hair that flew just above her lower back. She was in one word absolutely stunning.

"Morning mom, Morning dad!"

"Morning Erina chan.",Kushina stood up smiling and kissed her cheek.

"A very good morning Erina chan",Minato said smiling. He took a sip from his cup before cotinuing.

"Are you excited for today? You will be taking your first step towards it."

Erina nodded. She tried not to show her excitement, but she was absolutely elated inside. Minato chuckled at his daughter's behaviour. Erina was extremely reserved.She didn't share the same enthusiasm like her mother and her brother. Undoubtedly, she has taken this side from her father whom se idiolized. She wanted to surpass the name Minato. Minato understood that and hence didn't seem to mind. Although a little bit of smile won't do any bad.

"And where is the other goofball, Erina chan?" asked Kushina 

"Oh please Mom! I have already tried to wake him up but as usual he is sleeping without a care in the world", said Erina irritated.She loved her brother to death, but his carefree attitude sometimes gets on her nerves. No wonder that pervert Master Jiraya and him hit off like no other. Both share the same personality afterall.

Kushina sighed. She can understand where Erina is coming from. From a very young age Erina seems to understand what being a shinobi means. She has aone track mind to become the best kunoichi ever and then take the hat from her father whom she adored so much. Naruto was much like herself. He was loud, noisy and borderline intolerable at times, but that's what makes him so unique. Of course he will understand that shinobi life is far from rainbows and sunshine. But there is no harm in enjoying childhood a little more. Infact Kushina was proud that their children could grow up in such a peaceful manner than they did.

"Alright I will go wake him up. You finish your breakfast, then we will leave for the academy."

"Okay Mom"

"Alright Guys I am off. I have a meeting and then I have to go to the academy as well to give a speech. I will see you there". Minato said while he wore his traditional hokage rope. He kissed on top of his daughter's head and Kushinas before vanishing in a flash.

Uchiha Compound.

"I am off Mother!", a little boy with raven hair said while storming through the door.

"Wait Sasuke, take your lunchbox."

Sasuke stopped midway, turned back and snatch the box before storming past once again.

Huh! This boy. As much as he idolizes his brother, I would have been happy if he took his calmness a little. Well not like Kushina's son is any better in that regard.

Mikoto chuckled before turning back and closing the door.

A man can be seen watching the scene standing in a roof with a mask on. He smiled a little before vanishing as well.

The Konoha street was unusually busy today. Many families have come personally to see their children off. A privilege you get if you are born in one. Well not that it matters to Shanks. He was born in one, even though they don't exist anymore. But he was excited for today. He had heard about the other great clans. The power they wield, the genius they display. He is not someone who takes everything at face value, but there must be some truth behind all those claims. After all these clans were feared all through elemental nations. Well, no matter, he will have ample opportunity to see those. 

While contemplating he came to a halt. Hmm, that's one hell of an academy. It was huge and by the looks of it, it was maintained extremely well. He didn't know where to go. Suddenly a voice from behind spoke,

"Let's go to the centre. Lord Hokage will be giving a speech for us newcomers."

Shanks took a good look at the person in front. He had raven long hair tied in a pony tail and symbol of a paper fan in his chest, an Uchiha , he thought inwardly.

"S-sure, let's go."

The raven haired boy nodded. I am Yami Uchiha by the way.

"Oh I am Shanks." he replied.

"No last name?", Yami asked in confusion.

Shanks thought whether he wanted to disclose his lineage or not. His mentor's words came to his mind, Unless you are absolute certain of your skills I will advice not to disclose it. Of course it's yours decision to make. I will not interfere. But remember actions have consequences. Seeing the restless look on the Uchiha's face he cleared his throat before replying," Just Shanks". 

The Uchiha thought it was weird not to have any last name. Well it was not his place to meddle. So he nodded and started walking along with him.

They walked for a few minutes before coming down to a halt. Well many students seem to enroll this year. After standing behind a large crowd of children Shanks started noticing all the kids who will be competing with him. Suddenly a voice came from the podium,

"Everyone be quiet. Lord Hokage will be giving a speech, so keep your mouth shut and listen."

Suddenly silence fell. On seeing the Fourth Hokage, everyone got respectful and serious. Shanks understood that day what power truly means, the weight that it carries. One day, just you wait, one day!. The fourth looked at the kids and smiled gently.

He began his speech," Congratulations to all of you for passing the entrance examination. Now that you have entered the academy, you will be taught the ways of Konoha shinobi. This academy was a vision of Lord Second, my idol. He taught a lot of great shinobi including Lord Third. The ninjas who pass out of the academy will all ensure that our village stays safe, peaceful and protected. This is our WILL OF FIRE. Carry on the will of fire in you brighter than anyone else. I am sure you all will become splendid shinobi in your own rights. And with that I welcome you all to our academy."

As soon as his speech ended, it was followed by a round of applause. He looked at the crowd before he found what he was looking for. He smiled looking at his two kids and gave them a wink before vanishing in a flash. 

"Everyone whose name is in the first list please go to Class 1A, in second list in class 1B and son on", a Chunin named Izaya spoke.

Shanks found his name in the first list and headed towards Class 1A. He came to the door before opening it to enter.

Then and there entered a kid who will be so feared in the Shinobi world that all other shinobi will think twice before mentioning his name. But that's a story for the future.
