One Piece: Take the Uchiha Clan to the Grand Line

Chapter 144: The Demon Crocodile

---

"Ugh… Ugh…"

Crocodile struggled with all his might, but how could his strength compare to Uchiha Kitaro's? The blood slid down his throat, forcing him to swallow it.

After about ten drops, Kitaro released him. The wound on his finger instantly healed as though it had never existed.

"Cough, cough! Damn brat! What did you just do?!" Crocodile roared in frustration.

Kitaro's face lit up with a smile. "Oh, nothing much. Just lending you a hand."

"Lend me a hand?" Crocodile's face twisted in confusion.

Before he could understand, his body began to heat up. It felt as though his very skin was on fire.

"So… hot… so hot… AARGH!!!"

Crocodile's agonized screams echoed through the dungeon. He writhed on the floor, thrashing violently, banging his head against the cold stone ground as the searing pain consumed him. His bloodcurdling cries filled the air, instilling fear in anyone who heard them.

Finally, the torment subsided. Crocodile lay still, his breathing heavy, his body drenched in sweat. His wounds began to heal at an astonishing speed, and his eyes shifted—his pupils transformed into vertical slits like those of a beast.

"This… What is this?" Crocodile gasped, his voice trembling as he examined his rejuvenated body.

"How does it feel?" Kitaro asked calmly.

"It feels… incredible. I've never felt better! Thank you, Lord Kitaro!"

Crocodile dropped to one knee and bowed deeply. His memories of his former life were now hazy, but one thing was clear—this man before him was his master.

"Good. Get out of here yourself," Kitaro ordered.

"Yes, my lord!"

Without hesitation, Crocodile severed his own arm, freeing himself from the Sea Prism Stone shackles. To his astonishment, his arm regrew instantly, the flesh knitting together as if nothing had happened.

He repeated the process with his other arm, cutting it off and allowing it to regenerate. Within moments, he was free.

A moment later, Kitaro and Crocodile arrived on a deserted island. Kitaro handed Crocodile a Den Den Mushi.

"Go now. Conquer the New World. Build your own empire. I don't expect you to become Pirate King, but at the very least, you must rise to the status of a Yonko. Do you understand?"

"Yes, my lord!" Crocodile declared resolutely.

Unlike Whitebeard's crew or others of their kind, Crocodile was now a true demon, immune to sunlight. Kitaro had bestowed upon him the regenerative abilities of an Upper Moon demon, coupled with the power to grow stronger through devouring others.

In essence, Crocodile had become indistinguishable from the demons of the Demon Slayer world—except for his newfound resistance to sunlight.

Originally, Kitaro had intended to kill Crocodile and transfer his Sand-Sand Fruit ability to Uchiha Fugaku. But now, he had abandoned that plan.

Even if Fugaku gained the fruit's power, his potential would remain limited. It was far more advantageous to transform Crocodile into a loyal demon under his control.

Crocodile possessed ambition, cunning, and strength. Killing him outright would be a waste.

Moreover, there were tasks that Uchiha Security couldn't openly undertake—but a pirate like Crocodile could.

With Kitaro aiming to infiltrate the Navy as an admiral, having a Yonko as his subordinate would create an unstoppable trifecta of influence across the Marines, the Yonko, and the Shichibukai.

The Uchiha clan's power would grow to unprecedented levels.

At that point, what would the World Government amount to? The Celestial Dragons would be nothing. The Uchiha clan would reign supreme.

On the Deserted Island

Crocodile began constructing a raft. Using his Sand-Sand Fruit abilities, he effortlessly assembled a sturdy craft with impressive craftsmanship.

Setting out to sea, he drifted for days until a pirate ship appeared on the horizon.

"Hahaha! Look what we've got here, boys! Someone out on a raft? Who does this guy think he is?"

"Yeah! The Great Pirate Era sure brought out all kinds of idiots. Doesn't he know a wave or a Sea King could swallow him whole?"

"Think he's dead already? Just sitting there not moving."

"Let's find out!"

Bang!

A gunshot echoed as one of the pirates fired at Crocodile. The bullet pierced his head, yet he didn't flinch.

"Did you miss? At this range? Useless idiot. Let me show you how it's done."

Bang!

Another pirate fired, hitting Crocodile square in the head.

Still, no reaction.

Crocodile's eyes opened slowly. His gaze fell upon the pirates, and a savage hunger awakened within him.

"You… look delicious," he growled, his lips curling into a bloodthirsty smile.

Whoosh!

His body disintegrated into sand and reformed on the pirate ship.

"Wha—what the hell?!"

The pirates screamed in terror.

"That's… Crocodile! Former Warlord of the Sea! He was captured by Uchiha Shisui! How is he here?!"

Before they could react further, Crocodile raised his hand, forming a massive mouth of sand that engulfed one of the pirates.

"AAAAHHHH!"

The man's screams were cut short as his body vanished into the sand.

The remaining pirates froze, paralyzed with fear.

"A… A monster!"

Crocodile showed no mercy. One by one, the pirates fell to his deadly sand, their bodies consumed entirely.

As he devoured them, Crocodile felt his power grow. The thrill of his newfound strength made him laugh uncontrollably.

"Guhahaha! The Yonko… The Pirate King… The New World… I'm coming! GUHAHAHAHA!"
