Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Amrita
"The winner of the monthly assessment is Seema and her group."
Clap
The sound of clapping resounded in the class.
"Okay. Seema, you and your group have done a good job."
"Thanks, ma'am."
"I also have good news for everyone: Next week, there will be a competition between our college and Rajendra College."
Hurray!
Excitement flickered among the students.
"Okay, okay. There's still more news: Understanding the malice of some groups, our academy has taken a drastic step to allow your bodyguards to join, but the rules will remain the same. Breaking any of these will result in suspension, and in the worst case, your career as a beast tamer will end here."
Silence descended over the classroom but soon gave way to excitement as the students realized they wouldn't face any disadvantages if they followed the regulations.
"That's all for today. You can continue on your own." Ma'am stepped outside of the class.

Overlooking the lawn while sitting on the table, his eyebrows furrowed but disappeared as a voice entered his ear.
"Sam, any plans for today?"
Staring at her, Sam shook his head.
"I want to train myself in the wild. Why not join me?"
"No need to be so humble," he said and rose from his seat.
"I'm ready."
Patting Sam's shoulder, she said, "Hey, at least reciprocate the feeling."
"Okay, miss."
These words were enough as she handed a small bag to Sam. "Thanks for helping me," she said and moved forward.
Smiling faintly, Sam followed her.
....
"Where are you? I've already reached."
"Turn left."
Before Divya now stood her friends: Sneha, Monika, Priya, and Amrita.
"I didn't make you wait too long."
"No, no. We just arrived 2 minutes ago."
"Okay. Does anyone want to share an opinion?" the group leader, Sneha, asked.
"How about..."
....
On the other side stood the bodyguards of the other girls, including Sam, who had already formed a group.
"Hey boy, your age?"
"9."
"You have to call me big brother since I'm the eldest here."
"Also me."
"Also me."
Seeing the nagging, Sam smiled and offered a suggestion. "Why not use strength instead of age?"
"I was waiting for that," one of them said, stepping forward while folding the corner of his sleeves.
"Are you sure?"
Without replying, the boy rushed at Sam, but before he could even touch the corner of Sam's shirt, Sam's index finger was on his neck.
"Now I'm the eldest here. Does anyone have a problem?"
Everyone gulped their saliva. "Isn't that too powerful?"
"Brother, your rank?"
"Beginner Certificate holder."
"We're serious."
Without bothering, he revealed a branch-pattern on the back of his left palm.
"See!"
All the bodyguards focused on the branch-pattern.
"It's real. Only one branch-pattern is lit up. But how can that..."
Smack!
Another bodyguard gave a small knock on his head. "Have you all forgotten what he's famous for?"
Realization dawned on everyone.
Coming in front of Sam with puppy eyes, one of them said, "Bro, can you share your story? We're excited."
With a faint smile, Sam disappeared, leaving behind only a faint voice. "I'm going to inspect. Better do your work properly."
Seeing his disappearing back, one of them murmured, "No wonder everyone calls him heartless. Except for his master, no one can come under his eyes."
...
Swish*
Tearing the air, the arrow penetrated the ankle of the beast.
Growl*
Growling, the beast opened its eye and turned toward the intruder.
"We hit the jackpot. That's the Silver Wolf King," Divya grinned from ear to ear.
Twisting her ear, Sneha scolded faintly, "That can be dangerous in a fight."
"Ok, leader."
With a sprint in the air, the Silver Wolf King appeared before the sight of Divya, but before it could scratch her, Monika, with a shield in her hand, appeared and deflected the attack.
Without giving a chance for the beast to stabilize, Amrita, with a swift movement, appeared and attacked with a sword.
Clank*
The claw and sword tackled each other while Divya had already shot an arrow.
Magically deflecting the arrow with its leg claw, the Silver Wolf King distanced itself from the group's range.
Howl*
Its eye glowed, and it howled in the sky.
"Continue your training without calling your beast," a soft voice reached the girl group.
Tilting her head upward, Divya and her group saw Sam casually standing on the top of the tree.
Giving a thumbs up, Divya puffed her chest proudly as if she were saying: That's my bodyguard.
With a bit of anger in its eyes, the beast howled toward Amrita, and a magical blade materialized to cut everything in its way.
With a quick reaction, Amrita evaded the attack.
The same happened with Divya, but instead of evading, she fired an arrow toward the blade, and the little that remained of the blade was evaded by her.
"That was a group attack skill. Amrita, confuse it. Divya, increase the wound area. Monika, tank that beast. Priya, be ready for support or healing," the voice of the group leader, Sneha, entered everyone's ears.
"Ok, leader," a unison voice resounded, and everyone took their own positions.
...
Standing on the top of the tree, Sam simply gave a faint smile, "That's an excellent idea given that beast is elite rank and would have two skills, one of which we've already found out, and everyone's roles are also distributed. That way, unexpected situations can be avoided."
Sam's eyes glowed, and he muttered under his breath, "But that wouldn't be so easy considering the foul smell."
...
With a swift motion, the beast moved toward Priya.
"Amrita, attack that."
Swish*
Amrita appeared behind the beast, but her eyes widened, and she quickly sprinted with all her strength, but it was already too late.
"Amrita!"
