Overlord: The Last Player

Chapter 11: Analysis of the Special Class [Valkyrie]!

[Asura], [Valkyrie], and [Catastrophic Apostle].

Among these three special classes, Aron initially set his sights on the [Catastrophic Apostle].

Mare, being a Dark Elf and a humanoid subrace, lacked racial classes and was fully constructed with level 100 job classes. This meant that the [Catastrophic Apostle] class did not have racial prerequisites.

Aron had gathered a considerable amount of information about Mare's job classes.

With the assistance of the [Genius] class, which provided a margin for error, he figured that even if he wasted a couple of mid-tier classes, he could reverse-engineer the [Catastrophic Apostle] class.

As for the other two special classes, [Asura] was a class mastered by Cocytus.

Aron had thoroughly studied these special classes. Based on the limited information from Cocytus's attribute table, it seemed [Asura] had no direct correlation with Cocytus's job composition.

Aron suspected that this special class might have been obtained through some unique item or artifact.

And then there was the [Valkyrie] class.

In both the anime and the light novel, only two individuals possessed this class: Shalltear and CZ2128 Delta.

Both were female.

Aron couldn't help but speculate that this was a gender-locked special class, available exclusively to women.

With these insights in mind, Aron temporarily decided to focus on the [Catastrophic Apostle] class. However, the sudden appearance of the [Priestess] class now presented him with the possibility of gaining a "female character buff."

This opened the door for him to potentially acquire the [Valkyrie] class.

"Shalltear's [Valkyrie] is far more comprehensible than Mare's [Catastrophic Apostle of Calamity]," Aron murmured, inhaling deeply.

He began recalling every bit of information he knew about Shalltear while sketching rough diagrams on the ground with his finger.

As one of the most prominently featured characters in both the anime and the light novels besides the Overlord himself, Shalltear's revealed information was naturally abundant.

Her level structure was:

[Racial Levels 20Lv + Job Levels 80Lv = Total Level 100Lv]

Her known job classes included :-

- Valkyrie/Lancer (5Lv)

- Cursed Knight (5Lv)

- Priest (10Lv)

Additionally, the light novels mentioned two more classes :-

- Blood Frenzy

- Cursed Mage

Aron was confident these were high-tier classes.

His certainty stemmed from the fact that [Blood Frenzy] granted the unique skill "Blood Pool," which had been showcased during Shalltear's fight against the Overlord.

Similarly, [Cursed Mage] had been mentioned in the novels to inflict a negative effect that caused Shalltear to go berserk upon contact with blood. This had been depicted in the anime during Shalltear's first encounter with Sebas when she attacked humans and suddenly went mad.

In "YGGDRASIL", classes with negative effects were typically powerful high-tier classes, balanced by these drawbacks.

Thus, Shalltear's known job classes included:

- Valkyrie/Lancer (5Lv)

- Cursed Knight (5Lv)

- Priest (10Lv)

- Blood Frenzy (5Lv)

- Cursed Mage (5Lv)

These totaled 25 levels, leaving 55 unaccounted for.

At first glance, the information seemed insufficient for a clear deduction.

But Aron grinned and leaned closer to his scribbles. "Good thing I'm a science student," he chuckled, entering a state of excitement akin to solving a complex puzzle game.

He circled two key jobs on the ground.

The [Valkyrie] class could be set aside for now. [Priest] was a basic job and didn't warrant much attention either.

He then excluded [Blood Frenzy], as his understanding of it was limited.

This left two high-tier jobs: [Cursed Knight] and [Cursed Mage]. Both likely required specific prerequisites to unlock.

Using logical deduction, Aron hypothesized :-

- Basic Warrior Job (15Lv) → Intermediate Warrior Job (10Lv) → Cursed Knight (5Lv) = 30Lv

- Basic Spellcaster Job (15Lv) → Intermediate Spellcaster Job (10Lv) → Cursed Mage (5Lv) = 30Lv

Adding these to the known classes:

60Lv + Valkyrie/Lancer (5Lv) + Blood Frenzy (5Lv) + Priest (10Lv) = 80Lv.

The math checked out. Shalltear's job composition suddenly became clear!

The [Blood Frenzy] class, Aron deduced, was a high-tier racial class unique to vampires. The outlier in Shalltear's composition was the basic job [Priest].

As for the other [Valkyrie] class user, CZ2128 Delta, her class structure was completely revealed in the novels:

- Warrior (10Lv)

- Berserker (10Lv)

- Elite Warrior (10Lv)

- Low-Tier Valkyrie/Universal (5Lv)

- Weapon Specialist (7Lv)

- Rogue (1Lv)

- Assassin (5Lv)

- Executioner (10Lv)

- Priest (10Lv)

- Advanced Priest (10Lv)

- Heretic Judge (10Lv)

A total of 88 levels.

While her level placed her in the top echelon of the New World, her job composition was chaotic, combining warrior, rogue, and faith-based spellcaster classes. This scattered build meant her combat effectiveness was far below other players of her level.

The [Low-Tier Valkyrie] class could be considered a degraded version of the true [Valkyrie] class.

Aron speculated that CZ2128 Delta likely used her innate ability to indirectly acquire the class. However, due to its strict prerequisites, she could only obtain a weaker variant.

The shared job between Shalltear and CZ2128 Delta was [Priest].

For Shalltear, an undead vampire, possessing a holy job like [Priest] was bizarre and contradictory.

The only logical explanation was that this was necessary to meet the prerequisites for another job!

Aron's eyes glimmered with excitement as a confident grin spread across his face.

"Got you, [Valkyrie]!"

*L"YGGDRASIL" was built around Norse mythology. The [Valkyrie] concept originally referred to "choosers of the slain" and had ties to both death and the sacred.

The prerequisites for the [Valkyrie] class likely included: Femal, Basic Job [Priest], and High-Tier Job [Cursed Knight].

"Phew..."

Aron dusted off his hands and carefully erased his ground notes. While no one in this world could read Chinese, it was better to be cautious.

"To unlock [Cursed Knight], one must exceed level 60 and meet specific prerequisites in 'YGGDRASIL'. However, in this world, acquiring the job might be possible by mastering the skills first."

He stood, brushing off the dirt from his clothes, a smile forming on his lips. "If memory serves, there's someone in the Baharuth Empire who possesses the [Cursed Knight] class."

Discovering the prerequisites for a special class was rare, and while he couldn't be entirely certain, it was worth trying.

"The Baharuth Empire's lead won't vanish."

"For now, the priority is leveling up. After that, I'll head to the Empire to secure the [Cursed Knight] class."

With a clear goal in mind, Aron turned and strode confidently toward the Adventurer's Guild.
