Overlord: The Last Player

Chapter 10: Priestess? Planning a Unique Profession

At that moment—

"Kaia!" A woman's panicked voice echoed through the crowd.

Due to the commotion caused by the arrival of an adventurer's team, the gathered crowd became restless. In the resulting jostling, a small boy, appearing no older than five or six, was shoved out of the throng and tumbled forward.

He landed directly in the path of the "Four Armaments" adventurer team.

Unable to steady himself, the boy fell to the ground, his arm scraping against the rough pavement. The skin was broken, and blood began to seep from the wound.

"Ah… Waaaah!!"

The pain from the scrape, combined with the shock of being pushed away from the crowd and the absence of his mother, made the boy cry out loudly.

This sudden development caused a stir.

At the forefront of the team, the leader Scama, with her black-dyed hair and cool expression, suddenly lit up with interest.

This was an excellent opportunity!

For most adventurer teams, improving their reputation was an essential goal.

"Lilynette..." Scama turned her head, her calm expression unchanged, intending to instruct the pink-haired Lilinet to help.

But before she could even speak—

Lilynette had already stepped forward quickly, the long slits in her white priestess robes swaying with each stride.

Her pale, slender thighs, tightly wrapped in patterned fishnet stockings, were on full display for the crowd.

A collective sound of gulping arose from the onlookers.

"Little one, don't worry. Big sister will take care of it for you," Lilynette said with a warm smile, crouching down. She extended her hand toward the boy's injured arm.

"Minor Healing!"

A gentle white light emanated from Lilynette's palm. Bathed in its glow, the boy's wound healed entirely within moments.

Feeling the pain vanish, the boy stopped crying. His tear-streaked face lifted, looking at Lilynette with gratitude.

"Thank you, sister…"

His voice was soft, but midway through his words, he flinched, shrinking his neck. A trace of fear flashed across his face.

For some reason—

Although the sister before him was smiling kindly, the boy found her smile a little unsettling.

*Clink. Clank!*

The faint sound of armor plates shifting echoed as Scama, clad in full armor, approached.

She bent down, seemingly inspecting the boy's injury in the eyes of the crowd.

However, in reality—

Scama lowered her voice and hissed at Lilynette, "You twisted pervert, stop looking at him like you're about to devour him! I don't want our team's newly earned reputation to turn into a scandal about a *shota-con* predator!"

Hearing her captain's warning, Lilynette stuck out her pink tongue, licking the corner of her lips where a trace of drool had appeared. Then, with a hint of disappointment, she whispered, "Ah, but such tender fruit is the most tempting of all…"

The boy shrank back again, not understanding the exchange between the two women but growing increasingly uneasy.

At the rear of the team, the other two male members of "Four Armaments" exchanged glances before sighing in unison.

From the crowd, a middle-aged woman finally squeezed her way through, her face a mask of anxiety. She rushed to the boy, visibly relieved upon seeing that he was unharmed.

"Thank you! Thank you so much!"

The woman bowed repeatedly, her gratitude evident in her voice.

While adventurers weren't always warmly received by the nobility, they held a certain level of prestige and respect among the common folk.

Scama and Lilynette straightened up, their expressions once again righteous and dignified. They waved off the thanks as though it was all part of their duty.

At that moment, Aron's attention was no longer on this small drama. The moment Lilynette had cast her healing spell, his attribute interface had reacted.

[Skill Detected: "Minor Healing (Tier 1)]

[Requirements: Basic Priestess, Priest Profession, Level 1–7. Current conditions unmet…]

["Genius" class activated. Condition conversion successful. Requirements met. Consume 1 skill point to learn?]

'Priestess?'

Aron glanced at the prompt on his interface, his eyes lighting up with curiosity.

Without any intention of watching further, he turned and quickly left the scene. He needed to find a quiet place to process this development.

It was midday, and the sunlight was scorching. Based on earlier inquiries, Aron estimated it to be around May, yet the heat was akin to June or July back in his previous world.

The "Great Tomb of Nazarick" would descend in about four years, sometime in mid-July. That left Aron just over four years to prepare.

Time was short, but Aron knew that choosing the right professions required careful planning.

The arena area was near the royal capital, situated on a slope surrounded by abundant vegetation. This separated it from the densely packed residential areas of the commoners, forming a green belt visible from above.

Finding a shaded spot beneath a tree, Aron sat down and pulled up his attribute panel.

Having mastered the "Minor Healing" spell, Aron's [Genius] Class now included "Priestess/Priest" as potential basic class options.

What intrigued Aron the most, however, was the "Priestess" class.

Judging by its name, it was likely exclusive to female characters. In the world of Overlord, the Priestess and Priest Class had subtle differences.

Simply put, the Priestess leaned more toward magic specialization, and its advanced class, High Priestess, offered certain healing bonuses.

This wasn't what captivated Aron, though. What truly piqued his interest was that the [Genius] Class allowed him to access this female-exclusive class.

Could this mean he had a sort of "female character buff," enabling him to unlock classes limited to women?

This had far-reaching implications for gaining a "special class."

From the anime and light novels, Aron knew of only a handful of special classes:

- Ainz's [Eclipse]

- Cocytus's [Asura]

- Shalltear's [Valkyrie]

- Mare's [Catastrophe Apostle]

- Demiurge's [Evil Essence]

Albedo also possessed a special class, though its name was never explicitly revealed in either the anime or novels.

Aron only knew it granted her the ability to transfer death to her armor three times—a skill that made her nearly impossible to kill, especially when combined with resurrection items.

Beyond these, there were classes like [World Champion] and [World Calamity], but those were entirely outside Aron's current scope.

In the Overlord game, there were undoubtedly more special professions, though Aron lacked any means of discovering them in this new world.

Among the known options, he immediately ruled out [Eclipse], [Evil Essence], and [Martyr].

[Eclipse], Ainz's profession, required mastering all undead-related professions and reaching level 95—a build that was far too extreme and easily countered.

[Evil Essence] and [Martyr] were restricted to demon and angel races, respectively, making them unattainable.

This left [Asura], [Valkyrie], and [Catastrophe Apostle], which had relatively lenient requirements.

Aron's eyes gleamed. He had found his direction.
