Chapter 21: Rin vs. Parker
Rin
"You can't be serious right now? This is really unprofessional." Anon snaps at me.
I can see where he is coming from, but I want to fight in a cage match. I was always watching UFC matches in my free time back in my other life. It's brutal, and I love it! I can't flat out say I will be fulfilling a dream of mine by doing this because it might go against what the original Rin likes.
"Your Highness, I know I didn't ask, but I would really like to try kicking his ass just once. Can I, please?" I ask as I turn to Jay.
I want to try some cute looks to help, but honestly, I think it will backfire on me. Jay stares at me in silence. I can't tell what he is thinking at all. I look at him with hopeful eyes. I was almost begging.
"Gahh, alright. Just stop looking at me with such a cute face." Jay says while avoiding my gaze.
"What? Cute? I wasn't trying to be cute." I say dumbfounded.
Jay turns and looks at me. "Yeah, that's why it's cute."
What? Is he blushing? Eh? Now I'm blushing? I'm getting all flustered.
"You, you are annoying. Shut up!" I say as I stomp off to get ready for the match.
"Ok, so since this is a completely unfair matchup considering our weight classes and the fact that you are a newbie, we will alter the rules to best fit us. We will do three 3-minute matches. The first to tap out wins that match. We will do best two out of three. Since there are no judges or referees, we will follow common sense rules. No playing dirty." Parker explains as he helps me put on my gloves properly.
"I understand how MMA matches work." I snap.
Shit, I have to be careful. I am being too prideful and showing my true self too much.
"I'm 151 lbs. That makes me lightweight, right?" I say, completely forgetting what I just told myself.
Hopefully, Rin has some basic knowledge of MMA, since he has helped Parker train occasionally.
"Yeah, uhh, that's right. I'm 180 lbs. So I am Middleweight. Two classes above you. I'll try not to break you too much." Parker chuckles.
"You'll be wise not to underestimate him," Jay says as he smacks Parker's back.
Jay seems to be feeling a little better now. He wasn't acting like himself. I was being selfish trying to fight Parker, but it appears to have improved the prince's mood.
"Anon, will you do the honors of blowing the whistle?" Parker says with heavy innuendo.
"Uh, no! Just start." Anon snaps.
I get into a defensive stance, holding my hands in front of my face.
"Fine. Your Highness, please count down. We start on, go." Parker says, as he gets in a defensive position as well.
"Alright, 3…2…1…GO!!!" Jay shouts.
He is a little too excited if you ask me.
Parker doesn't hesitate. He comes at me with a full-force jab. I dodge it, but just barely. Damn, that was fast. I felt the wind on my ear.
"Nice dodge. I bet you can't do that again." Parker smirks.
Grr, he's too relaxed. He isn't taking me seriously. I better show him something impressive to put him in his place. Parker comes at me again. I delay my dodge slightly and duck down instead of dodging to the side. I wind up my arm and bring it down on Parker's head.
-THWACK-
"Ugh!" Parker moans.
I jump back into a defensive position. Parker is quick to recover and lunges at me with another forceful jab. I don't have time to react and block it instead of dodging. Damn! That hurt! He is a professional for a reason. Before I can regain my composure, Parker bends down and grabs my legs, pushing right behind my knees and taking me down. He punches me right on the jaw. I put my arms up in front of my face, blocking his next punch. While Parker pulls back his fist for another punch, I take the opportunity to grab him by the neck and pull his head toward my chest. I pull my legs up and wrap them around his neck in a triangle choke hold. Parker tries punching me in the side to no avail. His punches get weaker, and he switches to kneeing me. Finally, after what felt like forever, Parker taps out.
