Naruto: The Tale of an Otsutsuki

Chapter 75: Chapter 75: Preparations and Reflection

After Sasuke left on his own, Kirito had no choice but to stay and restore the training ground that had been destroyed during their battle.

Using Wood Release to repair the forest damaged by the giant arrow, Kirito silently digested the information Sasuke had shared, analyzing the threat posed by the imminent arrival of Ōtsutsuki Urashiki.

[Urashiki? I don't recall much about him... How does he compare to Momoshiki and Kinshiki? What kind of abilities will he have?]

The limited information Sasuke provided left Kirito unable to prepare adequately for Urashiki. He had to consider strategies for a stable confrontation.

[Kaguya, the Sage of Six Paths, Momoshiki... the Ōtsutsuki clan members are all overwhelmingly powerful. To fight them, I may need to rely on the Rinnegan and Sharingan abilities.]

Touching the sealed Rinne Sharingan on his forehead, Kirito debated whether to use its power.

In his plan, the Rinne Sharingan was his ultimate trump card, reserved for moments when his identity was exposed. Activating it would unleash his most powerful abilities, but he had worked hard to keep it hidden. Most people assumed the scar on his forehead was from a childhood injury.

[Let's see how things unfold. Weapons are meant to be used, after all. Maybe I can use this confrontation with Urashiki to gauge my strength.]

[If Urashiki appears, I wonder if the Sage of Six Paths will take notice… No matter. I'm not the helpless baby I once was.]

The next morning, Kirito arrived at Konoha Hospital as requested by Tsunade.

"Good morning, Master Tsunade!" Kirito greeted.

"Morning." Tsunade handed him a scroll marked with the kanji for "wood." "Here, this is for you."

"What's this?"

"This is the Wood Release scroll passed down from my grandfather, the First Hokage," Tsunade explained, arms crossed. "You're a user of Wood Release and my student. I believe you're qualified to learn from it."

Kirito unwrapped the scroll and scanned its contents: The Birth of the Tree World, Wood Dragon Jutsu, Flower Tree World Arrival, Wood Golem Jutsu...

The scroll detailed the various techniques developed by the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, including sealing techniques derived from Wood Release, such as Wood Release: Wood Hands of Silent Restraint and Wood Release: Myojin Gate.

To Kirito's surprise, the scroll also contained an advanced version of Myojin Gate developed from Wood Release. Unlike the red stone torii gates in the original technique, this version created wooden gates that not only suppressed and sealed but also absorbed the chakra of the sealed target.

However, the technique required immense chakra reserves, making it nearly impossible for anyone outside the Senju or Uzumaki clans to use effectively. Even for Hashirama, it was a technique typically reserved for Sage Mode.

[I like this. In the original story, Hashirama used the Myojin Gate to suppress the Ten Tails—it was so cool.]

Kirito had always struggled with sealing techniques. Advanced seals were often guarded secrets, leaving him with limited options. The most advanced seal he knew was the Reaper Death Seal, a technique with fatal consequences for the user—though Kirito could theoretically avoid this drawback by using the Rinnegan to subdue the Reaper itself. However, the operation was complex and hard to explain if witnessed.

Now, with Wood Release: Myojin Gate, Kirito felt his shortcomings in sealing techniques were addressed. Chakra requirements? That was a solvable problem for him.

"How is it? Find anything useful?" Tsunade asked, noticing the smile on Kirito's face.

"Yes, Master Tsunade! Thank you!" Kirito replied enthusiastically, rolling up the scroll.

"Good! I had to wrestle it away from that old fox Danzo," Tsunade said proudly. "This was meant for the younger generation, but Danzo kept it locked away. Of course, as Hokage and Hashirama's granddaughter, I took it back. You should've seen his face—it was priceless!"

Tsunade chuckled, recounting her victory over Danzo. Then she added, "By the way, there's someone in the ANBU with Wood Release as well. If you encounter any difficulties, I can introduce you. You might find common ground as fellow Wood Release users."

[As expected, Tsunade really is the best,] Kirito thought.

Since becoming her apprentice, Kirito had gained access to invaluable resources and knowledge, much of which would have been unattainable otherwise. Tsunade's only expectation was that he use his abilities to protect the village in times of crisis.

Tsunade had observed that Kirito's immense strength was matched by a tendency to stay in the background. He often avoided direct involvement, even in situations where he could turn the tide. She suspected his reluctance stemmed from a lack of connection to the village—perhaps he saw little worth protecting.

Determined to change this, Tsunade provided Kirito with as many resources as possible, fostering trust and respect rather than forcing loyalty. Threats and coercion were never her approach; she knew that if Kirito were pushed to become a rogue ninja, he would be even more dangerous than Orochimaru.

"Unfortunately, there's no direct information on Ice Release or Lava Release users," Tsunade said, handing Kirito another booklet. "This contains battle records from the village's encounters with such users during past wars. It might give you some insight."

"Thank you, Master. I'll study it carefully!" Kirito said.

"Good. Take your time with it later. For now, we're continuing your training in the Creation Rebirth Technique."

"Yes, Master!"

Meanwhile, after confirming Boruto was safe with Naruto, Sasuke ventured to the abandoned Uchiha clan grounds.

In the future, the Uchiha compound was destroyed during Pain's attack on Konoha and was never rebuilt. The area had been repurposed for other uses, erasing its former identity.

Walking through the desolate streets, Sasuke felt as though he had stepped back into the past. The quiet neighborhood seemed frozen in time, still haunted by the events of that fateful night.

As he wandered, memories of his childhood self—consumed by hatred and driven by vengeance against Itachi—came flooding back.

"An evil clan…" Sasuke mused bitterly. He now understood the truth: the Uchiha were not inherently evil but victims of their own intense emotions and isolation. The lack of communication and connection with the village had driven them to tragedy.

For some reason, Sasuke thought of Kirito. Though from the Ōtsutsuki clan, Kirito seemed like a capable and gentle Konoha ninja. Yet his origins cast doubt on all his actions, making them seem suspicious.

"Is it also a lack of communication?" Sasuke wondered. But he quickly dismissed the thought. The Ōtsutsuki's nature was destructive. If Kirito was truly an exception, then he was a rare anomaly.

Sasuke couldn't shake the fear that meeting Urashiki might awaken Kirito's latent Ōtsutsuki instincts, potentially turning him into a greater threat.

Spending the day wandering the abandoned Uchiha grounds, Sasuke eventually reunited with Boruto in the woods. After sharing updates and confirming Urashiki's absence, the two resumed their watch.
