Otherworldly Commentator: All I Wanted Was to Watch Commentary Videos in Another World, But I Ended Up With Broadcasting Gear!

Chapter 4: Description

When I regained consciousness, the light had subsided, and I felt a gentle breeze skimming over my skin.

The fresh, green scent, the rustling of grass, the chirping of little birds.

Gradually, I felt accepted by this world, and timidly, I opened my eyes…

Several hours had passed since then.

To put it simply, this is a different world.

I hadn’t seen the elves or dragons that were mentioned beforehand, but I did spot, in the distance, a creature resembling a large hamster with sharp horns.

Such a creature probably didn’t exist in my original world.

There might be large hamsters, but none with horns like a unicorn.

Why does it have horns?

Such inexplicable evolution is the true charm of a different world.

Surely, there must be beasts that boldly attack head-on.

Anyway, I was so thrilled to discover a creature with such an unusual appearance that I almost shouted out loud, but I had to restrain myself, thinking that if there were bears nearby, I might meet God again.

Well, leaving aside the observation of fascinating creatures, let me summarize the experiences I’ve had in these past few hours.

When I came, I found myself awake in a forest and looked around.

The forest wasn’t very deep, and a small mountain was nearby.

I saw no signs of human interference in the forest, but it didn’t seem too far away.

With these rough guesses, I started walking in search of civilization.

If I could meet the locals, I could learn about this world and increase my chances of survival.

However, after walking for about two hours, I couldn’t find any trace of humans.

The forest was much more vast than I had imagined.

Not wanting to get lost, I gave up on further exploration and started looking for a cave for the night.

Building a house would be easy in a game, but in reality, even in a world of swords and magic, it’s not so simple.

And wandering in the forest without shelter, I could end up as dinner for a predatory animal.

I hope to find a suitable place to stay.

Present time.

Fortunately, about an hour into my cave search, I found a shallow cave with no signs of life inside.

I remember reading in a survival book that I could make a simple bed using natural materials like wood, leaves, and mud, but something made of stone would be safest.

I made this my temporary base and sat on the hard ground.

The book said that caves are cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

If I make this my base, I can survive through the seasons.

It’s unclear if this world has four seasons, but it’s better to be prepared.

Ah, about the survival book, I read it in my second year of middle school. That’s all for the explanation.

“Well then…”

I checked the backpack contents I had been carrying since my reincarnation.

At first, I was too excited to notice, but this blue backpack seemed to be a gift from God.

It is rectangular, with the largest capacity in the middle zipper and a smaller one on the surface for small items.

“This backpack I used in middle school, isn’t it?”

It must be his way of ensuring I don’t forget my original world.

Or he just made it from my memory without much thought.

I feel like I’m already getting a clearer picture of God.

When I opened the backpack, I found a thin A4-sized tablet, a bottle of water, a knife in a leather sheath, and a piece of paper.

I looked at the paper first…

“Hey, congratulations on your reincarnation! Suddenly, but I’ll explain about the tablet in your backpack!”

He sounds excited.

Of course, it’s a letter from God to me.

“This tablet is related to your favorite live-streaming stuff. You probably understand without a detailed explanation.”

…Didn’t he say he would explain the tablet two lines ago?

And then he says, “You probably understand without a detailed explanation,” which seems a bit lazy.

“No, I was going to write it like a manual, but it got too bothersome.”

Don’t read my thoughts in a letter.

“Oh, and by the way, it doesn’t need charging.”

The fact that it doesn’t need charging makes me feel the unnecessary power of God.

It’s beyond modern science.

More importantly, I can watch videos on this tablet since he mentioned live-streaming.

This thin machine might be the most precious thing in this world.

I want to start watching immediately, but monsters could attack me while absorbed in it.

I’ll watch it after ensuring safety around me.

I have to wait, but I love the excitement of opening a video site after 2 or 3 days and seeing all the unwatched videos lined up.

Now, what else does the letter say?

“There are various functions, so take your time to try them out. I’ll also watch the live streams, so I’ll share my thoughts sometime.

Huh, God watches live streams, too? I’m curious about what genre he likes.

I can’t imagine there are games other than Othello and Chess in God’s world, so he’s probably interested in live video game streams.

A bit different, but fishing is also fun.

The leisurely passing of time is perfect for when you’re working.

But still, “I’ll watch” and “I’ll share my thoughts” – it’s not my video, so there’s no need to report.

Maybe he’s trying to relate to me.

Like a father watching an anime he’s not interested in, just talking to his child.

“Ah, also. I haven’t provided essentials like fire or swords, but I’ve made it easier for you. So, just do your best! Bye!”

Even though the end is vague, I feel quite privileged.

I don’t know how much ‘a bit’ is, but it should be enough to stabilize life.

Fire and weapons are essential for survival in a forest start.

Honestly, I’m happier about this than being able to use weak magic.

Making fire increases the safety of eating food; with a sword, I can explore and craft recklessly.

I could even fight small creatures.

Thinking about this, I looked up at the sky from the cave, and the sun was setting, with darkness slowly spreading.

All that was left was to sleep in the cave, but I wanted a bonfire to deter animals, so I started gathering fallen branches nearby.

If I don’t go too far, I shouldn’t get lost without a sense of the area.
