Chapter 7: The Reverse Way to Acquire Classes
The arena roared with excitement.
The battle between Gazef and Brain grew increasingly intense, with flashes of light accompanying the activation of their martial techniques.
Meanwhile...
Information continuously appeared on Aron's status panel.
[Skill "Weak Point Perception" detected. Requires basic warrior class. Current conditions not met.]
["Genius" class activated. Conditions converted. Would you like to spend 1 skill point to learn this skill?]

*Clang! Clang!*
The sound of weapons colliding reverberated throughout the venue.
"Amazing!"
"So strong! No wonder he defeated all those opponents so easily."
"To be able to fight on par with Brain, the genius swordsman, this Gazef guy is incredible!"
"Hey, I can't even see their moves anymore!"
The audience, previously quiet, had now erupted into fervent cheers, captivated by the brilliant exchange of offense and defense between Gazef and Brain.
Aron, too, felt a surge of excitement, but his gaze wasn't fixed on the arena. Instead, it was locked onto the information displayed on his status panel.
"So I can learn skills by observing others use them, spending skill points to acquire them… This way of gaining skills is beyond my expectations," Aron muttered, his eyes glinting with interest.
Initially, Aron had assumed that, like the people of this world, he would need to learn skills through practice and effort.
Now, however, what truly thrilled him was how the unique class "Genius" worked. It was even more exceptional than he had anticipated.
He glanced at the panel's prompts, contemplating which skills to acquire, as he currently had only three skill points.
Suddenly, a notification caught his attention.
[Skill "Rapid Slash" detected. Requires intermediate class "Sword Saint." Current conditions not met]
[Prerequisite class "Genius (Warrior)" acquired. Would you like to spend 3 skill points to learn this skill?]
Aron narrowed his eyes slightly as he read the prompt.
"Intermediate class [Sword Saint]?"
His gaze shifted to the arena. It seemed this skill originated from the dominant Brain.
If his memory served him correctly, Brain possessed three classes: Warrior (Basic), Sword Expert (Intermediate), and Sword Saint (Intermediate).
The notification on his status panel was clearly referencing Brain.
What Aron was pondering now wasn't the intermediate class "Sword Saint" itself but something else he had overlooked until now.
In the game YGGDRASIL, players had to unlock a class before they could learn its associated skills. However, the situation in this world appeared to be the exact opposite.
Here, people needed to first master the skills of a class before they could unlock that class—no prerequisites required.
For example, in the game, acquiring the high-level class "Ninja" required reaching level 60 or higher. Yet in this world, there were no such level requirements.
As long as one learned the skills of the "Ninja" class, they could unlock it. The ninja sisters of the Mithril-ranked adventurer group Blue Rose were a testament to this.
If Aron were to learn "Rapid Slash," could it serve as a means to indirectly unlock the intermediate class "Sword Saint"?
If successful...
Aron would have uncovered yet another way to acquire classes.
Moreover, compared to the method of equipping weapons and items tied to specific classes, gaining classes through skill acquisition was far more advantageous and precise.
Especially when building complex class combinations.
Intermediate classes aside, this approach could significantly simplify the process of acquiring high-level classes.
As for special classes...
The thought flashed through Aron's mind, and he shook his head slightly.
Special classes were an entirely different matter. Even in this world, those capable of mastering high-level classes were few and far between.
Special classes, while technically high-level, operated on a completely distinct system. In *YGGDRASIL*, they required fulfilling specific prerequisites and could not be bypassed.
There was virtually no shortcut to acquiring them!
In the game, even max-level players typically only had one special class, despite possessing multiple high-level classes. This was a testament to how demanding the conditions were.
"Ahhh!" "Go, Brain!"
The thunderous cheers pulled Aron back to the present as he focused on the arena below.
Unbeknownst to him, Brain's relentless flurry of attacks had gradually forced Gazef into retreat. It seemed Brain was on the verge of victory.
Aron held his breath, watching intently, curious to see if the match would unfold as he remembered.
In the heat of the exchange, Gazef stumbled back, seemingly losing his footing.
Seizing the opportunity, Brain lunged forward, intending to end the match in an instant.
However...
In the next moment, Brain's body froze mid-move, as if struck by an invisible force, before being sent flying backward. He crashed onto the arena floor, motionless.
The crowd's raucous cheers abruptly fell silent.
What had just happened in that fleeting moment?
With Aron's current abilities, he couldn't discern the details. Most of the spectators likely couldn't either.
But...
Aron glanced at his status panel.
[Skill "Fourfold Slash of Light" detected. Requires basic warrior class. Current conditions not met.]
["Genius" class activated. Conditions converted. Would you like to spend 1 skill point to learn this skill?]
Aron's expression softened. As he had expected, history had repeated itself.
In this "Great Martial Tournament," Gazef had once again emerged victorious with his self-developed skill, "Fourfold Slash of Light."
*Whoosh—*
*Clap! Clap! Clap!*
After a brief pause, the venue erupted into wild applause and cheers.
"Gazef!" "Gazef!" "Gazef!"
The chant resounded like thunder.
Aron scanned the crowd, observing the flushed faces and fervent cheers around him. He exhaled lightly and turned back to his status panel.
"Learn skill [Rapid Slash]."
He wanted to test if it was possible to unlock a class by learning its skill.
Additionally, because the "Genius" class provided no stat bonuses, Aron urgently needed to acquire a combat-oriented class.
With the ability to convert basic classes through "Genius," the risk of spending skill points on an intermediate class was one he was willing to take.
