Pokemon : I Am A Breeder/Champion

Chapter 18: 18. Wouldn’T It Be Nice To Help Me Make Money Together?

The three Pokémon released by Sophia stunned the children at the orphanage.

"Is that... a pseudo-legendary?"

Luna stared at the Pokémon in front of her, astonished.

This Pokémon, which she'd only seen on TV, was now standing right in front of her? Even though she was only in elementary school, she knew what Garchomp represented.

Evan had taught them well.

Except for a few four- or five-year-olds who didn't understand much, the rest of the children were mesmerized.

"Wow~~!"

"So cool!!"

The younger kids gazed at Garchomp, simply awed by how strong and cool it looked.

A few of the little ones rushed over to it, not feeling scared at all.

"Garchomp?"

Seeing the tiny kids darting toward him, Garchomp looked startled. Battling was one thing, but this group of human children made him a bit nervous.

"Garchomp, be careful not to hurt them. And Absol too," Sophia called out quickly, concerned the Pokémon might unintentionally hurt the children.

Garchomp and Absol felt slightly dejected. What? Their Trainer actually wanted them to entertain these human children? How frustrating!

But, despite their reluctance, they obeyed.

When Luna and the others saw this, they became even more excited, quickly joining the little ones in playing with the Pokémon.

Logically, Ralts, the youngest of them, should have been the favorite among the children. But as soon as it was released, Ralts took a quick look around, then used Teleport to disappear.

Sophia watched it vanish and sighed. It headed straight back to the house, probably looking for Evan.

Honestly, was this her Pokémon or Evan's Pokémon?

Why was it always so attached to him?

Could Psychic-types really do as they pleased? Unbelievable!

Meanwhile, Evan had picked up the drawings he'd been working on and was about to go downstairs when Ralts suddenly appeared on his shoulder.

Evan couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of the little Pokémon.

"Ralts!"

'?(^?^*)'

Ralts rubbed up against Evan happily, glad to see its friend again.

Evan petted it for a bit before heading downstairs.

When he saw the scene outside, he was speechless.

By now, Garchomp had completely become the children's plaything, with kids clinging to it and refusing to let go. Absol was being ridden by a little girl barely four years old, who looked utterly delighted.

A glint of surprise flashed in Evan's eyes as he watched. Sophia's Pokémon were truly rare.

It was clear she came from a wealthy family, and her Pokémon were impressively strong—probably on par with those used by Gym Leaders. Elite level…

She must have started training after graduating high school. Having money really did make a difference~~!

After musing about it for a moment, Evan dismissed the thought. It wasn't really his concern.

Though, he couldn't help but think briefly, *If only I had a rich friend who might want to treat me to a meal…* But, he let the thought go.

"Here," Evan said, handing Sophia the plans. "It's all laid out here. Just show it to the construction company, and they should be able to follow it."

Sophia nodded as she took the drawings, unfolding them for a quick look.

Just then, Evan's Pichu toddled over, looking quite displeased.

"Pichu! !"

Pichu glared at Ralts, clearly annoyed.

That spot on Evan's shoulder was its special place! Who did this Pokémon think it was?

"Ralts?" Ralts tilted its head, noticing Pichu's glare. With a little huff, Ralts extended its hand and used telekinesis to nudge Pichu aside.

Pichu tumbled across the ground, rolling a few times, and immediately got angry.

"Pichu!!" Sparks flickered around Pichu's body as it prepared to retaliate.

But before it could act, Evan shot them a stern look. "What are you two doing?"

"Qiuqiu~~!" Pichu's defiance quickly turned to timidity. The sparks vanished as it rushed over to hug Evan's leg, nuzzling him for reassurance.

Evan raised an eyebrow at Pichu, then placed Ralts back on his shoulder in full view of Pichu. "Alright, you two, play nice. No more arguing."

Pichu nodded vigorously, not daring to protest.

"Ralts~!" Ralts, sitting back down, extended a small hand to Pichu as a gesture of peace.

Though Pichu was still a little miffed, it managed a forced smile and shook Ralts' hand.

Evan turned his attention back to Sophia, leaving the two Pokémon to figure things out. After quickly scanning the plans, Sophia looked up at Evan and said, "Senior Evan, this looks perfect. They'll know how to set it up."

Evan nodded in response. "Great. Just follow the layout as I've drawn it. We might not have the resources for special climate control, but this should be enough. Only the lower area will need modification; as for the mountain itself, let's leave it untouched."

"No need to displace any of the Pokémon up there. Just keep the natural environment intact," he continued. "Later on, I'll speak with the wild Pokémon on the mountain and ask them to help maintain the orchard. We can plant some berries up there as well."

He smiled, his mind drifting. "Who knows? Maybe some of those wild Pokémon might be ideal partners for new Trainers in the future."

Reflecting on his decision, Evan chuckled. Though he'd initially considered reshaping the entire mountain, he realized it wasn't necessary. The mountain, though not huge, was home to many Pokémon. Forcing them out would only disrupt their lives.

By coexisting with the wild Pokémon, he could involve them in caring for the orchard and other Pokémon. In Evan's view, it was a win-win—a natural partnership where everyone, even the wild Pokémon, would be part of a thriving ecosystem.

After all, what better way to make things work than by working together?
