Arlong Park.
Arlong, who had once ruled East Blue with arrogance and a bounty of 20 million beli, now lay skewered to the ground by a flaming spear that pierced the right side of his chest.
The harsh sound of crackling flames echoed through the air, accompanied by the sickening smell of burning shark flesh.
At this moment, the once-fierce and prideful Arlong stared in terror at the black-haired man standing before him.
"Logia! You're a Logia Devil Fruit user!" Arlong gasped, his voice trembling with fear.
His mind flashed back to the days when he encountered Kizaru, who was then a Vice Admiral, and the horrifying memory of being pierced by the power of the Logia-type Sparkling Fruit.
Logia powers—forces that no ordinary human could ever hope to challenge.
But why?! Why would a Logia user appear in East Blue? And not just any Logia… but one of the most fearsome—flames?
As the searing heat from Ace's flames continued to scorch his body, evaporating the water within him, Arlong's consciousness began to fade.
The power of the Flame-Flame Fruit was a nightmare for fishmen like him.
"If a Logia user's abilities are developed to this extent... then that power from before… it really was…"
Arlong's fear reached its peak. He raised his head, gazing up at the humans he had always deemed inferior.
"Conqueror's Haki!!!"
With those final, fearful words, Arlong's body, dehydrated and scorched, finally collapsed. His back hit the ground with a heavy thud as he lost consciousness.
"!!!"
The villagers of Cocoyashi stood frozen in disbelief.
One strike. It took only a single blow.
The Arlong they had feared for so many years, the pirate who had turned their lives into a living hell, was finished in an instant.
Nami, too, stared blankly at Arlong's defeated form, now nothing more than a roasted shark.
She had known Ace was strong, but she never imagined that Arlong, the most notorious pirate in East Blue with a bounty of 20 million beli, would fall so easily to him.
Arlong, the devil who had oppressed them for so long, had been defeated in mere moments.
"Nami." Ace turned his head slightly, glancing at Nami with a gentle smile. "Your captain's pretty strong, huh?"
Ace grinned brightly.
"Hmm!" Nami nodded vigorously, tears streaming down her face. "Thank you, Captain."
Tears of joy filled her eyes as she smiled through them.
——
Cocoyashi Village.
Cocoyashi Village, once drained of life and hope, was now bustling with celebration. The terror caused by Arlong and his gang had been wiped away, and the few fishmen who hadn't committed any crimes were released after careful discussion among the villagers. They didn't want to tarnish Nami's kind heart.
To celebrate their newfound peace, every household brought out the ingredients they had hidden from Arlong's raids.
The village's best cooks prepared special dishes, each made with care and gratitude for their hero, Ace.
"Nom nom nom!"
Ace, like a human perpetual motion machine, shoveled food into his mouth with abandon, his cheeks bulging with every bite.
"Ace, could you slow down? The chefs can't keep up with you," Nami said, covering her forehead in exasperation.
Kaya giggled softly, covering her mouth as she watched.
"Eat less? How could I do that? This is a banquet, a banquet!" Ace puffed his cheeks indignantly, then resumed devouring the food with gusto.
Thud!
Midway through eating, Ace suddenly collapsed face-first onto the table.
"Hey! Ace!" Nami yelled, panicked.
"Ace!" Kaya echoed, her voice filled with worry.
The villagers of Cocosia all rushed over in alarm.
Whoosh!
To their surprise, Ace immediately began snoring, his head resting on the table.
"He fell asleep?!" The entire village stared at him in stunned silence.
"Ah!"
A few minutes later, to the amazement of the villagers, Ace stretched, yawned, and resumed eating as if nothing had happened.
Thud!
Everyone in the village face-planted onto the ground.
"Don't just fall asleep all of a sudden!" Nami scolded sharply.
"You scared me to death, Ace," Kaya added, still catching her breath.
"Hahaha, sorry, sorry," Ace laughed, not looking the least bit apologetic.
Unlike his usual antics, Ace had improved his stamina and digestion through careful training. By taking brief naps between meals, he could absorb nutrients more efficiently, enabling him to eat more and recover faster.
Normally, this wasn't necessary, but at a banquet like this? Of course, he had to indulge.
"Hehehe."
Nojiko watched the lively scene, Nami playfully scolding Ace while Kaya pretended to help but couldn't hide her smiles.
Nami really found herself a great captain.
By the end of the feast, the village's chefs were all passed out in the kitchen from sheer exhaustion, but with satisfied smiles on their faces. To have fed their village's hero, to have made him happy—that was enough to fill their hearts with joy.
——
That night.
At Nami and Nojiko house, the night was still and quiet.
Creek.
After everyone had fallen asleep, Nojiko opened a window and gazed up at the starry sky.
"You're leaving tomorrow, aren't you? You're finally going to fulfill your dream, Nami," Nojiko whispered softly, a gentle smile gracing her face, the first since Bell-mère's passing.
"Bell-mère, you can rest easy now," she murmured, looking up at the stars as if they were painting Bell-mère's smiling face in the sky.
Still, there was a hint of sadness in Nojiko's heart.
As excited as she was for Nami, the thought of her sister leaving for the open seas left a pang of loneliness. Who knew how long it would be before they saw each other again?
"Nojiko, do you want to go to sea too?" A soft voice broke her thoughts.
Startled, Nojiko turned to see Ace standing at the window, smiling warmly at her.
