'Boom!'
In the heart of Sabaody Archipelago, a city notorious for its human trafficking—despite it being explicitly outlawed by the World Government—the ceiling of the human auction house, a place frequented by wealthy merchants and even Celestial Dragons, suddenly exploded.
Debris rained down as massive chunks of rubble fell, filling the room with chaos.
'Boom!'
In an instant, Issho wrapped his right hand in Haki. With one swift motion, he tore the explosive collar from his neck, hurling it into the air where it detonated harmlessly.
'Swish!'
With a blur of movement, Issho appeared beside the terrified mermaid in her water tank, whisking her away to the safety of the backstage.
"What just happened?" Issho asked aloud, his expression unreadable except for the subtle trembling of his blind eyes. Though sightless, his mastery of Observation Haki allowed him to perceive the chaos around him, sensing every movement and emotion. However, something was off.
His senses were being disrupted.
Though he knew an attack had been launched, its source was obscured, as though his Observation Haki couldn't penetrate a particular area. This left Issho deeply unsettled.
What kind of power could block even Haki?
Issho's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps. From the shadows of the backstage, a figure emerged—its Rayleigh. He stepped forward with a knowing smile, the corners of his mouth curling slightly upward.
"So, you've finally acted, Issho," Rayleigh said with a warm grin.
"I hesitated for too long, weighed down by my fears of the Celestial Dragons," Issho replied, his voice filled with shame. "Only amidst this chaos did I find the resolve to save her."
Issho's face reflected his internal conflict. He wasn't just worried about the repercussions of defying the Celestial Dragons. Rescuing a slave marked by them would pit him directly against the World Government. It was practically a death sentence.
More than that, it would likely crush his dreams of joining the Marines—of protecting civilians in the way he had hoped.
But Issho had no regrets.
How could he remain indifferent in the face of such evil? If he looked the other way now, how could he ever claim to uphold his ideals of justice? What good was joining the Marines if it meant compromising his soul?
No. He couldn't live with that.
His right hand slowly became enveloped in Armament Haki, a look of calm determination settling on his face.
"You've done well," Rayleigh said gently, a trace of admiration in his voice.
Rayleigh, too, had mastered Observation Haki and could easily sense Issho's inner turmoil. Though he had only known Issho for a short time, Rayleigh could tell that this man was righteous to the core.
But it was clear that Issho was conflicted—he still hoped to join the Marines, an organization that claimed to serve justice yet was controlled by the corrupt World Government.
Yet despite those concerns, Rayleigh could see that Issho had found peace in his decision. And that only deepened Rayleigh's respect for him.
'Boom!'
Rayleigh's right hand, glowing with Haki, effortlessly removed the collar from the mermaid's neck, flinging it into the air where it exploded harmlessly.
"Looks like I've become your accomplice now," Rayleigh said with a wry smile.
Issho blinked in surprise. "Why are you getting involved in this?"
From the moment a Celestial Dragon placed his bid, the mermaid was effectively property of the Celestial Dragons. Freeing her meant openly defying the World Government. This was no small act—it would place a target on both their backs.
For a brief moment, Issho wondered who this man standing before him truly was. He could sense the strength radiating from him but didn't know that this was a man of legend.
"Why am I involved?" Rayleigh mused, smiling mysteriously. "Before I retired, the World Government had been after me for decades."
He paused, the smile on his lips widening.
"And as for why I've stepped in now... I'd say it's fate."
Issho looked at him in confusion. "Fate?"
Rayleigh's grin deepened. His intuition, which had guided him throughout his long life, had led him to this moment.
Meanwhile, the auction house was in complete chaos.
"Protect the Celestial Dragons!" shouted the frantic servants, fearing for their lives. If anything happened to the Celestial Dragons, not only would they be executed, but their families would be wiped out too.
"Charlos!" Saint Rosward, Charlos' father, roared in fury as a massive boulder fell from above, threatening to crush his son, who stood frozen in terror.
'Boom!'
