Chapter 2: A New Beginning : The New Striker is Born
Kirishima reincarnates into a new world called Nexus, a land full of magic and danger. In Nexus, many cities are at war, fighting to take control of other cities to expand their territory and gain power and privilege. Some cities possess advanced technology, such as missiles and other weapons that can exterminate entire cities, while others rely on magic, each with its own unique and powerful abilities.
This world is also home to powerful creatures, like dragons, dinosaurs, goblins, and minotaurs. Some of these creatures are so strong that they can kill their prey with a single strike. They roam freely at times, while other cities hunt them to control them and make them their pawns.
In this chaotic world, a man arises to stop it. The hero is born — a skilled swordsman and warrior who fights for justice.
He is the strongest soldier in the city of Veyrath. He quickly defeats his enemies in an instant with a single slash, showing no mercy. Over time, he earns the nickname "The Heartless Striker." When other cities hear of him, some fear him, while others form alliances to protect themselves. One day, however, he disappears for a year, and no one hears from him, not even in Veyrath.
Some cities believe he is dead, After his sudden disappearance, the world fell into greater chaos. With the Hero Striker absent, the cities turned on each other, and even the destructive monster creatures began to appear and rampage.
Yet, an old prophecy foretold that the return of the Heartless Striker was coming. However, he would now have a family. His child, born under the moon, was said to be the one who would bring an end to the endless war. It was foretold that this child would wield powers greater than even the Heartless Striker's.
As the prophecy predicted, the Heartless Striker returned, now with a family. However, he was unrecognizable, as many years had passed. His hair had grown long, like the girl's, and he had lost weight. After his return, he declared that he no longer wished to fight. His new ambition was to protect his family, and it was then that Kirishima's journey began.
*PRESENT*
"Seven years ago, since the Heartless Striker appeared, and the nexus It became even more chaotic. and They can't do anything about it because the Heartless no longer wants to continue his job. Since then, he has become a regular worker in a small city called Cebu, a village surrounded by rice fields. He has become a farmer, working hard to provide food for his family."
Kirishima, who is now Arima, is 7 years old.
It was a beautiful day, and Arima was in the house with his mother, Raevhen. She was cleaning when she told him, "Arima, can you be careful? You might hurt yourself." cleaning the table
Arima, playing with a wooden sword, replied, "Not at all, Mother." The stick was slightly heavy for him, and he could barely swing it. It was hard to control, and when Arima swung it, he hit a hard object, causing it to bounce back and hit his head. Arima fell to the ground. "Aww, it hurts!" he shouted.
Raevhen immediately ran to him. "I told you to be careful with it," she said, her face full of concern mixed with anger. "Instead of playing, help me prepare our food. I'm almost done cleaning, and after that, I'll cook lunch. Your father might be heading home soon." and he's hungry
Arima stood up, set the wooden sword aside, and walked to the kitchen. "How can I become great with swords?" he murmured to himself while walking. As he was preparing for the meal,
As he was preparing for the meal, his father, Jayce Parker, arrived home.
"I'm home!" Jayce shouted as he entered the house.
Raevhen got startled, and the plates fell to the ground, breaking. Jayce shouted, "Could you not shout when you come home?" His face was full of anger, and Raevhen immediately pinched his face while scolding him.
Jayce winced. "I... it hurts!" he said.
Raevhen responded, "See what you caused? That was the last plate I needed to clean, and now it's broken! I have to clean it again, and it takes time. Instead of cooking, I'm still cleaning!" She continued shouting at Jayce while pinching his face.
Jayce quickly said, "Okay, okay! I'll clean it!"
Raevhen released her grip on Jayce's face and said, "Of course, you're the one responsible for it." She then walked toward the kitchen. "Now I'll cook."
Jayce sighed and went to their room to change his clothes.
When Raevhen was finally cooking, Arima finished what she had asked him to do. "Mother, it's already prepared," Arima said.
"Good job, Arima," Raevhen replied.
Arima then asked, "Can I go outside?" He hurried to pick up his wooden sword and quickly went outside. Raevhen, refusing at first, muttered to herself, but Arima had already run off. She felt irritated, but there was nothing she could do because he was already gone.
When Arima was outside, carrying his wooden sword, the surroundings were filled with trees, and the quietness was almost eerie. It was so silent. Arima thought to himself that this place was perfect for him to continue swinging his sword. He had a hobby of practicing every day, working hard to wield a sword because he dreamed of becoming a hero.
A few minutes later, Arima grew tired and sat down on the ground. He muttered to himself, "Why is it so hard to swing a wooden sword? It's just wood... how heavy is a real sword?" While he was complaining, he suddenly noticed someone talking to him.
A moment later, a blue screen popped up in front of him, and Arima was shocked.
[System Notification] The blue screen text appeared, and after that, the system continued:
Arima took a deep breath, trying to process what was happening. He remembered that when he was pulled away to his mother, he had seen the blue screen appear, but he could barely remember the details. He had forgotten about it until now. As the system appeared again, he suddenly recalled everything.
Then, more details appeared on the blue screen.
[Congratulations, Arima Parker!"]
["You have gained your first skill: Dusk Slash!"] [1/3]
Arima stared at the blue screen in disbelief, his small hands trembling. "D-Dusk Slash? What is that?" he muttered, the words barely registering. Earlier, he had only been swinging carelessly, his words unintentional. Yet, something had appeared in front of him. His heart raced with a bit of excitement—he had received his first skill.
[Continue] Click "Continue" to see the details below.
Arima clicked the "Continue" button on the blue screen.
the details about the Dusk Slash appeared.
"Dusk Slash: A Swift, slashing technique that cuts through the air with the power of the setting sun can be used when the user strength meet the required level
"Naniiiiii?" Arima exclaimed, his mind blown by what kind of skill it was.
More information appeared on the blue screen: [You have been successfully reincarnated in the Nexus world. Your purpose in this world is to end the endless war.]
[You have inherited a powerful skill from your father "The Heartless Striker".]
Arima's face was filled with surprise. His expression grew serious and anxious as he read the text on the blue screen. He couldn't believe that his father had a powerful skill in swordsmanship. After all, his father was just a regular farmer, pale and skinny.
Arima still couldn't believe what the system had said. His Mind was still glowing with surprise as he muttered to himself, "How can I do that?" He was only seven years old in this world and completely clueless about what he could do to achieve it.
