Chapter 176: Quest Reward: Rinnegan
-----
"What did you say?!"
Golden Lion Shiki froze for a moment upon hearing those words.
Thwack!
Before he could react, Uchiha Kitaro's finger pierced straight through Shiki's forehead.
"You..."
Shiki's eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at Kitaro. He couldn't comprehend it—why would the one who saved him, suddenly kill him? If Kitaro wanted him dead, why not finish him off in the depths of Impel Down instead of going through all this trouble?
Shiki had so many questions, but it was too late. His consciousness faded, and he plunged into eternal darkness.
Kitaro pulled his finger out of Shiki's forehead.
A small, gaping wound remained, but shockingly, it began to heal slowly. That was because Kitaro had left a few drops of his own blood in Shiki's brain.
Soon, Shiki's body began to transform. His nails elongated into sharp claws, and his already tall stature grew even larger. Miraculously, his severed legs started regenerating.
In no time, a demonic figure of Shiki stood before Kitaro.
Shiki knelt on one knee, bowing. "Master!"
Kitaro nodded in satisfaction. The Shiki standing before him now was no longer the same person as before.
This Shiki was a demon, entirely under Kitaro's control—a creature that Kitaro could obliterate with a mere thought.
The extent of the Celestial Dragons' power remained unclear to Kitaro, but he knew it was formidable. The strength of the Uchiha Clan alone wasn't enough to oppose them; he needed additional power.
This world was home to countless unique races. Surely, creating a new "Demon Clan" wasn't too much to ask.
To that end, Kitaro ensured these demons retained their predatory nature. To him, Shiki and Crocodile were like Hancock's man-eating panther—a means to an end.
After all, this world was filled with scum that could serve as sustenance for these demons.
However, Kitaro had no intention of creating demons as indiscriminately as Muzan. He sought only elites like Shiki.
Truth be told, he had considered taking Shiki's Devil Fruit powers for himself but ultimately decided against it. Training another awakened Devil Fruit user would be too time-consuming.
Instead, he opted to use his own blood to enhance Shiki. Despite his age, Shiki's enhanced physique could surpass that of younger individuals.
"You are to gather uninhabited islands from around the world and relocate them to the New World," Kitaro ordered. "Position them above the former Whitebeard Pirates' territory, now under Uchiha Security Company."
"Place the largest island in the center, elevated above the rest. It should be ten times larger than your floating islands. Surround it with ten major satellite islands, thirty-six medium-sized ones, and 108 smaller islands."
"All the islands should be connected by flowing waterways, allowing ships to navigate between them."
Hearing this, Shiki's eyes lit up. "Master, what are you planning?"
"As the Heavenly Emperor, it's only fitting that I establish the Heavenly Court!"
Indeed, Kitaro had been captivated by Shiki's floating islands from the very beginning. They matched his vision of an ethereal and majestic aesthetic.
However, Shiki's haphazard placement didn't align with Kitaro's perfectionist tendencies. Kitaro demanded symmetry and order.
"Understood! I'll begin immediately!"
For a long time, Kitaro had dreamed of establishing a nation. Whitebeard's old territories didn't quite meet his standards—not because they were unsuitable, but because Kitaro disliked using second-hand resources.
He wanted something brand new, something exclusively his.
[Ding! Main Quest Triggered: The Foundation of a Nation]
[Quest Objective: Prepare islands for the establishment of the Uchiha multiverse empire.]
[Requirements: 100,000 square kilometers for the Main island, 30,000 square kilometers for 10 Side islands each,10,000 square kilometers for 36 auxiliary islands each, and 3,000 square kilometers for 108 sub-auxiliary islands each.]
[Quest Reward: The Rinnegan]
Seeing the quest details, Kitaro thought the system had gone mad. A 100,000 square kilometer main island, plus 10 another islands of 30,000 square kilometers each—that alone totaled 400,000 square kilometers.
Adding 36 islands of 10,000 square kilometers brought it up to 760,000 square kilometers.
And finally, 108 islands of 3,000 square kilometers each made the grand total 1,084,000 square kilometers.
This was no island chain—it was an entire continent!
But when Kitaro saw the reward, even someone as composed and stoic as him couldn't keep his heart from racing.
Inside, he screamed in disbelief.
WTF!
The system finally decided to do something useful!
He had waited half a year without any updates, almost forgetting the system existed. It seemed practically useless up until now.
But now, it was clear—there was a reason the system was hailed as the ultimate cheat for transmigrators.
Being a transmigrator, one could survive without a system, but having one was an absolute game-changer.
System, I love you!
"Wait a moment!"
Kitaro hurriedly called out to Shiki.
"Master! Do you have additional instructions?"
Feeling a bit embarrassed, Kitaro explained the size requirements to Shiki. Even he thought they were excessive.
To his surprise, Shiki's eyes sparkled. "As expected of my master! Such ambition and vision! Please leave it to me. I will ensure everything is done perfectly!"
"Are islands that large even possible?"
"Rest assured, Master. The islands can be combined and expanded. It is entirely feasible."
"Well… if you say so. You're the expert. If you succeed, I'll grant you even greater rewards."
Hearing this, Shiki's eyes glimmered with excitement. He instinctively licked his lips, eager to obtain more of Kitaro's blood and its extraordinary power.
"I will not disappoint you, Master! Everything will be handled flawlessly!"
