One Piece: My Name is Jack, I'm Very Resistant to Beating

Chapter 49: Chapter 49: Now They're the Same Length

The kings truly had a remarkable trust in Master and placed immense importance on the Eternal Life Ceremony.

As dawn broke, Jack finally saw the castle's true appearance. Compared to the capital of the Wetna Kingdom, Renske, this nameless castle was smaller in size. However, its opulent design rivaled the grandeur of Renske's royal palace.

"Looks like I underestimated these kings. They've got some deep pockets," Jack thought to himself.

The more they valued this ceremony, the harder it would be for the kings to accept the truth—they'd been deceived. Even after witnessing Jack's transformation into a mammoth, charging through the crowd with unstoppable might, the kings refused to back down. Their eyes burned red as they bellowed:

"Attack! All together now! Kill him! We must kill him!"

The soldiers, though fully aware of their imminent demise, charged forward, spurred by thoughts of their families. Their courage was commendable. The outcome was tragic.

The weapons in their hands couldn't so much as scratch Jack. With a single stomp, several unlucky soldiers were reduced to pulp. Eventually, Jack shifted back into his human form, wielding his giant tusk as he cut through the ranks.

As the body count rose, some soldiers began to flee. One by one, they ran in every direction. Despite the kings' desperate shouts, fewer and fewer were willing to stand against Jack. Until…

"Father! Please take care of my five wives! Run!"

Thud!

With one swing of his weapon, Jack smashed the prince's head. His strength was decent, but no match for Jack.

"My son!"

Among the three crown-wearing kings, the oldest one froze in his tracks at the sound of his son's dying plea. The sight of his son's mangled corpse broke his heart. He drew a decorative sword from his belt, trembling with rage.

But when he met Jack's bloodstained eyes and saw the mammoth tusk dripping with crimson, the old king hesitated. With a heavy stomp of his foot, he shouted, "My son! I'll take care of your five wives—I swear it!"

Five wives? Jack thought. Isn't that your daughter-in-law? Why do you need to take care of them? Also… at your age…

Before Jack could say anything, the old king turned and bolted. For someone his age, he was surprisingly agile, quickly catching up to the other two fleeing kings.

Jack couldn't help but let out a chuckle. "I see now. No wonder. Age hasn't slowed him down at all!"

He hefted his weapon. "Unfortunately, you won't get the chance to prove your endurance."

Just as Jack was about to catch up with the trio, he suddenly stopped in his tracks, raising his tusk to block an incoming strike.

Clang!

Boom!

The force of the blow reverberated through the air. Jack activated his Armament Haki, coating his back just as another attack struck. Two figures emerged, standing between Jack and the kings.

"What incredible defense," said one of the men. "Who are you?"

The speaker had long, flowing hair, streaked with white, and looked to be around fifty years old. His rugged face bore the marks of countless battles, and his weapon of choice—a set of black knuckle dusters—reminded Jack of Black Maria.

For a moment, Jack felt a pang of nostalgia. Maria's smile, her venomous purple mist, the taste of her lips…

"Hey! I asked you a question! Are you with the Beasts Pirates?" the man barked, snapping Jack out of his thoughts.

Jack didn't answer, instead scrutinizing the two newcomers. What caught his attention was that the man with the knuckle dusters only had one leg. His balance and speed were remarkable, enough to put Jack on high alert.

The other man, wielding a longsword, had a plain face and an icy stare that seemed to regard Jack as already dead. Jack scoffed, raising his right hand to wave someone forward.

"Why fight two-on-one? I've got backup. Why waste the effort?"

A cough interrupted the moment as Rim stepped into view.

"My apologies," Rim said, catching Jack's eye. "Still getting used to this healthy body."

After a short pause, Rim drew her blade. "I'll take care of this one! Perfect chance to test my strength."

Without waiting for a response, Rim charged forward, clashing blades with one of the attackers. The kings, seeing this, seized their chance to run.

"Raul! Kill him! You must kill him!" shouted the old king as he fled.

Jack turned just in time to see Raul—the one-legged man—launch a punch at his face. He caught the fist but Raul expertly twisted free, springing over Jack's head with surprising agility and delivering a double punch to Jack's skull.

Boom! Boom!

Jack reeled slightly. A one-legged fighter this fast? Impossible!

Raul's Armament Haki was formidable, and his knuckle-duster techniques were on another level—far surpassing Black Maria. But despite his skill, the single leg put him at a disadvantage. Gradually, Raul began to falter.

"Ha… ha…" Raul panted, his lone leg trembling under the strain. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, the result of Jack's earlier blows.

Jack, barely winded, smirked. "You're good, Raul. Ever think about joining the Beasts Pirates? With your skill, you could be one of our top officers. Name your price—I can make it happen."

Raul laughed bitterly. "Join you? Do you even know who took my leg? It was your captain—Kaido!"

His voice rose with fury. "Join the Beasts Pirates? Sure! But only if you can make my legs the same length again! How about that, huh? Can you do that, idiot?!"

Jack's smile disappeared. Without a word, he raised his tusk and slammed it down on Raul's remaining leg.

Thud!

Raul let out a scream of pain as Jack struck again and again. Finally, Jack grabbed Raul's leg and tore it off with a sickening crunch.

"Now they're the same length," Jack muttered, dropping the severed limb to the ground.
