Kakuzu had never forgotten the humiliation of that day. Returning to Takigakure, he slew the village elders who betrayed him and claimed the Earth Grudge Fear technique. Yet, despite living for over 90 years, the shadow of Tobirama's killing intent lingered in his heart.

The young Kakuzu had fought against a mere wood clone of Hashirama Senju, the God of Shinobi, who showed no intention to kill. But upon his defeat, the overwhelming killing intent from Tobirama was something Kakuzu could never forget—a suffocating pressure from an elite Kage.

And now, seeing Senju Tobirama again after all these years sent a shiver down Kakuzu's spine, sparking an urge to retreat.

The sound of deliberate footsteps echoed. The streams flanking the area parted to form a clear path as Tobirama approached.

The Deva Path stepped forward, addressing Tobirama coldly.

The events unfolded faster than lightning. Even Nagato didn't expect Tobirama to attack without a single word of negotiation.

However, the other members of Akatsuki lacked such all-encompassing defenses.

Before Kakuzu could react, Tobirama teleported above him, slashing downward with lethal precision.

At the last second, Kakuzu activated his earth-heart technique, hardening his arms into blackened stone and raising them to block the incoming strike.

The Deva Path roared, forming a small black sphere in his palm. Should Tobirama reappear, he would use Bansho Ten'in to capture him instantly.

The Akatsuki, all seasoned S-rank rogue ninja, quickly grasped the strategy. Without needing the Deva Path's orders, they launched a barrage of jutsu at the Flying Thunder God kunai scattered across the battlefield.

Countless techniques rained down, decimating the battlefield and intercepting Tobirama's kunai.

But in the chaos, Tobirama reappeared next to one kunai that had been blown away earlier by Shinra Tensei.

Nagato acted swiftly, having the Deva Path unleash Bansho Ten'in. The gravitational pull dragged Tobirama towards him, immobilizing his movement.

The other Akatsuki members seized the opportunity, combining their signature techniques to strike down the Hokage.

Caught mid-air, Tobirama's lips curled into a faint smile.

As the wave of attacks engulfed him, his figure disappeared into a mass of chakra-infused smoke.

"Did we get him?"

Deidara exhaled, his voice laced with relief. The Second Hokage's speed had been overwhelming, but with their leader present, they managed to subdue him.

"No! Scatter!"

The Deva Path's Rinnegan trembled, detecting something abnormal.

From the smoke, instead of disappearing, Tobirama's chakra surged, giving rise to a forest of writhing, life-filled roots.

"Wood Style: Nativity of a World of Trees!"

Reforming his body, Tobirama clasped his hands together. Towering trees brimming with life force erupted from the ground, surging toward the Akatsuki members like a tidal wave.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The earth split apart as the sheer power of the Wood Style transformed the battlefield into an endless forest.

"Retreat!"

The Deva Path leapt to shield the others from the onslaught, but even Nagato hadn't anticipated the Second Hokage wielding such a terrifying mastery of Wood Style.

For tactical reasons, Nagato had only deployed the Deva Path to ambush Itachi, leaving the other Paths back in Amegakure. But encountering Tobirama here was entirely unforeseen.

Ordering the others to retreat, Deidara, Kakuzu, and Sasori mounted a clay bird and took to the skies.

Meanwhile, the Deva Path braced himself against the relentless wave of trees.

"Shinra Tensei!"

This repulsion was nearly as powerful as the one used to destroy Konoha in the original timeline, though slightly restrained to conserve Nagato's life force.

A visible shockwave of pale energy rippled outward, halting the advancing forest in its tracks.
