One Piece: I Understand It Now

Chapter 20: From Here on, Caution is Mandatory!

Chapter 20: From Here on, Caution is Mandatory!

On Ken's shoulder was a sack. It held mostly water and some rations. While he could find food on the island, water... it was difficult to know.

Still, he wasn't worried about dying of hunger.

It had been around 30 minutes since he had been here, and so far he only walked inside.

He was cautious! Beyond cautious! Especially after he felt the presence of the monster Linda was talking about.

He was on the side of the kind monster, but kind or not, a beast is always a beat, and the terrifying air emitted from it made Ken shiver nonstop until he left that area.

He could feel it, and it could see him too. This, he was sure of.

He had a hard time even breathing, and this only made him curse and know just how weak he was on this island.

Still knowing one piece, he had some worries. What if these beasts had a reason for being here? And what if whoever put them here was also in this place?

If such a person turned out to be here, where exactly would he be?

The center. Ken looked up and gazed at it.

That was another area he would completely evade.

Right now he was still in the north of the island and this was where he planned to stay for a long time.

The mood was heavy, and the air was suffocating, and every step one took made them feel as if they were going to fall in an endless pitch.

Was this the case since the beginning? No. At first, it was a rock area with a little dark fog, then gray grass appeared and the second tree showed up; this happened.

Every area was around 10 minutes away from each other, or around 1 mile, as that was how fast Ken moved.

Now, he could feel the threat of the island, he could feel the breath of the beasts in here, although weaker than the first, and he could feel his heart beating in excitement.

The gloomy air hit right at home, and he felt his brain getting calmer and his thoughts running smoothly as if his very powers had an affinity with this place.

Such an idea was completely wrong. More than his powers being connected to this place, it was more like him being familiar with such environments.

Ken was too far gone for an individual to enjoy a normal person's life. Having a house, having friends, and passing time doing idle stuff... He would rather die.

But such an idea came from his not being able to understand the essence of all of this. It was a different mentality and a different experience of life.

It wasn't that he enjoyed hardships or toxic places. He just felt at ease when he went back to zero... The sound of silence, the loneliness, and the darkness.

Speaking of darkness... Was it just him or did something- No. Somethings just move?

*Grrrrrrr*

"Finally." ken put his hand on his katana and looked at the endless red dots that had appeared on his field of vision.

Wolves. A pack of them.

All had sensed him from a few miles away and came running in hope of getting the first taste of this delicious treat.

They weren't just any wolves.

*Fwshhh* *BOOM*

They launched themselves at the trees to use them as tools to gain momentum for their speed.

"Strong." Ken murmured.

It didn't seem like this fight would be easy.

These wolves were both smart, fast, and as buff as a bull.
