Chapter 5: Devil Fruit User!
Just as Reinhardt and Jackson said, tonight, for a few people, was truly a sleepless night.
In a small part of Loguetown, inside the villa, Brad, a backward official of the Ulysses family, anxiously paced back and forth, his mouth trembling as he muttered in horror:
"He wants to kill me! He wants to kill me! He wants to kill me!!"
That kid... turns out to be a Devil Fruit user!!
Every time Brad thought about it, his heart filled with fear.
If he had known this beforehand, there was no way he would have dared to oppose that kid.
How many Devil Fruit users are there in the entire East Blue?
Which Devil Fruit users are easy to deal with?
Remembering how he had no ability to resist and had nearly been strangled by Reinhardt, Brad's face turned pale. That terrifying power... he had no way to counter it!
Not to mention that later, that kid could even defeat the entire Black Claw gang in an instant. This level of power was something the East Blue should never have!
It was truly terrifying.
Really, really terrifying!
That kid wants to kill me, and I have no means of resistance.
It's over. It's definitely over.
Knock knock knock.
Suddenly, the front door was knocked.
Brad was so frightened that he immediately curled up and fell to the ground. The imposing figure of the tall man was actually startled by the sharp voice of a woman, "No, don't kill me!!"
The person outside the door spoke, "It's me."
Only then did Brad believe that it wasn't Reinhardt coming to kill him. He scrambled to his feet and staggered over to open the door. "It's you? What do you want?"
The person outside said, "We know what you're afraid of. Cooperate, or we'll all die."
"Huh?"
Brad froze for a moment, then his expression suddenly changed, "It's you —"
In the back streets of Loguetown, in a dark corner, was also the Black Claw gang's base.
The once arrogant Black Claw gang was now in an indescribable silence after Tian Han's arrival.
"What exactly are they doing?"
A Black Claw official couldn't help but speak up.
Even if they were Devil Fruit users, it was impossible for them to silently knock out over a hundred of them in an instant, right?
If the Ulysses family really had such power, they wouldn't have been able to resist for this long.
Could it be that ——
"Is it really that little white-faced kid doing this?"
This is truly terrifying.
If the Ulysses family has such a frightening leader, the Black Claw gang is really in danger.
Wolf remained silent.
The usually generous man was unusually quiet today.
He thought of Reinhardt's smiling face, and his entire body couldn't help but tremble.
Everyone else had passed out, but he had stayed awake. He simply couldn't forget the overwhelming sense of fear and dizziness that had come from deep within.
It was like struggling with a massive sea king!
"Boss, we've received a message from over there."
At this moment, a thug hurried over, whispering in Wolf's ear, "They hope to cooperate with us again."
"..."
After a brief silence, Wolf shook his head, sneering coldly, "A dog can't stop eating poop. It makes sense, with that kid's strength, they must be terrified. This is a good thing for us."
"But boss..."
The thug said, "They say that kid is a Devil Fruit user, you saw his performance earlier, how are we going to deal with him?"
"A Devil Fruit user? Although they are rare, he's not the only one! You guys go contact another gang. We've cooperated with them before, and they should agree again this time. Don't think we're going to carry the whole burden ourselves!"
Wolf stood up, "As for me, I'm going to the Barto Club!"
Naval Base.
"That kid is really a Devil Fruit user, huh?"
While playing cards and listening to his subordinate report, Colonel Francklin spat out a puff of smoke. "Sigh, troublesome kid. What did the department over there say? How's the intelligence on him over the years?"
The subordinate replied, "Ulysses - Reinhardt has kept a very low profile these past few years, and our department doesn't have much record on him. However, there are a few things we can confirm."
"He's been through the Grand Line and has stayed there for many years."
"Sigh, no wonder."
Francklin lightly twitched the corner of his mouth. "This kid is definitely not your standard East Blue type. He enters the Grand Line, then returns... Is it just because he was in a hurry to attend a funeral, or is he simply accepting defeat and too scared to keep pushing forward?"
The subordinate said, "Colonel, shouldn't we do something? With his strength, it's likely that no one in Loguetown can stop him."
"Don't rush. Isn't there another Devil Fruit user in the underworld of Loguetown? Let them handle it for now."
Francklin said casually, "Besides, who isn't a Devil Fruit user?"
"However, keep an eye on them for me. We must avoid this spilling over and causing trouble for the ordinary people."
"Understood."
Nothing happened that night.
The next morning, Reinhardt sluggishly opened his eyes. The sunlight filtered through the curtains, bringing a faint light into the room.
Reinhardt sat up, the blanket slipping off to reveal his strong, muscular body.
He got out of bed, his naked body walking over to the window. He pulled the curtain open, and the warm sunlight immediately touched his face.
Outside the window, the sun had risen. After a night of heavy rain, the sky was clear, with no clouds in sight, and the sunlight was radiant.
"Good weather. Really good weather."
