Reign Of The Crimson Queen

Chapter 3: The Start pt3

As we entered the library I started up at the glass art on the high ceiling, and looked around the room at the grand bookcases realizing I had read nearly every book here.

We approached the center table and my mother and I sat down.

"Nyssa fire a spell at me" Mother said with a smile.

"What?" I asked confused.

"Fire the strongest spell you can muster at me"

"But why?"

"Because the best way to gauge your power and control with mana is by having you use a very powerful spell so go ahead and don't worry about hurting me as an origin being I'm immortal to an extent so I'll be ok." Mother said casting a barrier around us.

"Immortal and what an origin being what is all this?" I asked utterly confused at what she said.

"That will be explained later now shoot."

"Is there no better way?"

"No this is the best one now shoot." She said her smile never fading.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes I am"

"Ok here I go." I channeled all my mana into my hand and envisioned the spell I wanted to use. As well as the incantation required without words and in an instant I initiated the spell Universal Cascade. I raised my hand at her and fired as it made contact the universe shattered around her.Causing the area around us to lose all meaning distorting existence itself. The universe began collapsing in on her with so much force the barrier cracked. Then the universe in an attempt to repair itself then crashed into her again. After the chaos finished there was a crack that looked like broken glass just floating. Immediately as my mother saw the crack the barrier around us changed to one I've never seen, and she sat there beaming with a smile at me.

"I'm so proud I never imagined you would be able to Universal Cascade at nearly full power oh that's amazing." She exclaimed practically jumping "Now a few issues and things I noticed first your control is all over the place you poured so much mana into that spell but most of it bled off because you cut the incantation but I do think that was on purpose am I correct?" She asked

"Yes I just didn't feel like saying the incantation"

"When cutting an incantation mana control is everything you lost nearly seventy percent of the mana you poured into it to bleed off because you couldn't control it properly another major major issue and the reason I changed the barrier to separate this space from our universe that crack right there it doesn't happen often but sometimes that crack will reopen causing a fracture and if left unattended that fracture will start ripping apart the universe at the seams now it can be repaired and any damage reversed with a spell called-"

"Nyssa come now" A mans voice commanded as I turned around I saw my father I shrank back scared.

"Felix what are you doing here" mother said with venom in her voice stepping infront of me.

"I've come to take Nyssa out with me Is that a crime?" He asked

"Since it's you yes it is" She said with even more malice in her voice

My father ignored her an turned to me and I shrank down even more.

"Nyssa come on now's your chance to make your father proud" the moment he said that I looked up at him.

"R-really?" I asked

"Nyssa do-" my mother tried to speak but suddenly stopped got up and left the room I could make out the faint blue glow on her back.

"Yes Nyssa really I promise now come on"

I reached out timidly and grabbed his hand.

"Does this mean you'll teach me how to use a sword too father?"

"Yes of course I will Nyssa" he said smiling at me.

"YAY I CAN'T WAIT." I exclaimed immediately my mood lifted I skipped down the hallway as we made our way outside to the carriage. As we rode away for the manor I could only think of two things. What my first time outside the manor would be like, and making my father proud. Shortly I coud see the city Ignia the capital of The Ignia empire it was gorgeous. I stared at it in awe seeing the diversity of colors everywhere, the shining gold towers, and The Crimson Castle. Once home to my inspiration The Crimson Queen I stared stunned by its glowing obsidian and ruby construction. I dreamed of one day getting to be there and see it up close. As we rode on for what felt like hours my father finally spoke.

"We will arrive soon Nyssa are you ready to make me proud?" Father asked

"Yes! Yes I am!" I said happy that my father would talk to me now and more ecstatic that he offered to train me.

As we arrived I noticed the city we were now in was in ruins smoking ash filled the air. Stepping out of the carriage i could see several other humans looking at me and father with a look that seemed like disgust, and in the distance I could make out a group of humans weapons drawn heading towards us.

"Nyssa I want you to go down there and bring me their hearts ok?" Father asked

"But won't that kill them?" I replied

He knelt down and put his hand on my shoulder.

"Yes it will see those people have done horrible things they're the reason this city is in ruins they're bad people so it's if you do it I'll buy you a new book on magic."

"Ok i understand." I agreed instantly firmly believing what I was about to do was ok, and besides I want to make father proud so he will look at me again. I sprinted toward the group arriving instantly I looked back seeing everyone on the cliff staring at my after image. As I looked back to the group they were all looking at me. I could see now they were clad in blue plate with the white crest of the Tirana kingdom.

"This is no place for a child what is your name young one?" A female warrior asked

"Me? I'm Nyssa FlameCrest." I replied as I said that all the soldiers stepped back and raised their weapons besides the woman infront of me.

"So you're the daughter of the first sword of Ignia that's surprising a child of such high status shouldn't be here why are you here there's no way you're here on pure coincidence or wandered her we're miles from Ignia so why?" She asked

"My Father said you were bad people and have done horrible things I'm here to bring him your hearts but you seem so nice but father would never hurt me again so he isn't lying I just want to make him proud." I said fully convinced by my fathers words.

"Oh you poor misguided child he does lie how Felix has become such a disgusting man is beyond me but I know by that look in your eye you will not be swayed knowing you're a FlameCrest you must be strong when you kill us and steal our hearts in the command tent there is a necklace with the Tirana crest on it please give it to the first princess of Tirana Chloe Tirana can I trust you with this task?" The woman asked

"You seem nice enough so I'll do it and I won't rip out you're heart but I still have to kill you you're a nice lady I'm sorry." I said as I finished speaking she threw a dagger at me but she was to slow. I dodged it blitzed behind her and grabbed her head. When I did I poured massive amounts of mana into her shattering her mana core killing her instantly. The other soldiers stared at me in horror as I picked up her sword and rested it on her chest with her hands on the hilt.

"You guys look horrified I read this is how you honorably bury warriors why do you look like that?" I asked

"Monster you're a monster." One of them said before they charged me. The first one stood no chance as he ran toward me I ran my fist through is chest. Felling his ribs shatter with the force my tiny hand was to small to grab his heart so I used gravity magic to rip it out. I was careful not to damage it after alll father wanted them. I did this again and again and again and again feeling their warm blood spash against me. A metallic smell filled my nose and a metallic taste filled my mouth it was their blood I was covered in it.

Humans why do they die so easily

I wondered as I slaughtered them all. By the time they were all dead I had killed three-thousand four hundred and thirteen people. I counted it weighing heavy on my heart but I had to make father proud.
