Pokemon Earth’s Parallel World: Dragon Trainer

Chapter 101 – Qualification? (I know, I’m sucked at making title)

They witnessed how the seed grew instantaneously, which was utterly astonishing.

Floyd heard some noise behind him and turned to see Chen Yu, Le Mai Linh, Ivan, Kang Jihoon, Li Qin, and Kanraku approaching.

He smiled and said, "Perfect timing, I'm about to show you something interesting."

He proceeded to set up a camera on a tripod, checked the video to ensure everything was in order, and then handed it over to them. "Watch this,"

Floyd stated simply, without any further explanation.

Chen Yu immediately grabbed the camera. His curiosity had been piqued for quite some time, and he was eager to see how everything had unfolded. He pressed play and started watching the video.

Floyd left them to it, knowing that the video was quite lengthy and might take them hours to watch in its entirety. In the meantime, he called all the Pokémon over, clapping his hands to get their attention. "You've all done an excellent job, and I'm very pleased with your efforts. As promised, here's your reward," he announced.

He had prepared food as a reward for them earlier, so he presented a large bag filled to the brim with Pokéblocks. The eyes of every Pokémon present lit up with excitement, their fatigue seemingly vanishing at the sight of their hard-earned rewards. They quickly formed a line as Floyd distributed their shares.

Many of the Pokémon were already content with their lives, desiring nothing more than to have enough food to eat each day. Even the wild Pokémon were beginning to reconsider their plans to leave after a week; they were perfectly satisfied at the moment.

"It's all thanks to the two of you, and of course, the four of you as well," Floyd said as he patted the two Cherrim and handed them their share of the food. He didn't forget to praise the four Petilil either.

The two Cherrim blushed and transformed from their Sunshine Form to their Overcast Form, took their food, and ran off.

Floyd couldn't help but feel amused by their reaction. After he finished distributing the rewards, he took another look at the seed that had transformed into a sapling. He shook his head and sighed, muttering to himself, "It would be great if I had a Pokémon that could learn Grassy Terrain."

However, he knew that only a select few Pokémon were capable of learning Grassy Terrain innately, and they were hard to find.

A few moments later, Floyd noticed Miltank and Mime Jr. rushing toward Togepi.

"Mime, mime," Mime Jr. chatted with Togepi, pointing at the irate Miltank, who stood with her hips on her hands, glaring at the mischievous Togepi like a mother would.

"Chaki?" Togepi trembled, realizing her guilt, and hid behind Mime Jr.

"Mil-tank," Miltank approached and began scolding the young Togepi.

Floyd guessed that the little one must have run away and followed the group here, which would explain her sudden appearance.

"Chaki~ Kuriiii~" Togepi looked up at Miltank with watery eyes, pleading.

Miltank stopped, looked at Togepi's cute expression, sighed, and finally nodded.

"Chakii~ Kurii~" Togepi jumped up happily, grabbed a Pokéblock, and gave one each to Miltank and Mime Jr.

"Mime?"

"Miltank?"

They looked at her, confused.

"Chaki~ Chakii~ Kuriii," Togepi called over Teddiursa, the three Cherubi, Ekans, and even the four Petilil to join in the fun.

"Chakiii~ Chakiii~," Togepi introduced each of them one by one.

Miltank and Mime Jr. were initially wary of Ekans, but seeing that it was friendly, they let their guard down and joined in.

Floyd approached Chen Yu and the others, who were still engrossed in watching the video, and asked, "How's it going? Have you finished watching?"

"Almost. Here comes the good part," Chen Yu replied, but his and the others' attention remained fixed on the video, where the two Cherrim were now activating Sunny Day.

Soon, the seed's remarkable growth was captured clearly in the footage, and once again, the onlookers' eyes widened in shock. Though most of them had already witnessed the event firsthand, it was still surprising to see it a second time.

"WHAT?" But there was one person whose face was a picture of disbelief—Kanraku. This was his first time watching the event unfold, and his reaction mirrored that of Chen Yu and the others when they had first witnessed it.

"So, it can be utilized in this manner, and also in this way; why didn't this occur to me earlier?" Kanraku repeatedly murmured to himself, deep in contemplation. Being both a biologist and a scientist, he possessed fundamental knowledge in the field of botany. Consequently, he was able to comprehend each step of Floyd's process.

"Manipulating the environment to expedite the seed's growth with minimal materials required, utilizing just these creatures and a handful of items like manure. How did this never cross my mind? While this approach is indeed feasible, the rapid growth is still astonishing. Had I not witnessed it with my own eyes, I would have deemed it impossible," Kanraku remarked.

"It's not solely about controlling the environment; it's also about harnessing the beasts' potent elemental energy, which significantly influences seed growth. Additionally, the manure fertilizer used here is extraordinary; it originates from the creatures themselves and is substantially richer in nutrients than regular manure. And did you notice the water I sprinkled on the seeds? It's derived from the skin of dried berries and is used to make Healing Powder. These two little ones," Floyd gestured towards the Cherrim, "They possess an ability I've dubbed 'Sunny Day.' They're the evolved form of Cherubi. Once they evolve into Cherrim, they automatically acquire this move. This was the reason why wild beasts are so crucial."

"As for the bee, it's unfortunate that only one was caught. This particular type of bee can produce honey, which is not only beneficial for health but also tastes exquisite. If combined with my Pokéblocks or any other food, the result would undoubtedly be divine," Floyd said, glancing regretfully at Beedrill.

"You also know how to produce honey?" Kang Jihoon asked, surprised.

"It's not me who produces it; it's the bee. However, I do know how to manage them. To be honest, there's a bee that produces even better honey than this one - the Combee. It's a creature with three heads. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any in this forest," Floyd explained.

"Oh, are you referring to this?" Kanraku took out his smartphone, searched through his documents, and showed the information to Floyd.

Floyd's eyes lit up as he looked at the document, then at Kanraku, "You know where to find it?"

"Yes, it's actually located near the area where the Yellow Leaf, that you're searching for, grows," Kanraku confirmed with a nod.

"I see. I might indeed need to pay a visit there," Floyd responded, nodding in agreement.

"When are you planning to go?" Kanraku inquired.

"After I've finished taking care of these wild creatures," Floyd replied, gesturing towards the Pokémon.

"If you're going, give me a call. I'd like to join you," Kanraku offered.

"Don't worry, I will," Floyd assured him.

"Wait, professor, youngest, what are you talking about? When are you planning to go?" Kang Jihoon interjected, confused about their conversation.

"We're planning to venture deeper into the Kemonohaji forest to find the King's Leaf, and possibly to catch other creatures like Combee and Cherubi," Floyd explained.

"Can I come along? I really want to go!" Kang Jihoon asked, his eyes filled with anticipation.

"Me too! I'm really curious about it," Le Mai Linh added, her voice filled with excitement.

"C-can I come too?" Chen Yu asked, his voice filled with uncertainty but his curiosity about the forest was piqued. He doubted they would encounter any danger as long as Floyd and Kanraku were present.

Li Qin and Ivan also expressed their interest by nodding silently, their eyes focused on Floyd, indicating their desire to join as well.

"You all?" Floyd addressed the group, "To be honest, among all of you, only Sister Linh has the qualifications. The rest of you might find yourselves in danger. Don't forget what happened to Brother Ren," he warned, reminding them of Ren Mingzhe's tragic death.

"How about next week? I know you're planning to go next week, right? Give me a chance to show you if I'm qualified," Kang Jihoon suggested, looking determined.
