Chapter 35: The Last
After a while, they called Professor Elm, as they sent shows him Ash Typhlosion, as then they sent him some fo Typhlosion blood, as a few days passed, during that time Haru fought and won against chuck, he won by using his Scizor, he did a sword dance swipe to his whole team, as then Ash, Brock, Misty, Jessie and James were looking at the phone in the Pokémon center as they looked at Professors Elm
Elm looked at Ash. "Anyway Ash, I got your resource and I going to just say this, your Quilava didn't evolve into a Hisuian Typhlosion because of a dust stone you have on you, or a mystical enegry or he was raised by ghost types or some type of mega energy". He looked at Haru he just ripped half of his Theory and so did everyone else. "It is because, from what have gotten from the blood test, from the help of few other Professor, your Hisuian Typhlosion is probably the Last descendant of the Hisuian Typhlosion".
Everyone in the Pokémon Center stared at the screen in shock. Ash blinked, processing what Professor Elm had just said. "Wait... what? The last descendant? How is that even possible?"
Professor Elm adjusted his glasses and continued, his tone serious. "It seems that your Quilava—now Hisuian Typhlosion—is not just a rare evolutionary anomaly. It's more than that. Based on the blood analysis and the research from other professors I've consulted, your Typhlosion carries the genetic lineage of the last known Hisuian Typhlosion. It's an incredibly rare and ancient bloodline that had been thought extinct for centuries. This form of Typhlosion didn't just vanish because it wasn't strong enough; it was lost because of the passage of time, changing environments, and the disappearance of Hisui itself."
Ash's mind was racing, but Haru was the first to respond. "So... this is like a Pokémon that's been dormant for ages, waiting for a trigger. But why now? Why did it awaken in Ash's Quilava?"
Elm nodded, acknowledging the question. "That's what I don't fully understand yet, but it appears that something about your Quilava's environment, or even something in Ash's unique journey, may have triggered the awakening of this dormant ancient form. It could be a combination of his past experiences and the bond you share with him, Ash."
Brock raised an eyebrow, clearly fascinated. "So, you're saying that this Typhlosion isn't just any normal Pokémon? It's like it's carrying a piece of history with it?"
"Exactly," Elm replied. "What's even more interesting is the fact that Hisuian Typhlosion's abilities and behavior are strongly tied to the ancient energy of Hisui. Your Typhlosion, Ash, may have inherited these traits through an almost mystical bond. The fact that it evolved in such a way might have been triggered by the spiritual energy that still lingers in the world, unbeknownst to many."
Misty shook her head in disbelief. "So, Ash's Pokémon is an ancient species? That's incredible. But... how do we move forward with this? What should we do next?"
Elm's expression grew serious. "I suggest you keep a close eye on Typhlosion's growth. Since this is such an ancient and rare form, there could be unforeseen consequences to its powers, especially if it continues to tap into its ancestral energy. Ash, I would advise you to be cautious with Typhlosion's abilities—there's no telling what kind of powers may awaken in it as it continues to grow."
James leaned over to Jessie, whispering with a mix of awe and excitement. "This is gonna be a whole new adventure, isn't it?"
Jessie glared at him, unimpressed. "Focus, James. We've got a serious mystery on our hands."
Ash glanced at his Typhlosion, who was sitting by his side, the ghostly flames dancing around it as though it was a creature from another time. He placed a hand on its shoulder. "Don't worry, Typhlosion. We'll figure this out together."
Haru, still processing everything, turned to Ash. "It's not just about this ancient power, Ash. This could be bigger than any of us realize. You've got something special on your hands, and we need to stay ahead of it. Whatever's going on, it might not be just about Typhlosion's evolution—it could be the start of something much bigger."
Ash nodded, determination filling his eyes. "I won't let anything happen to Typhlosion. We'll learn everything we can about it and keep moving forward."
Elm's voice came through the phone again, soft but firm. "Keep me updated, Ash. And be careful. There's much more to this than meets the eye."
The call ended, leaving everyone with a lot to think about. Haru, still processing what had just been revealed, let out a long sigh. "This is just getting stranger by the day, isn't it?"
"Yeah, but we're in this together," Ash said, looking at his team. "Whatever comes next, we'll face it head-on."
The group stood in a moment of silence, each contemplating the new path ahead of them, knowing they were about to uncover secrets far beyond anything they'd ever imagined in their journey.
Later that night, Ash was in the beach, as he was thinking as he looked at Pikachu and then looked at new Typhlosion he was wondering when did his life become so complicated, as he almost wish Jessie and James still kept chasing him and trying to capture Pikachu but now they are retired.
"Need someone to talk to too".
