Li Mengxue, the beautiful owner of Lover’s Bar, was a well-known and successful woman. A man like him naturally didn’t lack female attention, but as he got older, he knew it was time to settle down. He often went on blind dates but had high standards. While many women were interested in him, he rarely found someone who met his expectations.

He approached this blind date with the same casual attitude, but when he saw Li Mengxue, he was stunned by her beauty. Despite his many encounters with women, he had never seen anyone as breathtaking as her.

“Miss Li, you are truly radiant,” Li Zhigang said, his heart filled with joy. Though inwardly ecstatic, his face revealed only a polite smile as he invited Li Mengxue to sit.

Li Mengxue glanced briefly at Li Zhigang before sitting down gracefully. He had maintained a decent appearance and seemed polite, so she wasn’t too disappointed.

Of course, she wasn’t particularly moved by him. She only intended to finish the meal and leave. She was determined to start a new, real relationship and forget about Zhou Lang, but as a perfectionist, she wasn’t willing to settle for just anyone. She needed to find someone who truly made her heart flutter, though she wasn’t confident she ever would.

Li Zhigang, however, was smitten. Despite his outwardly polite demeanor, his mind was full of malicious intent. He hadn’t received much formal education and had spent his youth on the streets. By chance, he became acquainted with a city official, which led to his meteoric rise. Thanks to his quick thinking and connections, he founded a real estate company, secured several land deals, and made a fortune. Within a year, he had become a multimillionaire, and now his assets exceeded a billion.

Throughout the meal, Li Zhigang persistently urged Li Mengxue to drink.

Li Mengxue was cautious. No matter how much Li Zhigang encouraged her, she only sipped sparingly. She had let her guard down around Zhou Lang because she trusted him, but this was her first meeting with Li Zhigang, and she didn’t know much about him.

“Mr. Li, I’m not much of a drinker. I think I’ve had enough,” Li Mengxue said after sipping her wine.

“Excuse me, I’m going to the restroom.”

“Of course, Miss Li, please go ahead,” Li Zhigang replied, maintaining his gentlemanly facade.

As soon as Li Mengxue left for the restroom, a sinister smile appeared on Li Zhigang’s face. He muttered to himself, “Sister Yang told me she’d introduce me to a great beauty, and she wasn’t lying. This woman is a rare find — gentle, mature, and beautiful. I’ve hit the jackpot tonight.”

He then pulled a small packet of powder from his pocket and poured it into Li Mengxue’s wine glass. He gently swirled the glass, dissolving the white powder into the red wine.

Two or three minutes later, Li Mengxue returned from the restroom.

“Miss Li, it’s been a pleasure meeting you. Since you don’t handle alcohol well, how about we just take one last sip to wrap things up? Then we can finish our meal, and I’ll take you home.”

Li Zhigang smiled, pretending to be considerate.

“Alright,” Li Mengxue said, feeling relieved. She clinked glasses with Li Zhigang and took a sip of her wine, unaware that he had spiked her drink.

“Have some food too,” Li Zhigang suggested.

After eating a small bowl of rice, Li Mengxue prepared to leave. But as soon as she stood up, she felt dizzy.

“I didn’t drink much. Why do I feel so dizzy?”

Li Mengxue stumbled as she tried to walk.

“Miss Li, are you alright?”

Li Zhigang asked, feigning concern as he quickly reached out to support her.

The faint fragrance of Li Mengxue’s body made his mind race with desire.

“Take me back to Lover’s Bar to rest. I might have had a bit too much,” Li Mengxue said, rubbing her temples.

“Of course,” Li Zhigang replied, secretly elated. He supported her as they left the hotel.

According to his calculations, the drug he had given her would take full effect in just a few minutes. There was no way he was going to take her back to Lover’s Bar.

Meanwhile, Zhou Lang returned to Long City around 8 p.m.

His first thought was to see Ivannova, but he didn’t want to go into Lover’s Bar for fear of running into Li Mengxue. He planned to call Ivannova from outside the bar and ask her to come out.

As Zhou Lang approached Lover’s Bar, sitting in the front passenger seat of a Zhao family car, he suddenly noticed a familiar figure.

“It’s Li Mengxue!”

Zhou Lang recognized her instantly. He also saw a man helping her into a car, and it seemed like she was having trouble walking. After she got into the passenger seat, the man even gave her something to drink.

“Stop the car!”
