Reign Of The Crimson Queen

Chapter 4: The Weapon

As I stood there I had one issue and that was how I would bring the hearts and the nice ladies body back. Before I could worry about that I had to fulfill my promise to her while I still had daylight. I walked through the ruins toward their camp I was in no rush had no reason to be my mission was done. Their camp was small ten tents at most one bigger than the rest with their crest on it. It had to be the command tent as I entered I felt the presence of death similar to dread but definitely not her. I looked around and saw no one but couldn't escape the feeling someone was watching me. On the opposite side of the table I saw the necklace I was looking for it was beautiful made of sapphire, silver and white crystal. On the way back to the battlefield I heard a voice on a mountain of rubble to my right. I snuck into a building to see who it was and try to hear what they were saying. As she came into view I could see she wasn't human it was mother and child the child couldn't be much older than me if older at all. The mother had blue horns and long blue hair she sat holding her child who like her had horns except hers were purple same as her hair. Suddenly wings sprouted from the mother's back and she became wreathed in blur lighting.

"Girl you'd do best to leave you stand no chance of even touching me and if you do much as touch my daughter I will kill you where you stand besides we are not targets of Ignia's brand new weapon I am the second sword so leave me alone." The woman said.

How did she know I was here she didn't even turn Around

"I didn't come to harm anyone I was just curious as to I heard speaking out here I'm sorry your daughter is really pretty." I said with a smile on my face.

As the woman turned to face me I could see her eyes were also blue.

"Felix truly has turned into a monster hasn't he sending his daughter off too war especially when she's just a baby I feel sorry for you girl what you will witness will change you forever you will learn true suffering far earlier than you should I will give you one piece of advice never be indifferent to your enemies suffering they may be just humans sometimes but they are no less than us of divine origin they have families children and dreams just like us always remember that." She with a saddened expression on her face "Now as your superior officer I command you to finish your assigned mission."

"Uh Miss I'm not a soldier my father just took me here to do something for him." I said

"You're right girl you aren't a soldier as much as it hurts me to say and as much as I don't want it to be true you're a weapon a girl who can effortlessly kill over three thousand people at two years old and with such precision to not damage what she was told to retrieve from each of them your father will turn you into a child of war never seen before it is truly disgusting now leave me and my daughter alone I must feed her" she said looking away from me

"Ok… and your daughter she's very pretty" I said sheepishly while walking away hearing a slight chuckle from the woman. As I returned to the battlefield everything was the same blood and bone everywhere. I hid the pendant between dimensions using spectral magic. I then used gravity and wind magic to pick up the mountain of hearts and the nice ladies body and flew to the cliff where my father was stationed. As I arrived I saw all of the soldiers faces contort in horror some backing up and throwing up otheres fainted. As I landed my father patted my head and knelt down to my level.

"You've done well Nyssa you can board the carriage and head home it's dark out now so there's not much to be done." He said softly "who is she?" Father asked as he noticed the nice lady.

"She was really nice so I wanted to bury her properly."

"Didn't I tell you to get ALL of their hearts Nyssa." He said beginning to raise his voice.

"Y-yes but sh-"

As I tried to continue speaking he swung at me and confident that he would never hurt me again I didn't dodge. As his hand connected my face was on fire it hurt just as much as last time. All the soldiers turned their heads away unable to watch this. He went to kick my head but a flash of blue lightning and his leg was stopped. It was the woman from before.

"Felix that is enough she's two years old maybe you should focus on raising her instead of beating her to a pulp just because she decided to show mercy and what about Mei I know full well she did not approve this." She said

"Mara mind your business and I am your superior officer you have no power here I command you to return back to your tower." Father said sternly.

"Felix I think it best if we head back together that way we don't need to make more trips it would also give me time to talk to our newest recruit." Mara stated

My father realizing that he couldn't counter her argument reluctantly agreed. as the carriage door opened I saw a Mara's daughter sitting on the bench swinging her legs. When she saw me and my blood soaked clothes she backed into the corner her face going a ghostly white.

"MOMMA HELP!" The girl shrieked as loud as she could before the girl could finish saying help a flash of blue lightning flashed and Mara was there. Lighting dancing around her and her horns her eyes glowing a fierce blue.

"What's wrong Theresa?" Mara asked her worryingly.

"It's her she's scary." Theresa said pointing at me.

"I'm not going to do anything to you I just haven't gotten a chance to clean off yet." Hearing this she relaxed a little bit and Mara smiled at both of us.

"Look at you two maybe I should bring Theresa around a bit more it'd be nice for her to have a friend her age don't you think Felix?" Mara asked

"I don't care Mara now leave me alone." Father said looking away clearly frustrated.

"Given how he doesn't care Nyssa you know where to meet me whenever you're ready head there if we're not there just leave a sign for us ok?" Mara asked

"I would like that." I said smiling happy to finally meet someone else my age. I have so many questions how many books has she read, how long has she been training, how strong is she. I want to know everything I want to learn about her childhood.

"Hey red haired girl what's your name?" Theresa asked.

"I guess my hair is very red so accurate description my name is Nyssa it's nice to meet you Theresa." I said

"You're still scary but you're eyes are pretty your purple one matches mine" she said a small smirk forming on her face clearly she was beginning to get more comfortable.

"Theresa you know you might get to see Nyssa more often during our daily outings." Mara stated

"That's true I plan on going to-"

"NYSSA THAT'S ENOUGH" Father bellowed Mara instinctively stepped infront of her daughter Theresa shaking behind her.

"I-I'm sorry I'll be quiet. I said lowering my head and sinking back. The rest of the ride home was silent with me and Theresa stealing glances at each other making funny faces. Once me and father arrived home and said goodbye to Mara and Theresa the mode only diminished.
