Chapter 8: Comprehensive Level 2Lv – Passive Slash Damage
[Skill unlocked: 'Rapid Slash', 3 skill points consumed.]
[Buzz—]
[Mid-Tier Class 'Sword Saint' successfully acquired!]
Aron gazed at the updated attribute panel, a hint of surprise and realization crossing his face.
"So, it seems this alternate world has a different job system compared to the game. I can directly acquire classes myself."
However—
Aron glanced down, his expression shifting thoughtfully, "So the class is automatically obtained without a confirmation option?"
Based on what he had gathered so far, there seemed to be two methods to acquire combat-related classes:
[1] Touch relevant weapons or equipment to unlock the class.
- Pros: Basic classes are relatively easy to acquire.
- Cons: Advanced and higher-tier classes are much harder to obtain.
[2] Learn specific skills by consuming skill points to indirectly unlock the class.
- Pros: Greater flexibility. With enough skill points, one could mimic observed abilities and unlock the corresponding class.
- Cons: Skills automatically bind the related class upon acquisition, leaving no option to refuse.
Aron weighed the pros and cons of both methods. Compared to the first approach, his [Genius] basic class rendered the starting tier relatively unimportant.
Turning his attention back to the panel, he noted that acquiring [Sword Saint] had increased his comprehensive level to 2Lv, granting him an additional 3 skill points.
"At this rate, it's no wonder players in the game could unlock 100 classes just by leveling up."
Aron couldn't help but let out a small sigh of admiration.
Since gaining levels through class acquisition was so efficient, even his usually cautious nature briefly entertained the idea of testing the limits.
"Gaining 3 skill points per level hasn't changed."
"If dying and losing levels in this world works the same as in the game, could I exploit this to farm skill points?"
The idea flickered through Aron's mind.
While such an exploit would've been impossible in YGGDRASIL, the mechanics of this world were still uncertain.
Shaking his head, he shelved the thought for now. That wasn't something to experiment with just yet.
Instead, Aron allocated 2 of his newly acquired skill points, unlocking [Instant Reflection] and [Fourfold Slash of Light]. The remaining 1 point, he decided to keep as a contingency for emergencies.
Now, his updated attribute panel reflected the changes:

"Only HP, Physical Attack, and Agility stats increase. As expected, different classes boost distinct attributes. For mid-tier classes to grant 10-point increments, basic classes must provide even less."
"Fortunately, [Genius] spares me the hassle of climbing the basic class ladder."
Aron paused, his gaze lingering on the "Passive Slash Damage" effect.
"1%? Not bad, though not extraordinary either. Still, the Sword Saint's active skills are interesting."
He compared the newly acquired [Rapid Slash] to the techniques he'd learned from observing other warriors in this world. The contrast was striking.
"Game-like skills come with defined damage ratios and cooldowns, while the world's native techniques operate on completely different mechanics."
"No wonder Ainz was so fascinated by martial arts—it's an entirely separate system."
As Aron mused, the crowd around him stirred.
*Rustle! Rustle!*
The audience in the coliseum abruptly stood from their seats, the sudden movement catching Aron off guard.
A few glances from nearby spectators fell on him as he remained seated.
"Ahem." Clearing his throat, Aron rose to his feet, mimicking the others. While unsure of the reason, blending in was the safest bet.
As he stood, the motion made him lurch forward unexpectedly. Aron reflexively braced himself by placing a hand on the shoulder of the man in front of him.
The man—a burly, rough-looking fellow with brown hair and a thick beard—turned, visibly annoyed.
"What's the matter, kid?" he growled, clenching his fists.
"Apologies, just lost my balance."
Aron quickly retracted his hand, his expression calm yet apologetic.
"Hmph!"
The man glared at him but seemed content with a warning look before turning away.
Aron exhaled silently, relieved. His newfound strength had thrown him off balance, but it was clear that his enhanced stats seamlessly integrated into his physique.
"The stat increases from leveling directly translate into physical prowess. It's as if I've undergone rigorous training overnight."
Shifting his gaze, Aron glanced toward the coliseum stage below.
The duel between Gazef Stronoff and Brain Unglaus had ended while he'd been engrossed in his attribute panel.
The crowd's sudden rise was in deference to the noble and royal spectators leaving their exclusive tower seats.
Understanding the situation, Aron maintained his position among the standing crowd, ensuring he didn't draw unnecessary attention.
Half an hour passed before the nobles finally departed. Aron sighed inwardly. "Privilege, as always, is a nuisance."
As the coliseum returned to its usual chatter, the bearded man from earlier turned, ready to confront Aron—only to find the seat behind him empty.
"Damn it! Ran off so quickly, huh? Just wait until I catch you!"
Grumbling, he stomped off.
Meanwhile, Aron had already left the coliseum, his thoughts returning to the mechanics of the world.
