Pokemon : I Am A Breeder/Champion

Chapter 43: 43. Ralts's sister

Sophia wanted to pack Evan's materials again.

Evan was speechless when he heard what Sophia said.

"No!"

"That's not good."

"I'd better go to the wholesaler to order some simple materials."

"It's not appropriate to trouble you all the time."

"Unless it's for materials I can't find, it's more like I'm asking for your help."

"If I ask you to prepare everything, how can you still run your family's business?"

Everyone should take responsibility for their own matters.

Evan felt a little guilty for constantly asking Sophia to help. After all, the materials she provided also cost money.

The origin of some Berries wasn't in their region but abroad. Because of this, even though her family owned an orchard, they likely only produced enough for domestic use. In fact, whether the orchard's output was sufficient was another question altogether.

For common materials, it was better to handle it yourself. There was no need to constantly inconvenience someone else. Evan resolved to visit tree fruit wholesalers and supply vendors to order what he needed—these materials were readily available in the market.

Sophia was about to respond, but when she noticed the resolute look in Evan's eyes, she held back what she wanted to say.

"All right," she said eventually. "But, Evan, if there are any materials you can't find, just let me know. I still have plenty of Pokémon that need your care."

Her tone was serious. The main reason was that she wanted to maintain a good relationship with Evan. A master Pokémon Breeder was invaluable. Additionally, she genuinely enjoyed spending time with him. Because of this, she was eager to help however she could.

When Evan heard Sophia's words, he nodded calmly.

"Of course, I won't refuse. Don't worry."

...

After hearing Evan's reply, Sophia's face lit up with a bright smile.

At this moment, Ralts sensed Sophia's arrival and teleported to her side. It leapt toward Sophia with excitement. Though Ralts was very attached to Evan, Sophia was its Trainer.

Besides, Ralts always had its sister on its mind. While it couldn't make Evan's Pokémon its own family, it had another plan in motion.

Ralts had secretly begun preparing to bring its sister to meet Evan. After all, its sister was still a wild Pokémon. If Evan were to catch her, Ralts could evolve and stay with its sister. Later, it could ask Sophia for permission to visit its sister, ensuring a valid reason to return to see Evan too.

It was certain Sophia would agree to this plan.

Ralts had only been able to accompany Sophia thanks to its sister's blessing. It was time to bring things full circle.

It was Ralts' sister who had originally been given to Sophia.

"Raaalts~!"

Cuddling Sophia warmly, Ralts let out a sweet cry.

As she gazed at the Pokémon in her arms, Sophia's eyes sparkled with excitement.

"Ralts, you seem to have grown so much stronger!" she exclaimed. "Evan is really amazing. It looks like you'll be ready to evolve soon."

Had Ralts really gotten this much stronger after just a few days? Sophia was thrilled.

Hearing Sophia's words, Ralts nodded enthusiastically. It had been battling wild Pokémon in the mountains daily—how could it not grow stronger?

Evan understood the cause behind Ralts' progress. After all, he was the one who had encouraged Ralts to train this way. Recently, he had been too busy crafting energy cubes to supervise, so Ralts had been left to hone its skills independently. The results, however, were highly rewarding.

While Evan and Sophia were chatting, Violet arrived not long afterward, riding her motorcycle alongside a small truck. She pulled up to Evan's breeding house and parked the bike with a loud screech before calling out.

"Evan! Are you here?"

Hearing the familiar sound of Violet's motorcycle, Evan instantly recognized her arrival. He came to the door, shaking his head slightly.

"Just come in," he said calmly. "Your energy cubes are in the backyard. Ask your driver to loop around and enter through the side gate."

With that, Evan turned back toward the house, leaving Violet to follow quickly behind him.

"Where are they?" Violet asked eagerly. "Are all the energy cubes ready?"

She had been waiting impatiently for this moment and couldn't hide her excitement. But mixed with her enthusiasm was a hint of nervousness; she couldn't relax until she saw the energy cubes herself.

"They're all done," Evan replied with a nod. "I've already had them moved to the backyard. Sophia is here too."

Violet perked up at this news and quickened her pace as they made their way to the backyard. When they arrived, Evan gestured to several large boxes stacked neatly nearby.

"Those are your energy cubes," he said, pointing them out.

The moment Violet saw the boxes with her name on them, her eyes lit up. Without hesitation, she rushed over to inspect them. Evan followed, kneeling beside one of the boxes and opening it to explain.

"I've portioned the energy cubes carefully," he said. "Each small box contains a single meal. Pokémon only need to eat one per meal. For larger eaters, like Aggron, I've packed bigger portions in larger boxes. Rest assured, the quantities are perfectly calculated."

"These servings are tailored to each Pokémon's appetite," he continued. "Three meals a day—one for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This shipment contains enough for exactly 30 days."

Violet listened closely, her earlier nervousness melting away as she inspected the neatly packed energy cubes.

Evan opened the box and took out Metagross's energy cube. Then, he opened another box and removed a larger container from inside.

Each portion had been carefully calculated and packaged. Evan knew that if Pokémon owners were left to distribute the cubes freely, the results would be chaotic. The Pokémon would end up overeating, devouring the cubes every time they were hungry—or even when they were just bored. This would make the month's supply run out far too quickly.

Evan understood Pokémon appetites well, which is why he took extra precautions. His system ensured the cubes lasted as planned.

Violet immediately nodded in agreement upon hearing Evan's explanation.

"Got it," she said cheerfully. "Makes perfect sense."

She seemed satisfied with how well-organized the portions were. Glancing at the energy cubes, she suddenly grinned, reaching for her Poké Balls.

Without hesitation, Violet released all of her Pokémon.

A chorus of cries—"Metagross! Aggron!"—filled the air as six massive Pokémon appeared, their impressive forms exuding power. Their sheer presence made the atmosphere feel heavy, a testament to their strength and size.

This was Evan's first time seeing Violet's Pokémon. As he observed the towering creatures, his eyes lit up with admiration.

They were clearly well-trained. Every Pokémon radiated discipline and battle-hardened energy.

For a moment, Evan felt a spark of excitement. His hands twitched slightly—an urge to battle them rising within him. It would be thrilling to test himself against such formidable opponents. However, he quickly suppressed the thought, shaking it off before it could take hold.

Calm down, he reminded himself. This isn't the time to mess around.

Meanwhile, Sophia's shiny Metagross turned its piercing gaze toward Evan. Its steely eyes locked onto him, its Psychic energy swirling subtly in the air.

Evan immediately noticed the change. Metagross had sensed something. Using its Psychic powers, it could feel the aura emanating from Evan—a force that made it instinctively wary.

This human... Metagross thought. He's dangerous.

Even as a powerful Pokémon, Metagross couldn't ignore the intimidating presence Evan exuded. His latent energy—sharp and restless—was something to be feared.
