One Piece: Deriving All Things

Chapter 109: Pure Gold in Hand, the Next Recruitment Target!

Myskina Acier , dressed in his dinosaur costume, stood frozen, staring at Olga in the distance.

His eyes filled with tears, blurring his vision. She looked exactly the same as she did over a hundred years ago—her appearance untouched by time.

He had long assumed his daughter was dead. After all, the Anglerfish Lord's stomach was fraught with danger. From the savage dinosaurs to the corrosive gastric fluids of the stomach sea, everything inside was lethal.

But now...

Olga was alive!

At that moment, the large dinosaur in the nest began charging toward Sanders and Olga.

Seeing the dinosaur heading straight for his daughter, Myskina Acier couldn't hold back any longer. He tore off his disguise, revealing his now slightly overweight body.

"Danger! Olga! Get out of here!" he shouted desperately, running toward her.

"Father…"

Olga stood rooted in place, watching her father scream and run toward her with a face full of worry.

Meanwhile, Sanders glanced at the charging dinosaur, his gaze calm.

Without hesitation, he unleashed a wave of Conqueror's Haki.

The dinosaur froze mid-charge, its eyes rolling back as it collapsed unconscious to the ground.

Myskina Acier stopped in his tracks, his expression frozen with shock.

"What... what just happened?" His mind was a whirlwind of confusion, though he felt a wave of relief.

At least Olga was safe, for now.

He turned his gaze toward his daughter. His eyes, filled with love and longing, locked onto her.

It had been over a century—he had finally reunited with his daughter.

"Olga!"

Tears streamed down Myskina Acier 's dust-covered face, carving two clean trails on his grimy cheeks. His voice choked as he called her name.

"Father!"

Olga ran toward him, and the two embraced tightly, both crying uncontrollably.

Sanders stood silently to the side, watching the scene unfold without interrupting. Time wasn't something he was lacking.

After a while, Olga stepped back, looking up at her father with an earnest expression.

"Father, did you create Pure Gold because of my illness?" she asked, her voice trembling.

Even though Sanders had already told her the truth, she wanted to hear it from her father directly.

Myskina Acier froze momentarily, his expression puzzled.

"How… how did you know that?"

Hearing his question, Olga's eyes reddened, and tears began streaming down her face again.

"He told me," she said, pointing toward Sanders.

Myskina Acier turned his gaze to Sanders, his face filled with doubt.

The fact that he had researched Pure Gold to cure his daughter was a secret known only to a few. Moreover, nearly two centuries had passed since then. There shouldn't have been anyone left who knew about it.

Sanders stepped forward, speaking in a calm tone."Let me introduce myself. My name is Sanders. I'm a pirate, and I came here to find Pure Gold."

"Pirate?!"

Myskina Acier 's expression changed instantly. He quickly shielded Olga behind him, his gaze wary as he faced Sanders.

"There's no need to be so tense. I mean you no harm," Sanders said evenly. "I'm only here for the Pure Gold. Once I retrieve the Pure Gold stored in your lab, I can take both of you out of here."

To him, reuniting the father and daughter was merely incidental—a simple favor on his part.

"How do you know there's Pure Gold in my lab?" Myskina Acier asked, his mind filled with questions.

How did this pirate know about events from nearly two centuries ago? How did he know that there was still Pure Gold in his lab?

"That's not something you need to concern yourself with," Sanders replied casually."What I want you to understand is that even without your help, I can still retrieve the Pure Gold from the third stomach of the Anglerfish Lord.

"Whether it's reuniting you with your daughter or resolving the estrangement between you two, these are merely byproducts of my journey."

"If you two don't want to leave, I can just go retrieve the pure gold and leave now," Sanders said calmly.

Myskina Acier glanced at his daughter and asked, "You can take us out of here?"

"If I can come in, I can naturally leave as well," Sanders replied.

"Father, he has a flying submarine. It's amazing," Olga said softly.

"Then thank you very much. If we can leave, it would be great," Myskina Acier said gratefully, his expression relieved.

This man clearly knew so much and was even willing to take them out. It didn't seem like he had any ill intentions. Besides, the giant dinosaur lying on the ground made it clear: even if he did have bad intentions, they wouldn't stand a chance against him.

"Then let's go." Sanders nodded and turned to leave the dinosaur's nest.

Myskina Acier held Olga's hand as they followed closely behind.

When they reached the submarine, Sanders looked at the two and said, "You're more familiar with this place, so lead the way. Don't get any funny ideas—I'm only here for the pure gold." As he spoke, he pointed to a large tree nearby.

Crack!

The thick tree fell instantly, split cleanly by a bolt of lightning.

