Chapter 419: Temple Part 2

The entrance to the temple was wide open, and I spotted some guards there. They were all weak shamans so there was no way they could easily detect me. I easily immobilized them with my telekinesis and then attempted to use my suggestion .

[Suggestion Failed]

As expected, the suggestion failed. But with me invisible and them immobile, I knew I just had to resort to using my Oath. It was more time-consuming, but it was enough .

After finishing up with them, I made my way inside.

Finally, I reached the inner sanctum, where the clan leader resided.

The room was spacious, adorned with ornate decorations and ancient artifacts. At the center stood a magnificent altar, surrounded by flickering candles.

This place was divided into different rooms, each with its own function . At the center of it all was the inner chamber, where the Clan Leader room was located .

*BLINK!

I used my teleportation to enter his room, appearing far from the bed to avoid detection. However, to my surprise, the room was empty.

It was a huge room, maybe around 300 square meters in size, with an old Japanese theme reminiscent of what I usually see in samurai movies.

Wooden beams crisscrossed the ceiling, supporting intricately designed paper lanterns that cast a warm, golden glow. The soft texture of tatami mats covered the floor, evident to the eye as I stepped into the room.

Along the walls, delicate shoji screens depicted scenes of nature - cherry blossoms in bloom, tranquil bamboo groves, and majestic mountainscapes.

Ornate wooden cabinets displayed an array of porcelain tea sets and ancient artifacts, hinting at a rich cultural heritage.

"Is he out?" I pondered to myself, scanning the room for any signs of the Clan Leader's whereabouts.

However, there was no one to be seen. I could tell that this room was not normal. I used my telekinesis to cover the whole room, scanning for any hidden presences or traps.

The next moment, a sudden force slammed into me, knocking me down towards the floor. Though it wasn't enough to make me kneel, hovering became a struggle as my body felt heavy from the increase in weight.

"Who are you?" demanded a man clad in a black robe as he emerged from a secret door. His right eye shone with white light, contrasting with his black, tied-up hair. Two swords hung at his waist, ready for battle.

It was easy to figure out who he was; the second strongest gifted in Asia, Miyoshi Sadao.

Judging from his demeanor, I could tell that he was not weak. I had gathered all the information about him from Cerebrum HQ, so I knew that he had the ability to control the weight of his targets.

He might even be stronger than Zhang in overall combat ability, especially considering that he could also wield two swords that has powers.

'Time for plan B' I muttered to myself.

With my better control over telekinesis, I could now create a space that neutralized sound and shockwaves from escaping, just for this type of scenario .

"I'm here to offer you a deal," I replied with a nonchalant tone. The moment I used my telekinesis to help move my body, the increase in weight was no longer an issue.

Miyoshi noticed how easily I was able to counter his power, so he decided to increase my weight further. But it was futile. With my telekinesis and enhanced stats, I could still move my body at will.

However, the same couldn't be said for the ground beneath me. I began to sink under the immense weight, a clear indication of just how heavy I had become.

"How about we talk it out?" I asked with a chuckle. Even as I sank, I remained unfazed.

Nonetheless, his power intrigued me. The ability to change the weight of his target meant he could disable almost anyone without even moving.

"Die," he uttered, and I sensed a small surge of danger.

So before he could increase my weight further, I suddenly appeared behind him.

I activated my Mind Shock, but as expected, it did not work. However, it served as a good diversion. The moment he turned to face me, I teleported to his side, targeting his neck with my palm to knock him down.

This should have ended the fight; however, my hands passed through him as if he were made of mist. In an instant, he transformed into a gas like matter and reappeared on the other side of the room.

"You're very dangerous," Miyoshi acknowledged, as he drew one of his swords. It emitted a peculiar mist, and upon closer inspection, I felt the space around its blade distorting.

"Says the guy who just turned into a mist," I chuckled aloud. This person would be perfect for my special army.

The mist around the sword continued to escalate, and after a few seconds, the whole room was no longer visible. It was all mist, and even my sense of direction was thrown off. I felt like there was no up or down, left or right—just an endless haze surrounding me.

'Fuck, this guy is cheating. He has so many powers,' I muttered in annoyance while clicking my tongue. I really hated enemies who relied solely on the sheer quantity of their abilities.

But two could play the same game. If it came down to the number of abilities, then I was confident that no one could beat me in that department—except for that Adam guy and the blue humanoid.

Black mist started to appear around me, slowly consuming the white mist like ink spreading on paper.

*ZING!

'I got heavier again,' a sighed escape my lips.

I had hoped to find him by bluffing with my mirage, but he was still nowhere to be found. I couldn't see him, but he could increase my weight at will.

'Should I just destroy this whole room and kill him?' I pondered to myself.

However, after considering the wasted talent if he died, I changed my mind. He would be perfect for my special army.