Ash looked and saw Haru sat down, Haru was now wearing normal clothes, and not his usual outfit, Haru sat in the soft beach as he sent out Swampert so he can be next to him as the sea breeze hit both of them
Ash smiled softly when he saw Haru sitting down beside him, clearly sensing the same weight of the situation. His thoughts had been clouded for hours, and while he always pushed forward with optimism, tonight was different. His journey had taken a turn he hadn't expected, and now he was dealing with something bigger than just his dream of being a Pokémon Master. He looked down at Pikachu, who was resting at his feet, and then glanced at Typhlosion. His ancient Pokémon was still staring out over the ocean, its ghostly flames flickering in the night.
"You ever wonder when things just... got too complicated?" Ash asked, his voice quieter than usual. "I mean, one minute everything's normal, and now—"
Haru chuckled softly, gazing out at the horizon. "I get it. It's like the world's suddenly throwing a curveball at you, and you didn't even know you were playing baseball. But, hey, it's not always about having control over everything. Sometimes it's about adapting, learning to roll with the punches."
Ash glanced at Haru, who seemed oddly calm, almost like he had faced these types of challenges before. He saw Haru's Swampert sitting next to him, content to just be present, enjoying the moment without concern for what came next. For a brief moment, Ash envied the simplicity of it.
"I've always wanted to be the very best, you know? But now... I don't even know what that means anymore," Ash admitted, feeling the weight of his own words.
Haru turned to look at him, a calm but knowing expression on his face. "I get it. You've got a mission—to be a Pokémon Master. But sometimes, the real question isn't about the destination. It's about the journey, who you meet along the way, and how those encounters change you. You've already made an impact on so many people and Pokémon... including me." Haru's words were thoughtful, and his eyes drifted towards Typhlosion. "This Typhlosion, though? It's like a piece of history. A legacy. That's something you can't just overlook."
Ash shifted a little, unsure how to respond. "But why me, Haru? I'm just... me. I didn't do anything special to deserve this ancient Typhlosion. I don't even understand why it evolved the way it did. What if I mess it up? What if something happens to it?"
Haru shook his head and let out a small sigh, as if he'd been expecting this doubt. "Ash, you are special. It's not about deserving things; it's about how you handle them. And you've always handled things with heart. Typhlosion isn't just some random Pokémon. It's tied to you for a reason. Maybe you don't know why yet, but I think you'll figure it out. Just take things one step at a time."
Ash let those words sink in, his mind replaying the events of the past few days. The battle with Chuck, Typhlosion's evolution, everything that had led to this point. He wasn't sure where it would all take him, but for the first time in a while, he felt like he wasn't completely lost. He still had questions, sure. But maybe it was okay not to have all the answers just yet.
After a few moments of silence, Ash spoke again, his voice more resolute. "Thanks, Haru. I needed that."
Haru nodded, a faint smile on his face. "Anytime. Just remember—you're not alone in this. Whatever happens, you've got people by your side, and you've got your Pokémon. And that's a powerful thing."
The two sat in quiet companionship, the waves crashing softly against the shore, the sound blending with the rustling of the wind. For Ash, it was a moment of clarity amidst the chaos. He wasn't sure what the future held, but he felt ready to face whatever came his way—one step at a time, with his friends and Pokémon by his side.
Then something whenr passed, in a yellow blur as it's eyes meet ash as the Pokémon noded his head, as the Pokémon then ran, as this was Raikou.
Ash felt and as he spoke. "Again, why again".
Haru blinked and looked at him. "So you had your own Suicune moment huh".
Ash looked at him. "First you meet Suicune in this town, and by what you said again, and now I meet Raikou again why is this happening".
Haru glanced at Ash, the realization dawning on him. "Seems like the legendary beasts have a way of showing up when they're needed. Suicune's appearance in this town wasn't just coincidence, and neither is Raikou's now." He paused for a moment, considering the weight of what Ash had just said. "Maybe it's not about what's happening to you, but rather what you're meant to learn from these encounters."
Ash's thoughts raced. His heart pounded in his chest as the yellow blur that had been Raikou disappeared into the distance, its powerful presence still lingering in the air. He had felt that same electricity, that undeniable connection, like when he had seen Suicune. And yet, something felt different this time—like he had a part to play in something much bigger than he could comprehend.
"Why is this happening to me?" Ash repeated, his voice quieter now. "I'm just a Trainer, trying to do my best... but Raikou, Suicune… It's like they want me to be involved in something that's beyond me."
Haru gave a soft laugh, his gaze steady. "You're not just any Trainer, Ash. You're the one who connects with Pokémon. You've always had this ability to understand them in ways others can't. Maybe these Pokémon—the legendary ones—they see that in you. They see your heart."
