Princess Fischl

Chapter 60: 59. Blacksmith?

Chapter 59

"I suggest we go through the main exit, since it's the easiest way to get to the parking lot, and the security room is nearby," Takagi suggested, not arguing about my ability to clear the way alone.

- I agree, but it wouldn't hurt for us to stop by the dining room to replenish our food and water supplies, - Takashi said.

- Are you itching to get looting? - Saya asked with disgust. - Or maybe you're hungry?

- The news said that we should expect an evacuation that would begin "soon". But no one specified a specific time frame, it could begin in a few hours or in a week...

- Or never. - I interrupted the guy's lecture. - If this is the situation all over the world, then first of all important officials are evacuated and it is not a fact that instead of building fortifications someone will decide to break through a horde of zombies to evacuate residents, especially if nothing was said about the gathering place for subsequent evacuation, and people who understand this may well succumb to base desires and start killing, as well as raping.

- Well, you can't be so pessimistic, Emi-chan, - the nurse answered me with a soft smile.

- Oh, believe me, I'm not pessimistic, I'm more than confident that with my skills, I can emerge victorious against a group of people armed with firearms. I'm just saying this so that there won't be any more stupid questions about why we need to look for provisions. - I threw a rather eloquent glance at Takagi, from which she turned away offended.

Having finally chosen a route, we set off along the more or less quiet corridors of the school. Although we occasionally encountered groups of zombies, I got rid of them very quickly, although the same Saeko, constantly tried to join the battle. Oh, these battle maniacs, and how did she hide it from others for so long, and even now everyone perceives it more as worry for me. What else amused me on our hike was the moment when Takashi took the nurse's bags and put them in the inventory and once again, instead of surprise, only respect slipped into the same Busujima's expression, I even wonder, do they see it somehow special? Maybe I should also show off the inventory for the sake of an experiment?

In general, we walked almost at a leisurely pace and when we passed by the spiral staircase and were already close to our destination, we heard a girl's squeal, clearly hinting at a future addition to our group. Without thinking twice, I rushed in that direction. The screaming ones were trapped by zombies on the landing between floors. Jumping right into the center of the zombie group, I decapitated the zombies that were dangerously close to the panicking group with one circular motion. And Saeko and Takashi hurried after me, who for some reason I didn't understand were eager to fight, although... Takashi is a time traveler with an inventory, maybe he even has a level system? And Saeko just likes to fight. I even decided not to interfere and let them finish off the rest.

- Thank you! - one of the rescued addressed us when the last undead man had his head pierced with a wooden katana.

"Don't shout," Saeko immediately hissed at him. "Has anyone been bitten?"

- No, no! We're fine. - One of the rescued shook her head vigorously, clearly scared. It seemed they had managed to lose someone from their group.

"They look healthy," Nurse Miyamoto said, smiling openly. "We want to leave the school. Are you coming with us?"

- Yes! Yes! - the rescued ones immediately started making a noise, which is why Saeko had to hiss at them again, although it was a bit late, because the zombies started to gather again in response to the noise.

- Run to the dining hall, I'll clear the way. - I ordered and immediately rushed in the direction where the others said the dining hall was, chopping off the heads of zombies that got in my way as I ran.

After a short run down the stairs and corridor, we all burst into the dining room, which was surprisingly empty. There were no zombies or survivors in sight.

- Well, people, let's look for provisions in the kitchen and move on, - I said before turning to my fellow travelers, some of whom had managed to get out of breath.

- Let me... catch my breath, - said Igo. - And where... do you get so much strength?

The guy asked, clearly hinting at our trinity.

- A bit of a specific hobby. - Takashi shrugged. And I, not considering it necessary to answer, put the katana back into its sheath.

- I think I won't be wrong if I assume that you are into martial arts. - - Saeko smiled at the guy, clearly perceiving my silence as an unwillingness to talk about this topic. - What do you practice? Spears, naginatas, or maybe staffs?

"I am generally familiar with many types of bladed weapons, even very exotic examples," Komuro replied.

- It is not wise for a warrior to scatter his forces in many directions, because that way he will not become a master in any one path, - the girl remarked.

- I am not a warrior, I am a blacksmith. And as a blacksmith-gunsmith, I must be thoroughly familiar with different types of weapons and the specifics of their use in order to create truly convenient instruments of war, and not museum exhibits.

- A blacksmith, huh? I wonder what you're capable of if I give you special materials. - I broke the silence with a smile. I like this time traveler more and more. He doesn't cast openly lustful glances at the beautiful girls around him and seems to try to think with his head. I think a very interesting Fanfic could be written about someone like him.

- Believe me, Gojo-san, my skills will not disappoint you. - The guy answered respectfully. It's funny how he is quite sensibly wary of my strength.

- Takashi-san. I apologize for my words. - Having attracted the guy's attention, Saeko bowed.

- Nothing. What you said is true. As for my specialty, you simply couldn't know that, no one knew. - Takashi shrugged his shoulders for the umpteenth time.

- Why didn't you tell me? - Ray was clearly angry.

- I didn't see any sense or necessity, - Komuro answered his ex slightly coolly, clearly holding back from being rude. However, he still touched a nerve.

Having finished with mutual questions, we dispersed. Our most robust trio went to the kitchen to examine what was there, and the rest sat down at empty tables to rest.

Slowly looking around the kitchen, I watched the local protagonist stuff everything from kitchen utensils to cutlery into the inventory. It was only when he headed to the warehouse in search of provisions that Saeko spoke to me.

- Gojo-san, do you mind letting me take a look at your sword?

- M? Of course. - Taking off my sheath, I handed it to the girl.

Pulling the blade out of its sheath a little, she looked with admiration at the blood-red blade, which, despite dozens of decapitated zombies, remained clean.

- What kind of master forged this blade? - the girl asked, gently running her fingers along the blade's surface.

- To tell the truth, I made this nodachi myself literally a few days ago. At first I doubted how good it turned out, but today these doubts have been dispelled.

- So you are a blacksmith too? - the girl was surprised.

- No, - I answered, laughing slightly. - I'm more like a warrior, and although, like Takashi, I know how to use many types of weapons, I'm still focused on the bow and two-handed swords.

- To be honest, before you I had never seen anyone who used nodachi so masterfully, I was used to the fact that due to their size they are used more as offerings to temples, and not as weapons. - Carefully pulling the katana out of its sheath, Saeko made a couple of trial swings.

- It's just that such weapons require special skills, especially for use in confined spaces, - I explained. - But such weapons also have their advantages.

"Are you ready to go further?" Takashi's voice caught our attention, apparently having finished packing.

- I think Saeko and I were ready from the start, so you better ask the others. - I answered, taking my katana from the girl's hands.

- Then I suggest we gather the rest and go out.
