"Geodude, intercept Eevee!"

Hearing Tyson's command, Brock realized he couldn't let Geodude continue building momentum, so he issued a counterattack.

Unfortunately, Geodude's speed was too slow.

Under the effect of Yawn, its movements became sluggish, creating the perfect opportunity for Eevee to strike again.

Unable to dodge in time, Geodude was sent flying by another barrage of Swift.

"Snap out of it, Geodude! Use Rock Throw to defend!"

The sharp pain and Brock's loud call jolted Geodude awake, but Tyson had no intention of giving it any chance to retaliate.

Before Geodude could even set up its attack, Eevee unleashed yet another Swift, delivering a relentless onslaught.

Skill mastery on a higher level has its perks.

"Eevee, close the gap with Quick Attack, and finish it off with Swift!"

With Tyson's command, Eevee dashed forward in a blur of white light, quickly closing the distance.

Geodude, overwhelmed by the relentless attacks and still unable to recover, collapsed to the ground, its eyes swirling in defeat.

"Well, well, it's been a while since I've faced such a strong trainer," Brock said with a grin. "This is getting exciting!"

He retrieved Geodude's Poké Ball and sent out his next Pokémon.

"Your turn, Onix!"

Brock's words might have seemed encouraging, but Tyson saw through them. The gym leader's praise wasn't necessarily sincere; it was likely intended to test the challenger's composure.

"Let's not get carried away," Tyson thought, recalling stories of trainers who became overconfident in their abilities only to falter under pressure.

As Onix took the field, Tyson didn't waste a second.

"Eevee, use Swift!"

Instead of switching Pokémon, Tyson decided to have Eevee deal as much damage as possible to Onix, setting the stage for his Charmeleon.

Like Geodude, Onix had poor special defense. Even Eevee's Swift, with its advanced proficiency, forced Onix to endure the attacks.

"Onix, counter with Rock Slide!" Brock called out.

The massive serpent Pokémon retaliated by summoning a cascade of boulders. Not only did the rocks block Eevee's attack, but they also aimed to strike the agile Eevee.

"Eevee, weave through with Quick Attack!"

Eevee nimbly darted between the falling rocks, further closing the gap between itself and Onix.

"Keep up the Rock Slide, Onix! Don't let Eevee get close!"

Brock had clearly learned from Geodude's earlier defeat. He refused to allow Eevee any opportunity to approach.

The battlefield quickly lived up to its name, becoming littered with rocks.

"Eevee, come back. You've done a fantastic job," Tyson said as he recalled the panting Eevee into its Poké Ball.

With Onix's energy drained from the repeated Rock Slides, it was time for Tyson's next Pokémon.

"Charmeleon, let's go! Use Dragon Breath!"

The fire-red dinosaur emerged from its Poké Ball, exhaling a green dragon-like breath that rushed toward Onix.

Brock raised an eyebrow at the choice of a Fire-type Pokémon but quickly adapted.

"Onix, counter with Rock Slide!"

Boulders rained down, but Charmeleon skillfully maneuvered through the gaps left by the earlier attacks.

"Keep circling Onix and suppress it with Dragon Breath!" Tyson ordered.

Charmeleon's advanced mastery of Dragon Breath gave it the edge, landing repeated hits on Onix's massive body.

Brock wasn't going to let the Charmeleon dictate the pace.

"Onix, use Dragon Breath as well!"

Two streams of green energy collided mid-air, but Charmeleon's superior mastery overpowered Onix's attack, landing a direct hit on its rocky frame.

"Onix, use the rocks around you for an improvised attack!"

Twisting its massive body, Onix flung chunks of rock at Charmeleon with brute force.

"Charmeleon, use the gaps to evade and counter!"

The Charmeleon navigated the chaotic battlefield with precision. As the rocks hurtled toward it, Charmeleon slashed through them with its claws glowing from Slash, closing the distance.

"Now, finish it! Use Dragon Breath at close range!"

Charmeleon's glowing green breath struck Onix square in the head, causing it to stagger.

"Onix, hold your ground!" Brock shouted, but the mighty serpent couldn't keep up.

Taking advantage of its sluggish movements, Charmeleon delivered another well-timed Dragon Breath, followed by a decisive Slash.

Onix roared in pain before collapsing in defeat.