Ash frowned, unsure how to process everything. His mind couldn't wrap itself around the significance of these encounters. "But what's the purpose? Am I supposed to catch them? Help them? What if I mess it up again like I did with Lugia?"
Haru shook his head slowly. "You don't need to catch them. It's not about that. It's about what you're meant to do with them—how your journey and theirs can come together. Sometimes, legendaries appear to those who need them most, or to those who will shape their future. You've seen this before, Ash. Think about your connection with Pikachu, your bond with all your Pokémon. You've never been the type to back down from a challenge."
Ash took a deep breath. Haru's words were beginning to sink in. He wasn't meant to control or capture these legendary creatures. It wasn't about him owning them—it was about understanding them and respecting the role they played in the world.
The sound of Raikou's roar echoed in the distance, and Ash could still feel the electricity in the air. His gaze moved back to the dark horizon, where the beast had disappeared.
"Maybe... Maybe it's about me growing alongside them. About understanding my purpose in this crazy journey of mine," Ash mused, the realization beginning to take root in his heart. "Not all battles are meant to be fought with strength. Sometimes it's about finding a way to work together, to protect what we care about."
Haru smiled, his eyes thoughtful as he looked out at the darkened horizon. "Exactly. And you'll figure it out. Whatever happens, Ash, I know you'll be ready when the time comes."
Ash nodded, feeling a sense of calm settle over him. He wasn't sure what the future held or why these legendary Pokémon were crossing his path. But one thing was clear—he wasn't going to face it alone. He had his friends, his Pokémon, and now, a deeper understanding of his connection to the world around him.
For the first time in a while, Ash felt ready.
Haru looked at Ash. "So how many badge".
Ash pulled out his padge case, as he showed to Haru. "Four, I am going to battle Jasmine next"
Haru got up and looked at him. "Will, just good luck when you go and fight her and then go and battle with Whitney for your rematch".
Ash looked at Haru walking away. "Wait tell me something, you said you were a trainer in 10 then went on a break for 6 years why".
Haru looked at him. "I lost an important battle, so released all my Original Pokémon, so now i am starting again".
Ash looked at him. "Who defeated you".
Haru looked at you. "I don't you will meet him, maybe if you make to try champion league, but you may know the name it is Lance"
Ash's eyes widened at the mention of Lance. The name was familiar to him—it belonged to one of the strongest Trainers in the world, the Champion of the Johto League. Ash had always heard about Lance's immense power, but hearing it from Haru made him stop and think for a moment.
"Lance?" Ash repeated, still processing the words. "You... lost to Lance?"
Haru nodded slowly, a somber expression crossing his face. "Yes. It was a battle I won't forget. He and his Dragonite were on a whole other level. I pushed myself, trained harder than I ever had before, but in the end, I wasn't ready. And in my frustration, I made the decision to release all of my Pokémon." He paused for a moment, the weight of those memories lingering in the air. "I needed a break. I couldn't handle the loss at the time, so I stepped away from being a Trainer."
Ash stood there, stunned, his mind racing with the implications. Losing to someone like Lance was no small thing, and to hear that it had shaken Haru so much made him realize just how high the stakes were in the world of Pokémon. But what struck him the most was the fact that Haru had released all his Pokémon after that.
"I can't even imagine..." Ash said quietly, thinking of all the friends he had made over the years. "But you came back, right? You didn't give up."
Haru's eyes softened, and a faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "No, I didn't. It took time, but I realized that a single loss doesn't define who you are as a Trainer. My bond with my Pokémon—those bonds—they're what matter most." He gave Ash a reassuring look. "You'll learn that too. Don't let your losses define you. Use them to fuel your growth."
Ash nodded slowly, his resolve strengthening. Hearing Haru's story reminded him of all the tough battles he'd faced and lost, but also of all the victories he had won with the help of his friends.
"Thanks, Haru," Ash said, looking at him with a newfound respect. "I'll remember that."
Haru turned to leave, glancing back over his shoulder. "Good luck with Jasmine. And remember, when you face Lance one day, it's not just about being the strongest—it's about knowing when to push forward and when to accept where you are. You'll get there, Ash."
As Haru walked away, Ash couldn't help but feel more determined. He wasn't just a young Trainer—he was someone who had been shaped by his experiences and the people he met along the way. And with every challenge, whether he won or lost, he would keep moving forward, just like Haru had.
Turning back to the horizon, Ash felt a new sense of purpose building inside him. He wasn't just battling for badges anymore; he was battling to grow, to become the best Trainer he could be, no matter what obstacles lay ahead.
