Naruto : The ultimate Troublemaker

Chapter 149: To War

The wind still carried the echoes of Shikai's sacrifice as the preparations for war reached their peak. Konoha, wounded but resolute, mobilized its forces to face a threat that would no longer remain in the shadows.

Tsunade, silent, carried Shikai's lifeless body, her expression closed but her eyes shining with sadness. The streets were filled with debris and ashes, but the villagers' gazes were fixed on the fallen hero's corpse. No cries, no tears, only a respectful silence.

The village of Konoha lay in ruins, marked by the recent battle. The imposing figure of Tsunade slowly moved through the devastated streets, carrying Shikai's body. No words were spoken, but the weight of silence was enough to express the collective pain.

Shikaku Nara stood before the unit leaders, his face grave yet determined.

"Shikai sacrificed himself for you, just as his spiritual father, Minato Namikaze, did before him. We owe him this victory. We will honor him, but only after securing our future. For now, the priority is clear: to besiege Amegakure and eliminate any remaining threats."

They all nodded, their looks determined. The loss of Shikai was a pain, but it was also a source of motivation.

...

Naruto was led into a dark and cramped room, where Shikaku awaited him. The atmosphere was tense.

"Naruto Uzumaki," Shikaku began in a cold voice. "Speak. What happened after you were kidnapped? And who taught you those forbidden jutsu?"

Naruto, known for his impulsive temperament, replied calmly.

"I was taken to Ame, and... I don't remember much, as if my memories were blurred. But... it was a woman. She possessed the Rinnegan, but she was far more powerful than Nagato. I don't know her exact name or her face, but she taught me techniques I never thought possible. She claimed to belong to a mysterious organization."

Shikaku furrowed his eyebrows, his mind already formulating a strategy.

"And what do you mean by 'more powerful than Nagato'?"

"She controlled the Rinnegan with an eerie fluidity, as if it came naturally to her. I've never seen such a level of mastery; Nagato always had a sickly aspect because of the dojutsu, and it was this woman who kept him alive and, most importantly, she was perfectly healthy."

Inoichi nodded, thinking, as he looked at Shikaku.

"Very well. That could be important for what's to come. But tell me, why did this person teach you these techniques?"

Naruto lowered his head, his voice barely audible.

"She said I had a role to play, that I had to bear a burden for the Uzumaki clan... Maybe she wanted me to be a weapon."

Shikaku sighed, running a hand over his face.

"You were manipulated... For now, we need you in the upcoming battle. But know that you'll be watched."

Even though Shikaku told him he would be watched, Naruto had already been subjected to a powerful fuinjutsu; if he made any inappropriate moves, he would die instantly.

...

As Naruto left the interrogation, he turned to Shikaku.

"Before we depart for Amegakure, may I see my mother, Shikaku-sama?"

Shikaku fixed him with a stare, searching for any hesitation in his eyes. Finally, he nodded.

"Very well. Follow me."

They made their way through the rubble to a secure building, where Kushina Uzumaki was kept alive in a stable condition thanks to the complex seals left by Shikai. Naruto entered, his steps heavy, his heart pounding.

Kushina was there, sleeping peacefully. Naruto approached, hesitating, before whispering:

"Mom... it's me, Naruto."

After a minute of silence in the room, Naruto said:

"Naruto, it's time. We must leave."

Naruto turned to his mother one last time, wiping away his tears.

"I'll be back, mom. I promise."

...

In the following days, the scrolls left by Shikai were unsealed. Shikamaru, intrigued by their contents, immersed himself in their study.

"Fascinating," he murmured as he read through the detailed instructions of the Nara techniques. "Shikai truly pushed this art to an unprecedented level."

The scrolls were imbued with a massive Yin chakra, enhancing the power of the techniques they described. Among them, Shikamaru found one that Shikai had said was intended for Lee.

"Even in death, he had already planned for Lee's incurable situation and provided a solution," Shikamaru said.

Lee, still bedridden, also received a scroll. Tenten brought it to him with care.

"Shikai wanted you to have this, Lee. He believed in you," she said.

Lee, his hands trembling, opened the scroll and read Shikai's words. It was a mysterious summoning scroll.

"If it is his will, I will honor his sacrifice," Lee said.

As Tenten left the room, a dark smoke emerged from the scroll and entered Lee's nostrils. He had now become the new host of Reibi.

...

A week after the attack, a massive army of fifty thousand shinobi from the four great nations set out. Naruto and Sasuke, their new Rinnegan taken from Shikai's body as he had requested, marched at the head of the column. The Rinnegan boosted their abilities, improved their synchronization by sharing their visions, and replaced their lost pupils.

Naruto broke the silence.

"Sasuke, do you feel it?"

Sasuke turned an inquisitive look towards him.

"Feel what?"

"The weight of what Shikai gave us. This Rinnegan... It's not just power. It's a responsibility."

Sasuke slowly nodded.

"We have a duty to him. And to everyone," he said, distractedly thinking about Shikai's last words concerning Itachi. Before resurrecting everyone, Shikai had told Sasuke that his brother would tell him he was proud of him.

Their conversation was interrupted by Shikaku, who was coordinating the units.

"Prepare yourselves. We're entering enemy territory soon."

Facing them were masked Obito, Jura, the white Zetsu, the Edo Tensei summoned by Karin, including Yagura, Gengetsu, Onoki, Mu, Hashirama, the Third Raikage, the Third Tsuchikage, Hiruzen, Tobirama, Rasa, the Gold and Silver Brothers, Jiraiya, Utakata, Yogito, Fû, Han, and, most notably, Madara Uchiha...
