Pokemon : I Am A Breeder/Champion

Chapter 12: 12. About The Division Of Strength Levels

Pichu was just a newborn baby.

So it didn't need too many energy cubes to fill up.

It only cost five or six energy cubes to satisfy its little appetite.

After eating, the little guy lay down directly on the table.

It looked very content.

Seeing this, several small bean sprout-like things quickly gathered around.

They poked and prodded Pichu here and there until Pichu started to use **Discharge**.

The little Pokémon quickly scattered!

"Pichu!"

Pichu glared at them with great dissatisfaction.

Were they really picking on it just because it was young?

Not long after, Luna arrived with a sealed bag, ready to pack up the energy cubes.

Evan's side was also producing a steady stream of energy cubes.

Each one was a different color and had different effects.

Once packed, the energy cubes were placed neatly to the side, and Evan labeled them.

There were over a dozen varieties, each in small bags, which were then stored in a carton.

After finishing up, the sky had grown darker.

The day passed by like that.

After dinner and a quick wash, Evan returned to his room.

After thinking for a moment, Evan picked up his phone and called Professor Ethan.

When it came to registering a patent, he figured Professor Ethan could help him out.

He didn't want to deal with long lines at the patent office.

Professor Ethan was a bit surprised when he learned what Evan wanted.

"Register a patent?"

"Are you planning to become a breeder?"

"Not a trainer, but a breeder, huh?"

Thinking of Evan's school grades, he nodded.

"That works."

"I'll reach out to the Breeders Association for you. Just go there tomorrow."

"I'll get someone to assist you."

"Oh, and there's an advanced breeder's exam tomorrow. Want to give it a try?"

"I remember you're already an intermediate breeder."

"Why not go for the advanced certificate too?"

As Professor Ethan spoke, he remembered something and suggested it to Evan.

Evan, who was at the orphanage, was briefly taken aback by the idea but quickly agreed.

"Sure, no problem."

"I can handle the advanced breeder exam now."

"In that case, I might as well take care of other things too."

"After the exam, I'll apply for the breeding house license."

"Oh, by the way, Professor Ethan, does anyone over there need a patent?"

"My energy cube recipes are all low- to mid-tier and perfect for commercial use."

"I wouldn't mind selling them if there's demand."

"After all, everything I plan to do next is going to cost money."

Since that was the case, Evan figured he'd ask Professor Ethan for help with everything.

He already owed him one favor—what's another?

Professor Ethan was puzzled by Evan's words.

"You…"

He was at a loss for words.

But instead of dwelling on it, he responded with interest.

"So, you're really going down the breeder's path?"

"You're even thinking about opening a breeding house?"

Though Evan wasn't a trainer, he seemed like he'd make a great breeder.

And he already had several energy cube patents!

How much was this kid hiding?

Evan didn't try to conceal anything.

"Trainers need money, but breeders can make money."

"When I've earned enough, maybe I'll think about competing or something."

"For now, I'll focus on making money first."

Evan didn't have the funds to be a Trainer just yet, so his plan was to earn money and then pursue training later.

Professor Ethan couldn't help but chuckle.

"Alright."

"As long as you know what you're doing."

"I'll support you no matter what."

"If you need help, just let me know."

"Now go to the Breeders Association tomorrow."

"It just so happens that I'm also the examiner tomorrow," Professor Ethan added with a chuckle. "Oh, and I'll introduce you to the person who needs the patent."

...

Evan ended the call with Professor Ethan and let out a sigh of relief.

Once everything was in order, and the next few tasks were completed, his breeding house could finally open for business.

With that thought in mind, Evan didn't waste any time and climbed into bed to rest.

Pichu had been taken by Luna and the others.

Most likely, Luna would cuddle it like a pillow and fall asleep.

Now that Evan could raise Pokémon, the young girls at the orphanage were probably the happiest.

There hadn't been any Pokémon to care for back when the old dean was in charge.

Evan smiled at the thought and didn't dwell on it too much.

After checking on the egg beside his bed—one Professor Ethan had given him—he settled in for the night, ready to respond if anything happened.

...

The next morning, Evan took care of the orphanage's daily tasks and prepared to head out with the box of energy cubes he'd made the day before.

He and Professor Ethan had arranged to meet at the entrance of the Breeders Association at ten o'clock.

Leaving now, the timing would be just right.

Carrying the box of energy cubes and Pichu, Evan boarded the bus toward the Breeders Association.

At first, there were no other passengers.

The bus had practically turned into Evan's personal ride.

Sitting at the front, Evan chatted casually with the driver as they made their way through the community.

As they progressed, more people got on board.

Naturally, Evan, with Pichu perched on his shoulder, became the center of attention.

Many young girls couldn't help but look longingly at the adorable Pokémon.

It was Pichu's first time seeing so many people, and its curious, wide-eyed gaze drew even more admiration.

The way Pichu's cute, big eyes scanned the crowd made several young ladies' hearts melt.

Everyone wanted to reach out and pet the little Pokémon.

However, with the occasional **Spark** flickering on Pichu's cheeks, they hesitated.

If it weren't for Pichu's cautious look and the sparks, Evan would probably find his shoulder empty by now.

The box Evan was carrying also drew attention.

The faint fragrance coming from it was unmistakable—energy cubes.

Clearly, the young man in front of them, who looked as handsome as a model, was a skilled breeder.

And not just any breeder, but someone of considerable rank.

This was impressive.

While breeders are often overlooked compared to Trainers, high-level breeders are rare.

As for master-level breeders, they are even scarcer, equivalent to an Elite-level Trainer.

An Elite Trainer, after all, could even become the Gym Leader of a city.

In the Dragon Kingdom Alliance, there were four official Elites, but in reality, all four were considered champions.

The champion of the Dragon Kingdom was the strongest among them, holding the highest position.

To sit on the champion's throne required not only defeating the Elite Four but also battling powerful Gym Leaders.

Achieving the title of champion in the Dragon Kingdom was a nearly impossible feat.

Although Evan wasn't at that level yet, he was well on his way.

Trainer ranks were divided into Novice, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Elite, Quasi-Elite, Elite, Champion, Master, and finally, Grandmaster.

Breeders followed a similar system:

Rookie Breeder, Junior Breeder, Intermediate Breeder, Advanced Breeder, and Master Breeder.

While there were fewer levels for breeders, each one required significant skill and dedication.
