One day earlier.

Under a slightly overcast sky, Neji trained relentlessly in an isolated clearing. Shirtless, his skin glistened with sweat as he performed complex sequences with disconcerting precision. His movements were swift, calculated, almost mechanical, yet they exuded brute force. His long dark hair floated in the air with each movement.

His eyes, illuminated by his golden Byakugan, shone with a cold intensity.

"Still not enough," he murmured, his icy tone betraying his dissatisfaction.

Not far away, a slender silhouette, dressed in dark attire and a Shinigami mask, observed silently. Karin, her gaze fixed on Neji, followed each of his movements through her Rinnegan. Her eyes were filled with admiration for this man she saw as the embodiment of perfection.

As Neji finished a spectacular acrobatic move, straightening up gracefully, Karin couldn't help but exclaim,

"Kyaaa!"

She clapped frantically, completely hypnotized by her idol.

Neji, visibly annoyed, clicked his tongue before snapping,

"Do you have nothing better to do than spy on me, Uzumaki?"

Karin, undeterred, giggled.

"It's not spying, come on! After all these years, we're close enough, aren't we?"

"And when did that happen?" Neji retorted, raising an eyebrow beneath his mask.

Karin blushed slightly under her mask, her smile betraying her excitement.

'He's probably even more handsome under that mask,' she thought with a shiver.

"It's been almost two years that we've been working together. I know you inside out now, you know."

Neji, his gaze hard, replied in a monotone voice,

"They were just missions. Nothing more. We were there to collect DNA and do reconnaissance. That's all."

During those two years, Neji and Karin had explored destroyed bases, collected DNA samples from powerful ninjas, and searched for information about a scientist named Amado, on Shikai's orders. Their quest had often been fruitless, uncovering only ruins and outdated data.

Karin, as tenacious as ever, changed the subject.

"Actually, I really want to see your face."

Neji frowned.

"No."

"Come on! I'll show you mine too. I'm very beautiful, you know ~."

Neji fixed her with a mix of exasperation and indifference.

"I don't care. The only person I trust is Kage Yami."

Karin sighed, feigning offense.

"You're always so cold..." she murmured before offering him a small vial filled with a viscous liquid.

"What's this?" Neji asked, taking the vial with suspicion.

"A recovery solution. It'll help you with your long training sessions."

Neji had his thoughts elsewhere, or he would have already seen something strange. By biting Karin, he could immediately regain his chakra and endurance, yet she gave him a dubious solution.

"Thanks."

Neji sat next to her, slightly removing his mask to drink the solution in one go. Karin, fascinated, couldn't help but stare at his mouth, the only visible part of his face.

Neji felt her insistent gaze and looked at her out of the corner of his eye, putting his mask back on.

"I'm a wanted criminal. If you see my face, I'll have no choice but to kill you."

Karin giggled, her cheeks turning redder.

"Kyaaa! So cold ~. But that's exactly what makes you even more attractive. I love bad boys."

A few minutes after drinking the solution, Neji felt his body react strangely.

"The effect is rather quick... Huh?"

An overwhelming heat spread through his veins, intensifying with each second. His muscles contracted involuntarily, and a rapid pulse hammered his chest.

"What...?!" he murmured, clenching his fists.

His breath became short, and a sweat different from physical exertion beaded on his forehead. A strange sensation, halfway between desire and annoyance, clouded his usually impassive mind.

Karin, who had removed her mask, watched him with a broad and mischievous smile. Her red cheeks and playful expression betrayed her excitement.

"Are you feeling okay, Neji?" she asked innocently, although she knew the answer perfectly well.

Neji, fighting against the effects of the aphrodisiac he had unknowingly consumed, stood up abruptly and grabbed Karin by the throat.

"What have you done, Uzumaki?!" he growled, his golden gaze burning with anger and confusion.

But his body, already under the influence of the substance, no longer responded to his will. Karin, taking advantage of his momentary weakness, moved closer to him, her face a few centimeters from his.

"Don't worry, Neji. All I want is..." she murmured, her warm breath caressing his skin.

With a trembling hand, she removed Neji's mask, finally revealing his face. Karin was speechless, hypnotized by the cold and charismatic beauty of the man she admired so much.

Neji, still struggling against the effect of the aphrodisiac, felt his body lean towards Karin, unable to resist. His hand slid from her neck, and their faces drew closer.

In an uncontrollable gesture, he seized her lips with brutal intensity, nibbling on her full mouth. Karin, blushing, responded with the same ardor, her arms wrapping around his neck.

But everything went black for Neji. The last thing he heard was Karin's satisfied laughter before he sank into unconsciousness.

When he woke up, Neji was alone, his mask carefully back in place. A handwritten note from Karin was placed on his knee:

"Thank you for that moment. I adore you, my bad boy. You can call me Karin."

Neji crumpled the paper, his expression turning cold once more.

"That girl is unbearable," he murmured, looking at the nude silhouette on the bed. He had bruises all over his body with a satisfied smile on his face.

His memories were becoming less and less hazy. And he knew how he had been violent, but Uzumaki was too excited.

"Is she a masochist?" He murmured, a slight cackle escaping his lips.

Then he lay down next to her, gazing at the ceiling.

"In the end, maybe that's the real me." Neji said, thinking about the torrid night he had spent with Karin.
