One Piece: The Deadly

Chapter 70: Merry Strawmas!!

The Thousand Sunny sailed across the calm, winter sea, a light blanket of snow falling from the sky. It was a rare sight—snow on the ocean, and even rarer for the Straw Hat Pirates to get a break from their chaotic adventures. Today wasn't just any ordinary day. No, today was a special day, one that wasn't often seen in the world of pirates: Christmas.

The Straw Hats, for once, had no urgent mission or world-changing battle on the horizon. It was just a time for celebration, for decorating, and for a little bit of holiday cheer. The entire crew was in festive spirits, eager to enjoy the magic of the season, even if they didn't fully understand the concept of Christmas.

Luffy was the first to jump in, of course. He had a red outfit, mostly because it was the only color that screamed "festive" to him. His bright smile was infectious, and he didn't hesitate to try to string up some tinsel around the mast, though it was clear that it was mostly just him trying to eat some of it in between decorations. "Is this how you celebrate Christmas? It's great! I love it!" he exclaimed, wrapping himself in what seemed to be a string of lights.

Nami, ever the stickler for keeping things looking nice, wore a Santa hat, her festive attire completed by a stylish red dress. She was busy decorating the ship with a sense of pride and a touch of elegance, making sure the Snowy Island theme of the day was everywhere, down to the smallest detail. "We need everything to look just right!" she said, her brow furrowed as she placed a few more ornaments.

Sanji was wearing a Christmas sweater—green with white reindeer patterns—and was happily baking cookies in the kitchen. "Ho, ho, ho! Nothing says Christmas like cookies," he said, a proud grin on his face as he put a tray in the oven. The warm, sweet scent filled the air.

Usopp was the next to get into the spirit, decorating his trusty slingshot with little red ribbons, even attaching small jingle bells to it for added effect. "Now, this is a Christmas slingshot!" he said with a laugh, beaming at his handiwork. "I can't wait to fire some snowballs with it!"

Meanwhile, Kikidori and Chopper were outside, bundled up and ready for their snowball fight. Kikidori, dressed in a red outfit similar to Luffy's, had his usual grin plastered on his face. "Chopper, you're going down! I'll beat you with my *snowball skills*!" he said, readying a snowball. Chopper, wearing a fluffy hat and scarf, looked adorably serious as he packed his own snowball. "Not if I beat you to it, Kikidori!" he shouted, and the two went flying around the deck in a flurry of snowballs.

Robin was looking particularly lovely in a festive outfit, a soft red dress with gold accents. She stood by the railing of the ship, her eyes closed as she enjoyed the rare snow and the beautiful view of the sea. Her usual calm demeanor was relaxed as she admired the decorations that adorned the Sunny.

Franky, always a bit over the top, had a Christmas-themed upgrade to his look. His hair was styled in a way that resembled a Christmas tree, with glowing lights and stars sticking out of it. Of course, he could press a button on his chest to switch it up, and he did, making his hair grow even taller, like a Christmas tree in full glory. "Merry Christmas, everybody!" he shouted, proudly displaying his festive hairstyle.

Brook, ever the entertainer, had a few ornaments hanging from his eye sockets and bones. He was playing a melody on his violin, humming a Christmas tune. His skeletal form made it slightly eerie, but it was undeniably festive. "Yohoho! Christmas is a time for music, after all!" he declared, strumming a jolly tune.

Raiko, as much of a troublemaker as he was, had joined in the spirit, wearing a red scarf and jacket. He had even reluctantly placed a few ornaments on the railings, though it was clear he wasn't *as* excited as the others. "I still don't get why we're celebrating, but it's a nice change of pace," he said gruffly, avoiding eye contact with Kikidori, who had just finished putting an ornament on Usopp's long nose. It stayed there, much to Usopp's discomfort. "It's a *perfect* fit!" Kikidori laughed.

Zoro, of course, had a Christmas hat on his head, though it was mostly to keep his hair out of his face. He was still half-asleep, his usual scowl on his face as he leaned against a barrel, holding a bottle of sake. "I don't know why I'm here for all this Christmas nonsense," he grumbled, but deep down, he was content to let everyone else do the work while he relaxed.

And then, just as everyone was getting into the spirit, something unexpected happened. Snow began to fall—not just lightly, but heavily, as if the weather itself had joined in the festivities. The crew stared, mouths agape, as snowflakes gently floated down from the sky. It was surreal, and for a moment, it felt as though the entire world had paused to let them enjoy the magic of the season.

Kikidori and Chopper immediately launched into their snowball fight. "You're going down, Chopper!" Kikidori yelled, pelting the little reindeer with snow. Chopper grinned, dodging and throwing a snowball right back at Kikidori's face. "Not if I can help it!"

Meanwhile, Usopp and Luffy, feeling mischievous, hung mistletoe above a bench on the deck, giggling like schoolboys. "We gotta make this Christmas special!" Luffy exclaimed, bouncing on his heels.

Unbeknownst to anyone, Kikidori and Ere'ana had been talking near that bench, and it seemed like the two were about to sit down. But at the last moment, they both decided to build a snowman instead, happily laughing as they rolled giant snowballs across the deck.

However, two people did sit down under the mistletoe, completely unaware. Zoro and Robin, who had been standing next to the bench, looked at each other and then sat down, both too tired to care about the mistletoe.

"Wait, wait, WAIT!" Kikidori yelled from across the deck, pointing wildly at Zoro and Robin. "They're under the mistletoe! *Kiss, kiss, kiss!*"

Everyone stopped what they were doing, suddenly becoming aware of the situation. Usopp, looking far too eager, jumped up. "DO IT, DO IT!" he chanted.

"Come on, Zoro! Kiss her!" Luffy joined in, clearly excited at the chaos he was about to witness.

"DO IT! DO IT!" the rest of the crew cheered, all while Kikidori, standing with a big grin on his face, was practically shaking in excitement. Even Chopper and Raiko were staring eagerly, waiting for the kiss to happen.

Robin, normally so composed, looked at Zoro for a moment, her usual calm smile gracing her lips. Zoro, meanwhile, just stared at her, clearly unsure how to handle the situation. But eventually, Robin leaned in, and after a brief, almost hesitant moment, the two shared a soft, sweet kiss under the mistletoe. The crew went wild with cheers and laughter, and Kikidori collapsed into the snow in disbelief.

"Oh my god, they actually did it!" he exclaimed, as Ere'ana jumped into the snow next to him, followed by Chopper.

"That was amazing," Ere'ana whispered, laughing.

And so, Christmas on the Thousand Sunny went from a simple, silly celebration to one of the most memorable moments the crew would ever share.

The End of Chapter 71.