But before the boulder could make contact, a figure stepped forward, effortlessly catching it with one hand.
"If you die now, things would get... boring," the mysterious figure said with a deep chuckle, standing with his back to the auction house.
Rayleigh's pupils shrank as he recognized the figure, his lips curling into a knowing smile.
"So, that's why my intuition was buzzing..." he murmured.
Issho, sensing the shift in Rayleigh's emotions, grew serious. "What's wrong? You seem happy. Who is this person? His aura is powerful, even stronger than yours."
Issho's Observation Haki could sense the immense strength of this new figure. Just standing there, the man exerted an oppressive pressure that few in the world could match.
Rayleigh's grin widened. "Looks like the fate you sensed has arrived."
Issho's expression turned to one of shock. "Him?"
Meanwhile, Rosward, oblivious to the greater forces at play, cried out with joy, "Well done! Who are you? You will be rewarded for saving Charlos!"
The figure turned slightly, his mouth curving into a disdainful smile.
"Reward? The nerve of you," he scoffed. "Trash."
The words echoed through the auction house, sending shockwaves through the crowd.
He had called the Celestial Dragons—these so-called "gods"—'trash'.
The entire room went silent, every attendee staring in disbelief.
Had someone just... insulted the Celestial Dragons?
"What a grand entrance, Portgas D. Ace."
The corners of Rayleigh's mouth lifted into a faint smile.
Issho's expression stiffened.
Portgas D. Ace? The Fifth Emperor of the Sea? What was he doing here at a human trafficking auction, calling the Celestial Dragons 'trash'?
"Buzz!"
At that moment, several striking figures appeared in the corners of the venue, each holding image-transmission den-den mushis that emitted a mysterious glow.
"Buzz!"
The light from these den-den mushis intensified.
Naval Headquarters!
The Sabaody Archipelago!
Mariejois!
East Blue!
Alabasta!
Every communication den-den mushi Ace passed by on his journey transformed into a video-transmission den-den mushi, broadcasting the events unfolding at the auction house.
Meanwhile, Nami and the others concentrated on the den-den mushi in their hands, wrapped in the same mysterious light, amplifying the broadcast to reach even more den-den mushi across the globe.
West Blue, North Blue, South Blue, the Grand Line, the New World... The entire world, in an instant, witnessed the same scene being broadcasted.
---
New World, Whitebeard Pirates
"Buzz!"
A den-den mushi trembled and projected a live feed.
"Dad, what's this?!" Marco asked, startled, turning to Whitebeard.
"It seems someone forcibly hijacked the transmission... this kind of thing happened in Alabasta from the investigation, didn't it?" Whitebeard replied, his voice calm but laced with intrigue. "Although back then, the broadcast only affected Alabasta, and the World Government did everything to suppress the incident."
He paused, a grin forming on his face.
"But now... it looks like it's aimed directly at me."
Whitebeard let out a hearty laugh. "I see him. So that's Portgas D. Ace."
Marco looked up, his eyes widening. "Ace? Here, now? At a Celestial Dragons auction?"
Whitebeard's interest deepened, a glint in his eyes. "Whatever means he's used to broadcast this... it's not just local. This should be global."
---
Red Hair Pirates, on their way to the Sabaody Archipelago
"Hm?"
Shanks stared at the den-den mushi, eyes narrowing as it transmitted the image of Ace standing before the Celestial Dragons.
"This... is the same as what happened in Alabasta," Beckman noted, exhaling a puff of smoke as he watched.
"Portgas D. Ace, huh?" Shanks muttered, his lips curving into a small smile.
---
Kaido, on a mountain ridge
Kaido scowled as his communication den-den mushi projected the live feed of the auction.
"That kid..." Kaido's eyes gleamed with a predatory intensity. "What the hell is he planning?"
---
Big Mom, mid-tea party
Big Mom stared at the den-den mushi's projection with bloodshot eyes. "Ace," she growled, recognizing the figure in front of the Celestial Dragons.
