Chapter 168: Shocking Reveleations II
"So?"
"We came with two purposes…"
"Two? I thought it was just one, Dragon" Ivankov and Kuma frowned.
"One was to stop Crocodile… but you have already done that. You may not know but Ali once belonged to our organisation".
"I told you from the start I had no interest in being a revolutionary, Dragon. I was just paying a debt that's all" Crocodile dismissed him, by now I can put two and two together myself. Ivankov transformed Crocodile into a woman in order to flee from the government's pursuit and in order to repay that favour, she accepted to temporarily work for the revolutionaries.
As stingy as she is though, once she thought she had repaid her debt, she dropped ships.
"I think you have already realised so I won't explain myself, you're a clever one anyway, Veyron" She said, acting all haughty although I was still carrying her like a sack of potatoes.
"I was going to stop you if you intended to kill him, no, her… you seem to already know".
"You don't need to worry about this Kingdom. It is under my care. And Crocodile is mine, of course I wouldn't kill her".
"Shut up, who is yours?"
"You forgot what I told you before?"
"I'll at most be your retainer, not your slave!"
"Since when is it up to the slave to decide whether she's a slave or not?"
"Fufu~ young love~" Ivankov giggled and began an odd little dance.
*PUAG!*
Both Crocodile and I nearly vomited and I hope we both did for the same reason.
"By the way, CrocoGIRL... it seems you don't want to carry on, moreover… some people are willing to risk their lives for you now unlike before. Do you want to go back?" Ivankov asked her; to be a woman again or to remain a man. It was complex.
"…"
Crocodile looked at me, confusing me.
"What?"
"Yes or no?"
"Why are you asking me!?"
"Crocodile or Ali… which?" She asked again as if she was genuinely clueless about what she wanted to be. I heard her story, I can make up a solid registry in my mind of a lot of trauma she may have gone through before and even after transitioning.
Perhaps to her -who could do nothing but try to survive until now- there is no such thing as gender.
"Can't you just be Lady Crocodile…? When you transformed into a giant. You took the form that felt the most natural to you. Isn't that all the answer you need? Do what feels the best for you".
"I see…"
I levitated her in front of Ivankov and she extended her rough manly arm filled with scars instead of her golden hook.
"I don't know what I even am anymore…" She told Ivankov and was ready to continue but the Okama already had some words to say.
"But at least you can figure it out now that you don't have to fight to survive at every corner, Crocogirl. And personally… you look more beautiful as a girl~"
Ivankov may be a weirdo, but he's quite a perspective.
He pinched Crocodile's arm and she groaned before her body began to morph with her clothes becoming loose at some spots and tighter in some other places.
Lady Crocodile turned around to look at me but I was too focused on the ground to see anything.
I don't want to see it. I don't want to be tempted!
"You're Gorgeous, Ali~" said Robin while clapping, clapping... clapping.
"Hmph, who wants your cheap compliment…"
"That's right, you want his, isn't it?~"
"Shut it! I'll go and see my guys… Baroque Works is disbanded from now on, we have lost".
"Is Bon-chan still with you?" Ivankov asked hopefully.
"Of course, he's been very loyal. You can take him back to the Kamabakka Kingdom now, he's helped us, but it is over" Ali looked at me briefly before I lit up another cigarette for her, "I have a place to come back to now".
...
We landed at the entrance of Alubarna and as expected there were lots of topics for us to talk about, dinner tonight was going to be very eventful.
"Ali… there are some of them I want to keep. Bon Clay is one of them".
"Who?"
"Daz, Bon Clay, Gem and Galdino… sweetheart I'll talk to you later, let me sort this out, alright?"
Robin kissed me before taking Ali away in the direction where Vivi and Monet were. The sky-blue-haired beauty was ever confused when she looked at Ali, wondering where that woman had come from.
"Master, is everything finished?"
"Yes, you can do whatever you want as long as you stay close to me, Monet. We will be leaving in a few days".
"Understood, if you need anything just tell me, master. Is this snow cold enough, or would you want it to be a bit warmer?"
"It is okay as it is. I'll get a room for you during the evening".
"I can sleep in the master's room, on the floor... you needn't bother".
"That won't do, you can't sleep on the floor".
"Then I will sleep on the bed".
"On the bed of your room".
"On master's bed".
"No".
Monet sighed before flying away, leaving a snowy gust of grief. I know exactly what she's thinking and it isn't going to happen any time soon.
"You seem to be very comfortable with my daughter" Dragon added offhandedly, shocking not only me but even his own companions.
"Monet is your daughter?!"
There is no way they don't look alike at all! And how could that even happen, they're from completely different seas.
"I'm talking about Nico Robin".
"Robin... Robin?!"
"The Demon Child is your daughter, Dragon?! You never said that!" Before I could scream, Ivankov did it for me. Now that I remember, this guy who is supposed to be Dragon's right-hand doesn't even know at this point that Dragon is Luffy's father.
Are you telling me that Robin and Luffy are siblings!?
"This is exactly why I didn't want to bring the two of you along" He sighed and led me to the nearest building in the snowy city of Alubarna
"Come, there is much to talk about".
