When Ash saw Kai, he was naturally very surprised. He shouted, "Kai! Quick, help me grab that Poké Ball! My Pikachu is inside!"

Even Pikachu, who had always managed to evade trouble, had been captured by this strange, black Poké Ball.

Ash's voice cracked with urgency, his eyes darting toward the captured Pokémon.

Kai remained calm, his years of experience evident in his measured response. With a wave of his hand, Gardevoir stepped forward, her elegant form glowing faintly in the dim light of the underground facility.

Understanding Kai's silent command, she focused her Psychic powers, her eyes glowing a bright blue as she manipulated the Poké Ball, opening it with ease.

Pikachu emerged, shaking itself as if to shake off the experience, and immediately leapt into Ash's arms.

"Don't worry," Kai said firmly, his voice steady. "I not only rescued your Pikachu, but I also freed the other Pokémon as well."

"Thank you so much!" Ash exclaimed, his voice filled with relief and gratitude. He hugged Pikachu tightly, then rushed over to check on Charizard and Squirtle.

Both Pokémon seemed unscathed, their expressions alert but unharmed. Ash sighed deeply, his anxiety easing. "Is everyone okay?"

Kai gave him a nod, then asked, "What's the situation upstairs?"

Ash's expression darkened, and he clenched his fists. His voice was laced with frustration and disappointment. "We lost. We couldn't beat those cloned Pokémon. They're too powerful. And Mewtwo..." Ash paused, his tone turning bitter. "Mewtwo used those strange Poké Balls to steal all of our Pokémon!"

Kai frowned but didn't seem surprised. "That was its plan all along. It lured us to this island for this very purpose. But it's over now I destroyed the equipment here. Its plan won't succeed."

Ash looked around for the first time, noticing the chaos and destruction in the room. Machines lay in ruins, sparks flying from exposed wires, and the air smelled faintly of burnt metal. His eyes widened in amazement. "I was wondering why I didn't see you earlier... But, Kai, how did you know there were hidden devices here?"

Kai hesitated, clearly not wanting to answer. After a moment, he deflected the question. "That's not important right now. Let's focus on helping the others!"

Realizing the urgency, Ash nodded, and the two of them, along with the freed Pokémon, left the room.

They climbed the stairs quickly, their footsteps echoing in the narrow corridors. Ash kept glancing at Pikachu, his worry not entirely gone despite its return.

When they reached the first-floor lobby, they found Misty and Brock standing their ground, confronting Mewtwo.

The legendary Pokémon floated before them, its aura radiating an intimidating power. Misty's Starmie and Brock's Onix were nowhere to be seen, a stark reminder of what had been taken from them.

"Humans," Mewtwo said in its deep, emotionless voice, "I do not wish to harm you. Leave now." Its tone carried a chilling finality. "Of course, if you want to return to the mainland safely, you'll have to face the storm on your own."

Misty clenched her fists, her eyes blazing with defiance. Brock stood beside her, silent but resolute.

They both knew that crossing the raging storm without help was impossible. And even more unthinkable was the idea of leaving without their Pokémon.

Ash and Kai entered the scene, their arrival drawing everyone's attention. Behind them, the previously captured Pokémon followed, safe and unharmed.

"What's going on here?" Mewtwo's frown deepened, its gaze flickering between the humans and the Pokémon. Finally, its piercing eyes landed on Kai.

"Was this your doing?" Mewtwo asked, its voice sharp with accusation.

Kai met its gaze, unflinching. "It was."

Mewtwo sneered. "I planned to deal with you last. Yet, you've managed to cause me so much trouble in such a short time."

Kai's tone was calm, almost taunting. "That's the thing about plans. No matter how carefully you design them, there will always be factors beyond your control."

Ash, fueled by anger, suddenly ran toward Mewtwo, his fist raised in a desperate attempt to strike the Pokémon responsible for their suffering.

Mewtwo barely reacted. Its eyes glowed blue, and Ash was stopped mid-air, suspended by an invisible force. With a flick of its wrist, Mewtwo sent him flying backwards.

Ash tumbled through the air, heading straight for a jagged stone wall. Misty gasped, but before Ash could crash, a soft pink bubble appeared behind him, cushioning his impact.

From the bubble emerged a small, pink Pokémon, its playful demeanour a stark contrast to the tense atmosphere. It floated gently, its large, expressive eyes scanning the scene with curiosity.

"Mew!" Brock exclaimed, his voice filled with awe.

"Mew?" Mewtwo's gaze sharpened as it studied the newcomer. "So, you're Mew. The Pokémon I was created from."

Mew ignored the tension entirely. It twirled in the air, its movements almost childlike, as if unaware of the gravity of the situation.

Mewtwo's expression hardened. It extended its arm, energy gathering in its palm, and fired a sphere of light at Mew.

Mew glanced at the attack and effortlessly dodged, its movements graceful and fluid.

Mewtwo's frustration grew, and it launched a barrage of energy balls, but Mew evaded them all with ease.

The attacks missed their mark, striking the ground and nearby structures, leaving explosions in their wake.

"You may have been my prototype," Mewtwo declared, its voice rising with anger, "but I am the superior being! I am the ultimate Pokémon!"

It floated higher into the air, facing Mew directly. The tension between them was palpable. Mewtwo radiated hostility, its aura dark and menacing, while Mew's gentle presence seemed almost mocking.

"Why don't you fight back?!" Mewtwo demanded, its voice filled with frustration. "Do you keep running because you fear me?"

Mew continued to avoid Mewtwo's attacks, its demeanour unchanged. It seemed uninterested in engaging as if the fight was beneath it.

Mewtwo enraged, gathered an enormous sphere of energy, pouring its full strength into the attack. It hurled the energy ball at Mew, the force of the attack shaking the ground below.

Mew was struck and sent flying into the clouds. The explosion lit up the sky, and everyone below held their breath.

Seconds later, the same energy ball came hurtling back down, striking Mewtwo with equal force.

The impact sent Mewtwo crashing into the ground, creating a crater. When the dust settled, Mewtwo rose, unharmed, surrounded by its psychic aura. The rage within Mewtwo increased as he glanced at Mew.