The thunderous noise startled the father and daughter, and they turned their gaze to the fallen tree, their eyes wide with shock.

"This... what kind of power is this? He can summon lightning?"

If such a force hit them, they wouldn't even stand a chance of survival.

"Let's go. Lead the way to the third stomach," Sanders ordered as he leapt aboard the submarine, revealing just a hint of his power.

Olga and Myskina Acier exchanged a glance and quickly boarded the submarine as well.

With Olga and Myskina Acier guiding him, Sanders quickly reached the third stomach.

This area had once been the location of the Alchemy Island thatBonborihad swallowed, which was also where Myskina Acier 's laboratory was located.

As Sanders was about to step inside, Myskina Acier stopped him.

"Mr. Sanders, I set up some traps here to prevent anyone from stealing my research. Let me lead the way," Myskina Acier said cautiously.

He didn't want the traps to upset this powerful pirate, especially since the man had powers like summoning lightning and incapacitating dinosaurs instantly. Just entering the lamprey's stomach unscathed was already an indication of his strength.

"Alright," Sanders agreed with a nod.

In reality, those so-called traps probably wouldn't even scratch him—they'd be like a tickle at most.

With Myskina Acier leading the way, they soon arrived at the laboratory.

The lab was filled with experimental equipment, though most were now covered in dust. On a table, a piece of pure gold, larger than a goose egg, rested in a container.

"Mr. Sanders, this is the pure gold from the lab," Myskina Acier said as he handed over the container.

Sanders examined it briefly before sealing it tightly with some metal from the lab, preventing its glow from leaking out.

"Let's go. That's all I need from you," Sanders said, holding the pure gold.

"Have you decided what you'll do once you leave?" he asked.

Myskina Acier and Olga exchanged a look, and in their eyes, they saw each other's uncertainty.

"I rule over a few islands. Once we're out, you're welcome to live there peacefully," Sanders suggested.

Hearing this, Myskina Acier sighed in relief.

If Sanders had claimed he would set them free, Myskina Acier wouldn't have believed it. He might have even been terrified, thinking the pirate would kill them to keep the secret of the pure gold safe.

After all, not only did they know the secret, but Myskina Acier himself was capable of recreating pure gold.

The value of pure gold was beyond imagination; anyone else wouldn't let them go so easily.

"Thank you, Mr. Sanders. We're willing to live within your territory," Myskina Acier said.

Life was life, no matter where it was.

As long as they could leave and live a peaceful life, working for Sanders didn't seem like a bad deal.

"By the way, the disease your daughter has—while it was incurable a hundred years ago—there's now a specific medicine that can completely cure it," Sanders added.

"Really?"

Myskina Acier 's face lit up with joy. A century of waiting had not been in vain. Even without pure gold, his daughter could now grow up healthy.

"Once we're out of here, just head to a large hospital, and they should have the medicine," Sanders continued. "Also, when you're out, keep your mouth shut. Don't bring trouble upon yourself."

If the world knew Sanders possessed pure gold, it would bring endless trouble. For Myskina Acier and Olga, it would be even worse; they had no power to defend themselves against the major forces of the world.

"I understand. I know what to do," Myskina Acier said, nodding repeatedly.

Leaving the laboratory, the group returned to the submarine.

Retracing their steps, Sanders piloted the submarine back to Lamprey's mouth.

"If theBonboridoesn't open its mouth, how do we get out?" Myskina Acier asked anxiously, looking at the massive teeth lining the Lamprey's mouth.

"That's easy."

Sanders opened the submarine's hatch and fired a bolt of lightning into the Lamprey's mouth before quickly sealing the hatch again.

The Lamprey, shocked by the attack, yelped in pain and instinctively opened its mouth wide.

Seizing the opportunity, Sanders maneuvered the submarine out of the Lamprey's mouth.

"We're out!"

Through the submarine's window, Myskina Acier looked at the giganticBonboriin the distance, his face full of excitement. After more than a century, they could finally see the outside world again.

"See that glowing lantern on its head?" Sanders asked, pointing to the golden light emitting from the Lamprey's lantern.

"There's a massive amount of pure gold inside. That's what drew it to swallow you.

"Throughout history, as long as pure gold shines, this fish will come to swallow it and store it in its lantern.

"That's the origin of the legend claiming pure gold brings a curse. There's no actual curse—this giant fish is the real reason," Sanders explained.

He wanted to dispel any lingering concerns Myskina Acier might have.

Sanders knew Myskina Acier assumed his suggestion to live in his territory was a ploy to make him research more pure gold. In truth, the one piece Sanders had obtained was more than enough for him.