---
East Blue, Windmill Village
"Ace! It's Ace!" Luffy yelled, pointing excitedly at the projection coming from the den-den mushi Ace had left behind.
"Ace, you brat... It's good that you're alright..." Dadan's eyes welled with tears as she stared at Ace's figure on the screen.
---
Revolutionary Army Headquarters
"Chief, look, that's my brother, Ace!" Sabo grinned with pride, pointing at the screen.
Even though years had passed, the silhouette of the man on the screen was unmistakable. It was Ace.
"Portgas D. Ace..." Dragon murmured, watching the broadcast. The corner of his mouth lifted slightly. "What is your aim this time, Ace?"
"Whatever it is," Sabo said confidently, "I know it's something good."
Dragon nodded thoughtfully, recalling the conversations he'd had with Sabo since the latter regained his memories.
"I want to see what you plan to declare to the world."
---
Alabasta
"Your Majesty, look at this!"
Chaka stared at the broadcast, shock evident on his face.
"Ah, it's the same as back then. Ace… what bold move will you make this time?" Cobra watched the screen with fond memories and gratitude. It was Ace, after all, who had once used this same tactic to expose Crocodile's treachery and save Alabasta.
Cobra's eyes softened as he noticed Vivi in the corner of the image, holding her own transmission den-den mushi. She had grown into a fine, mature young woman. He smiled in quiet satisfaction.
---
Holy Land, Mariejois
"How is this possible?"
Saint Saturn frowned as the broadcast played in the Holy Land, a place supposedly impervious to such transmissions.
Portgas D. Ace... What is his goal in showing the world this?
"This is reminiscent of the Alabasta incident," Saint Mars grumbled. "But this time, the scale is much larger than just one country. We need to cut the signal, now!"
"We're working on it, but it's not that simple."
"Get the Marines out there! No matter what Portgas D. Ace is planning, we must not let him succeed!"
---
Naval Headquarters
"This... this is...!" Sengoku's voice wavered, eyes glued to the broadcast.
Ace had appeared at a Celestial Dragons auction house, and his target was clear.
The Celestial Dragons!
Sengoku's face broke out in cold sweat as he recognized the fallen figure in the image: Saint Charlos.
"Damn it... how did he manage to bypass our security net and appear in Sabaody!?"
"What is he trying to achieve by broadcasting this?!" Sengoku clenched his fists in frustration, veins bulging on his forehead.
Sengoku looked at the picture played by the den-den mushi, and his pupils shrank when he looked at the back figure standing not far away from a Celestial Dragons who fell to the ground in a panic.
When he saw Charlos, cold sweat flowed down his forehead.
really!
Ace's target is the Celestial Dragons!
Damn it! Are we still a step too late?!
How on earth did they manage to make their carefully deployed security network useless and suddenly appear in the Sabaody Archipelago?!
That bastard!
Moreover, what do Ace want to do when he plays such a picture?!!!
Sengoku's forehead had swollen veins and cold sweat dripping down his face.
"...."
Kuma's eyes flashed.
"Kishishishishishi."
Moria laughed.
Is the big event about to begin?
"T-that bastard! In, at my auction house?!"
Looking at the familiar yet unfamiliar picture, Doflamingo trembled all over.
Ace, why did he appear in his auction house?!
And, that guy, is Celestial Dragons!
Broadcasting this image, what do you want to do, Portgas D. Ace!
Doflamingo looked at Charlos in the picture with bloodshot eyes.
The deep uneasiness almost swallowed Doflamingo up.
"T-this...."
Looking at the person in the picture, lying on the ground, extremely embarrassed, wearing familiar clothes,
Hancock's pretty face, which had always been cold, changed drastically at this moment.
The world's nobles, her long-standing psychological shadow, Celestial Dragons, was trampled like a pig under a man's feet!
Is that man Ace?
Hancock looked at the back standing in front of Celestial Dragons, his beautiful eyes flashing.
At this time, the image on the screen flashed violently.
