Chapter 19: Next Destination!
Chapter 19: Next Destination!
Ken was on his way to another island. His boat was on autopilot, and as for himself, he was in a meditative pose, recalling the events he had just been through.
After the death of the girl's mother, Linda came back to the bar and sat along with Ken, telling him a bit about that woman, some information that not even the girl knew.
It turned out she was intangled in some serious drama because her late husband was part of a seriously powerful crew; thankfully, whoever the perpetrator was had no idea who her daughter was as she kept her hidden, so the girl is in no danger.
One of the reasons Ken was meditating was to know... Why in hell did she mention that to him?
Well, alongside that useless talk, she went back to business. It seems that even the experienced Linda had difficulties in such events where close people went to meet the ones high above.
She talked to Ken about his ideals, trying to know more about him in order to know where exactly he should go, and as she guessed, the young man seemed to need experience more than anything, but she thought that a proper teacher would do him wonders.
It was just a hunch from her side, but if Ken was to get a proper teacher, then his progress, which is already monstrous, will skyrocket.
It will reach such heights that just one teacher will be far from enough. He had limitless potential, which didn't limit him to just one or two fighting styles.
This was something he had yet to realize, as he hadn't delved much into his powers, but he could feel. It wouldn't take long for him to do so, and once that happened...
The world of One Piece wasn't ready for such a figure to make its appearance.
The young man was worried of having an effect on the main story line and was planning on evading it. But when one's power is so great, so does his influence and responsibility. Whether he likes it or not, he will find his fate entangled with those who are meant for greatness.
For now, his destination was an island without a name. It wasn't known by many people in the first place, and those who had gone there mostly never came back, but Linda knew much more, and she naturally knew of the dangers.
That is why she sent him there. She sent him to an island where danger was rampant, and entering it wasn't nearly as hard as leaving, and once he goes in, only his strength will allow him to go out.
Still, one thing was sure. The young man wouldn't be the same after. His very instinct told him so, and he would be lying to say he wasn't excited.
Still, he was thankful to Linda, a woman with a similar story to himself, which allowed him to feel a connection, a connection that would make him have to go back to the same island many times to benefit from.
The information she could give him for now... was still not something he could get himself. So for as long as he still needed it, he would keep going back to that island.
Time passed, and before Ken knew it, he had arrived. A few weeks had passed but still, there was quite a distance from the Pirate Haven, which he had only spent 2 days in.
He looked ahead, and...
Darkness...
"Is there even an island here?" He thought.
He was told that going in isn't as easy as going out, but that didn't mean that even going in was hard, did it?
But that's when he remembered... Some words Linda told him.
"The island was shrouded in fog. If you don't know the correct way to enter it, then you won't ever be able to leave. Let me tell you something. There are four guardians on that island, one of which is the most dangerous. If you go from his side, then leaving is impossible. The other four, though, are either slow, lazy, or kind." He thought back to what Linda told him.
"Whichever zone you choose, don't enter from the side with the high mountain." And so, following the lady's words, he gazed up and saw that there indeed was a mountain that pierced through the fog and the clouds on top, but it was still a bit to the left.
Yet, just to be safe, he went to the opposite side; only then did he start looking for a place to park his boat.
Putting it in ghost mode after. He left and looked up at the island once more.
"The island enshrouded in fog, huh?"
