Chapter 30: CH 30: HANCOCK VS REAR ADMIRAL
While the clash between Yuji and Momonga raged near the port, another fierce battle was unfolding nearby. The battlefield was chaotic, but amidst the noise and confusion, Boa Hancock stood poised like a queen surveying her court. Her piercing gaze was fixed on the Rear Admiral in front of her a burly man with a muscular build, wielding a massive double-edged glaive.
Hancock's usual air of aloof elegance masked the calculating sharpness in her eyes. "You dare to challenge me," she said coldly, though her tone carried no sense of urgency or concern.
The Rear Admiral, named Zarvan, leveled his weapon and smirked.
Hancock tilted her head slightly, her long, raven-black hair cascading over her shoulder. "Justice, you say? Let us see if your so called justice can resist the might of my beauty."
Without waiting for another word, Zarvan rushed forward, his glaive gleaming with armament haki. The ground trembled beneath his charge, his weapon slicing through the air in a deadly arc.
Hancock's movements were as fluid as water, effortlessly avoiding Zarvan's heavy strike with a graceful sidestep. Her heels clicked against the ground as she pivoted, her right leg snapping up in a high kick aimed at Zarvan's face.
"Slave Arrow!" she declared, releasing a flurry of pink heart-shaped arrows from her leg.
'So a devil fruit user, this could get dangerous for me. I should finish this as soon as possible' The rear admiral though when he saw Hancock Slave arrow
Zarvan reacted quickly, spinning his glaive to deflect the projectiles. The arrows collided with the haki coated weapon, exploding into bursts of energy, but leaving the Rear Admiral unharmed.
"Your tricks won't work on me," Zarvan said, his smirk growing.
Hancock narrowed her eyes but remained calm. "Oh? Then let us see how long you can keep up."
She lunged forward, her speed catching Zarvan off guard. With a swift roundhouse kick, she aimed for his ribs. Zarvan barely managed to block it with the shaft of his glaive, but the sheer force of the impact sent him sliding back several meters.
Zarvan growled, planting his feet firmly on the ground to halt his momentum. "You're faster than I expected," he admitted.
He swung his glaive in a wide arc, the blade glowing with haki. The attack sent a crescent shaped shockwave barreling toward Hancock, tearing through the ground as it approached.
Hancock remained composed, her Observation Haki guiding her movements. With a graceful leap, she somersaulted over the shockwave, landing elegantly on her feet.
"Pathetic," she said, her voice dripping with disdain.
Zarvan's frustration grew, and he charged again, his glaive spinning in a deadly blur. Hancock weaved through his attacks like a serpent, her movements calculated and precise. She retaliated with a series of swift kicks, each one aimed at a vital point.
Zarvan managed to block most of her strikes, but one kick slipped through his defense, landing squarely on his shoulder. The force of the impact sent him stumbling back, and a small portion of his shoulder began to turn to stone.
"What?!" Zarvan exclaimed, his eyes wide with shock.
Hancock smirked, her confidence radiating. "Did you think my powers were limited to mere arrows? Every strike carries my curse."
Zarvan growled, shaking off his momentary panic. "Curse or not, I'll cut you down!"
He leapt into the air, bringing his glaive down with immense force. Hancock sidestepped the attack, the blade slamming into the ground and leaving a deep crater.
Before Zarvan could recover, Hancock struck again, her movements a blur. She unleashed a powerful combination of kicks and palm strikes, her elegance and ferocity in perfect harmony.
Despite the overwhelming skill and power Hancock displayed, Zarvan refused to back down. He roared, releasing a burst of haki that momentarily pushed her back.
Hancock's expression remained unshaken as she adjusted her stance. "Is that all?" she asked, her tone icy.
Zarvan charged again, his glaive glowing brighter with haki. The two clashed in a flurry of strikes, their attacks creating shockwaves that echoed across the battlefield.
Hancock's Observation Haki allowed her to anticipate Zarvan's moves, while her Armament Haki reinforced her strikes. Zarvan, on the other hand, relied on his brute strength and resilience to withstand her onslaught.
As the battle reached its climax, Hancock decided it was time to end it. She leapt back, creating some distance between herself and Zarvan.
"*Pistol Kiss!*" she declared, blowing a large heart-shaped projectile toward him.
Zarvan swung his glaive, shattering the heart into fragments. But Hancock used the moment of distraction to close the distance, her movements so fast they seemed almost instantaneous.
With a powerful upward kick, she struck Zarvan square in the chest. The impact sent him flying backward, and the area where her foot connected began to turn to stone.
Zarvan crashed into the ground, gasping for breath as the petrification spread across his body.
Hancock stood over him, her expression as cold and regal as ever. "This is the consequence of underestimating me," she said, turning on her heel and walking away.
