Chapter 155: Codename : Hyuga
The lava waves roared beneath Itachi's feet, while the intense gravity of this dimension seemed to want to swallow him whole. The heat was suffocating, and his chakra was rapidly diminishing due to the efforts he had exerted so far.
"I must find a solution quickly," murmured Itachi, his brows furrowed, desperately scanning the surroundings for an escape.
As he began to think of a strategy, a firm grip suddenly seized him by the collar. Surprised, he instinctively turned around and executed a reverse kick, forcing his assailant to let go.
Taking advantage of the separation, Itachi backed away several meters and invoked the little remaining chakra to activate his Perfect Susanoo, enveloping himself in an ethereal armor to maintain flight above the lava.
Before him stood a strange silhouette. It wore a tight-fitting black garment, topped with a cape and a Shinigami mask adorned with chains attached to its back. Although these chains seemed purely aesthetic, they added to the intimidating aura of the individual.
"Who are you?" asked Itachi, his voice grave but steady, his red eyes shining intensely in the ambient light.
The masked man did not move, his mask appearing to shimmer slightly in the darkness of this hellish dimension.
"Itachi Uchiha," he began, his voice calm but firm. "A genius of the Uchiha clan, killed by your brother to protect Konoha. Resurrected by Shikai after the truth came to light. You can call me Hyuga. I come in peace, sent by KageYami."
Itachi furrowed his brows, perplexed.
"KageYami? What ninja village would be powerful enough to send someone here?" he thought aloud.
The confusion thickened, enveloping him like a cold fog. Just a week ago, he had suddenly awakened, his body sore and his mind disoriented, in a place completely foreign to him. The world around him was shrouded in oppressive darkness, an endless night where the pale red glow of a moon struggled to pierce the shadows. Everywhere, formless silhouettes were frozen in cocoons of matter with roots sprouting everywhere.
A massive and overwhelming chakra wave pulsed in the distance, drawing his attention like a beacon in this sea of nothingness. Without hesitation, guided by an acute instinct, he had headed towards this source of power. During his journey through this desolate landscape, he had come across the wife of the Yondaime, Kushina Uzumaki.
But beyond this brief exchange, the pieces of the puzzle remained scattered and incomprehensible. He knew nothing of the cataclysm that had plunged the world into such chaos or the heroic sacrifice of his former rival Shisui to resurrect him. And even of the existence of this KageYami that the man in front of him spoke of.
"Is it a new ninja village?" wondered Itachi.
The idea seemed absurd to him; ninja villages were built on solid foundations, on history, and could not appear out of nowhere with powerful ninjas.
The ninja before him, who had defied the laws of gravity with incredible agility, wore a mask and had a codename. It was a sign that this individual operated in the shadows.
"A new organization... like Akatsuki?" he murmured, his suspicions growing.
Without losing a second more, Itachi used *Amaterasu*, hoping to quickly finish off this unknown opponent.
The black flames burst forth from his eyes, swooping down on Hyuga with blinding speed. But to Itachi's great surprise, the attack was immediately neutralized.
The dark openings of Hyuga's mask eyes shone with a golden light, and the black flames were sealed within a transparent cube that disappeared as if the attack had never existed.
"Useless," declared Hyuga calmly.
Itachi became instantly more serious. He drew the Totsuka sword and plunged forward with his Perfect Susanoo, hoping that the combined power would be enough to defeat this mysterious adversary.
But Hyuga, unperturbed, leaped towards the Susanoo. Although minuscule compared to the imposing spiritual structure, he deftly evaded the massive sword attacks.
"Even you, Itachi, do not understand the true extent of your opponent," said Hyuga, before gently placing his palm on the Susanoo.
A golden wave erupted from his hand.
The Susanoo was violently propelled backward, its spiritual feet scraping the burning ground of the dimension.
"How...?" Itachi didn't have time to finish his thought as Hyuga appeared before him with vertiginous speed.
*64 Fists of Jin*
His tone remained calm but authoritative.
Hyuga combined the traditional Hyuga technique of hakke with the release of Jinton dust, an advanced manipulation of chakra. Each palm strike he delivered to the Susanoo destroyed a part of the spiritual structure, the fragments disappearing completely as if they had never existed.
"Each touched part returns to the state of elementary particles," explained Hyuga calmly, making Itachi understand that he had no chance. Even in KuraYami, he was one of the most powerful members, stronger than the toad sage Jura.
His Taijutsu was powerful, fast, and precise.
Itachi's once-indestructible Susanoo was rapidly disintegrating under the power of the blows. Unable to maintain the protective structure, Itachi was finally exposed.
Without his spiritual defense, Itachi invoked his Yata Mirror, hoping to block the assault.
Hyuga raised a hand that shone with an intense golden glow.
*Jinton: Return to Origin.*
Hyuga's palm struck the ethereal shield with clinical precision. The impact resonated throughout the dimension, and the legendary shield disintegrated into a cloud of golden dust.
"Impossible...!" murmured Itachi, his eyes widening in surprise.
He could still invoke the shield, but it would be useless; the attack was far too destructive. It directly corroded the weapon.
Hyuga gave Itachi no time to react. He surged forward and delivered a knee strike to Itachi's face, propelling the Uchiha backward with such force that he immediately lost consciousness.
Itachi, unconscious, was now at the mercy of his opponent. Hyuga lifted him onto his shoulder, observing his defeated enemy with an indecipherable expression.
"Uchiha... You are always so unpredictable; the master didn't even know you would be this powerful if you were healthy," he sighed.
"Uchiha, I'm done."