A piece of pure gold the size of a sesame seed could grant immortality, and he had obtained enough to divide into hundreds, even thousands, of sesame-sized pieces.

"There's so much pure gold inside that lantern that I'll never need more. That's why I only took this one piece," Sanders said, holding up the sealed container.

"My suggestion for you to live in my territory is just that—a suggestion. I don't want you to work for me or make more pure gold. You're free to accept or decline."

Myskina Acier glanced at the Lamprey's glowing lantern, then lowered his head in thought. After a moment, he said, "We've been out of touch with the outside world for over a hundred years. Living in Mr. Sanders' territory seems like the best choice."

Sanders had made his intentions clear, so Myskina Acier no longer felt any hesitation.

Living in a completely unfamiliar place wasn't appealing. Following Sanders seemed safer—at least for now, Sanders had shown no malice.

"Fine. If you live in my territory and ever want to leave, you can go anytime," Sanders said with a nod.

The submarine began to ascend, soon reaching the ocean's surface.

Opening the hatch, Sanders transformed the submarine back into a small boat.

Myskina Acier and his daughter stood on the deck, feeling the sea breeze and savoring the salty air.

They looked up at the sun in the sky, still finding the experience somewhat surreal. In just half a day, they had escaped from within Lantern Lord's body—a feat unimaginable during the past hundred years.

"There are rooms on the ship; pick whichever you like," Sanders said. "There's clothing and food in the cabin. Help yourselves, but make sure to remove any traces of Alchemy from yourselves, so you don't draw unnecessary trouble." He pointed at Olga's outfit, adorned with alchemical patterns.

"I understand. Thank you, Mr. Sanders," Myskina Acier responded gratefully.

"It's no big deal," Sanders replied with a wave of his hand as he headed to his own room.

Once inside, Sanders locked the room completely and retrieved the container holding the pure gold. Its dazzling glow filled the entire room.

Carefully, Sanders cut off a grain-sized piece of the pure gold. Using his Fusion-Fusion Fruit ability, he crafted a ring and embedded the gold fragment on the inside of the ring before slipping it onto his finger.

He closed his eyes and focused on sensing his body. After a long while, he opened his eyes, his brows furrowed. The radiant pure gold didn't seem to cause any visible change, and he couldn't discern how it granted immortality. However, Sanders didn't dwell on it. As long as it worked, the mechanism didn't matter. Confirming its authenticity was enough.

He proceeded to craft several more rings, sealing the remaining chunk of pure gold in metal and storing both it and the rings in a secure container.

With everything settled, Sanders finally exited his room. By this time, Myskina Acier and Olga had finished freshening up and had changed into clean clothes. Olga's clothes, clearly hastily tailored, didn't fit well.

When Sanders appeared, Myskina Acier approached him. "Mr. Sanders, I've burned Olga's clothes. Aside from the patterns on her ring, there's nothing left that could link us to Alchemy."

Sanders nodded and gestured for Olga to extend her hand. With a touch, the alchemical script on her ring transformed into the standard language of the Pirate World, spelling out Olga's name.

"All done. From now on, don't take off the ring," Sanders said softly.

Then, he handed Myskina Acier a small box. "Here's your ring. Like your daughter's, it's embedded with pure gold."

Sanders had no intention of reclaiming Olga's ring; such a small piece wasn't worth his notice. However, without a ring, Myskina Acier would inevitably age and die within a few decades, while Olga would remain unchanged.

"Whether you want immortality or choose to age naturally is up to you," Sanders continued. "If you ever decide you don't want immortality, just toss the ring into the sea. Lantern Lord will naturally retrieve it."

Myskina Acier hesitated briefly before accepting the box. Though he had already lived for over two centuries, he wanted to keep living. For nearly 200 years, his life had been one of solitude. Now, with his daughter alive and their estrangement resolved, he wished to enjoy the days ahead with her.

As Sanders had said, if there ever came a time when he no longer desired immortality, he could simply discard the ring into the sea. With Lantern Lord around, there was no need to worry about others dying in battles over the pure gold.

Having accomplished his goal, Sanders began piloting the ship back to his base. This venture had been incredibly rewarding—not only had his strength increased, but he had also obtained the legendary pure gold, capable of granting immortality.

The next step was to use this pure gold to recruit the subordinates he wanted.

For instance, Bartholomew Kuma.

For the sake of his daughter, Kuma was willing to become a mindless experimental subject. Recruiting him as a subordinate should be relatively easy. After all, Sanders not only had pure gold, which could halt Bonney's illness, but also possessed the abilities of the Healing-Healing Fruit and the Operation-Operation Fruit.

When it came to curing ailments, who could surpass the Thunder Pirates?
