Arlong Park.

"Boss, you're really ruthless. You took all the money Nami saved up over so many years," one of the fishmen said, looking at Arlong, who lounged on his chair.

There wasn't a trace of sympathy on his face, only a mocking grin.

"Ruthless? No, I'm the most merciful of all. As long as Nami helps me chart the entire ocean, I'll give her freedom." Arlong grinned, revealing his sharp, shark-like teeth, his eyes gleaming with menace.

"That would take decades!" another fishman exclaimed.

"No! I don't think even a hundred years would be enough!" Arlong added.

"Shahaha!"

The fishmen laughed loudly at Arlong's words, and Arlong himself let out a cruel, unrestrained laugh.

Boom!

"!!!"

In the midst of their laughter, the massive wall of Arlong Park suddenly crumbled under a tremendous force, stunning Arlong and his crew.

"Who's there?!" Arlong's eyes turned bloodshot as he glared at the collapsed wall and the figure emerging from the cloud of dust and smoke.

"You're Arlong, right?" Ace stepped out of the smoke, calm but resolute. Behind him were many of the villagers of Cocoyashi Village.

Nami and Kaya stood by, watching Ace's back with worried expressions.

"Who are you?" Arlong demanded coldly, still sitting in his chair. He didn't care about the villagers—they were just lowly humans. A few fishmen could easily wipe them all out. But this kid in front of him...

For some reason, Arlong felt a strange sense of unease facing this young man.

"My name is Ace. I'm a pirate. And Nami is my navigator. You made my navigator cry, didn't you?" Ace's voice was cold, his eyes fixed on Arlong.

"Oh? Nami is your navigator now? Funny, I didn't know about that." Arlong's cruel smile widened as his bloodshot eyes bore down on Ace.

"You brat, bringing a bunch of weak humans to resist the Arlong Pirates—do you even know what you're getting into?"

Two fishmen stepped forward, ready to attack Ace.

Buzz!

Ace, who had been standing with his head slightly bowed, suddenly lifted it. In an instant, purple-black lightning erupted from him.

Boom!

A terrifying shockwave rippled outward, knocking down every fishman except Arlong. The once arrogant fishmen, who had been grinning moments before, were rendered unconscious in an instant, their eyes rolling back as they collapsed to the ground.

These lowly creatures weren't even worthy of standing in the presence of a King's Conqueror's Haki.

"!!!"

The villagers of Cocoyashi, armed with their crude weapons, stared in shock. The fishmen, who had terrorized them for so long, had all fallen to the ground with just one look from Ace.

"What… what just happened?" Genzo murmured, swallowing hard as he looked at Ace's back in disbelief.

"A-Ace..." Nami's eyes were wide with astonishment, her gaze fixed on Ace. The fishmen, who had terrorized countless villages in the surrounding seas, had been defeated with just a glance from Ace.

The Arlong Pirates, who had made her feel helpless for so long, were crumbling before her very eyes!

Arlong was still standing, but Nami had no doubt—Ace would defeat him. An overwhelming sense of security filled her heart.

Ace, I'm so glad I'm your navigator...

Tears welled in Nami's eyes, sparkling like stars.

"Y-You..."

Arlong's bloodshot eyes widened in shock, his mouth hanging open as he stared at Ace in disbelief.

This power... Could it be the legendary...

Memories of Arlong's days sailing with the Sun Pirates on the Grand Line surfaced in his mind. He remembered the tales of that legendary power, and his entire body began trembling uncontrollably.

"No! It can't be! There's no way this kind of power could exist in a place like the East Blue! Kid! I don't care what kind of trick you pulled to knock out my crew, but I'll chew you to pieces!"

Unwilling to accept the truth, Arlong sprang to his feet, grabbing a large sawblade as he roared in fury.

Boom!

With a single powerful step, Arlong, using his natural fishman strength, transformed into a blur as he charged toward Ace, his sawblade aimed at his head.

The massive blade sliced through Ace's body—

"Shahaha! Kid, you couldn't even keep up with a fishman's speed! Now go to hell and think about your mistakes!" Arlong laughed wildly.

"Ace?!" Nami and Kaya gasped.

Whoosh!

But in that moment, Ace's body turned into roaring flames.

"Your turtle speed?"

As Arlong's expression twisted with fear and Nami and Kaya looked on in surprise, Ace lifted his head and stared at Arlong with icy indifference.

He raised a single finger, now a column of flame, and pointed it directly at Arlong's heart.

"A weak attack like that doesn't even deserve to be dodged," Ace said, a smirk playing on his lips. "Tell me, Arlong... have you ever eaten shark?"

"!!!"

Arlong's body jolted as he instinctively tried to step back.

"Fire Javelin."

Fwoosh!

With a swift motion, a spear of flames shot from Ace's finger and pierced the right side of Arlong's chest, pinning him to the ground.

Arlong screamed in agony as the flames burned through him, but even the searing pain paled in comparison to the fear that now consumed him.

This power...

"L-Logia... You're a Logia devil fruit user!"

Arlong's once ferocious eyes were now filled only with deep, unrelenting terror.
