RWBY: Oscar the gamer

Chapter 12: Your Up early

It was 6 in the morning, who in there right mind would get up so early to train, is the thought of many people will that person was who was running in the campus was Oscar, after all if doesn't complete his daily ask he would need to go the the penalty zone and he didn't want to go back tht ice place with the Bears.

Ding!

[ All daily tasks has been completed.

Oscar noded, as he head back, he was going to the gate then the door opner as it was Pyrrha

Oscar looked at Pyrrha. "Your up early"

Pyrrha looked at him as she chuckled. "It seems like I am not the only one that does Morning training".

Oscar smiled faintly, wiping the sweat from his brow as he replied, "Guess not. Though, I'd say your training is a bit more... traditional."

Pyrrha tilted her head curiously. "Traditional? What do you mean?"

He shrugged casually. "Oh, you know—sword practice, combat drills. Me? I get chased by bears in some icy nightmare if I don't keep up with my routine."

Pyrrha blinked, unsure if he was joking or serious. "Bears... in ice?"

Oscar chuckled nervously, realizing he might've said too much. "Uh, yeah, just a... figure of speech. Anyway, how about you? What kind of training are you doing this early?"

Pyrrha smiled warmly. "Mostly some sparring routines and working on my accuracy with my spear. Morning air helps me focus better."

Oscar nodded in agreement. "Makes sense. Morning feels... quieter, like it's easier to clear your mind."

Pyrrha's gaze softened as she studied Oscar. "You know, not many people are as disciplined as you, Oscar. It's admirable."

Oscar rubbed the back of his neck, looking a bit sheepish. "Just trying to keep up, I guess. Don't want to fall behind before classes even start."

Pyrrha chuckled lightly. "With that mindset, I doubt you will. Keep it up, Oscar."

As Pyrrha walked away toward her training area, Oscar sighed in relief, glad his slip about the penalty zone didn't raise too many questions. He made his way to his dorm, eager to check what rewards awaited him in the gift boxes.

"Alright," he muttered to himself, "let's see what the system's given me this time."

Oscar looked at the system as he saw a few Box's. "Open them all"

[ 3 gift Boxes have opened

1. 30 skill points have been given, these can be exchanged for skill or to buy things for the shop

2. Skill orb give, Earth spell earth pulled (Rare)

3. Dungeon Key for the next Dungeon, Location in the Emral forest, suggestion to wait to use this one

All gift boxes for the day has been opened ]

Oscar's eyes lit up as he read through the rewards. "Not bad at all," he muttered, a hint of excitement in his voice. He focused on the system panel, carefully analyzing his loot.

"Thirty skill points," he murmured thoughtfully, "could come in handy for upgrading my stats or picking up something new from the shop." He made a mental note to check the shop later.

His attention then turned to the Skill Orb. "Earth spell, Earth Pull... Rare, huh?" He tapped the screen to read its description.

[ Earth Pull (Rare):

A spell that allows the user to manipulate the ground to create sudden upward pulls of earth, ensnaring or unbalancing enemies. Effective in combat and utility scenarios. Requires minimal mana cost for basic use but scales with proficiency ]

Oscar nodded approvingly. "Looks useful. A good addition to my arsenal." He quickly absorbed the orb, feeling a faint warmth as the knowledge of the spell etched itself into his mind.

Finally, his eyes landed on the Dungeon Key. The system's note about waiting caught his attention. "Emerald Forest, huh?" he mused, recalling that the location was part of Beacon's territory. "Guess I'll need to level up and prepare before tackling that one. No need to rush into a death trap."

Satisfied with his rewards, Oscar closed the system interface and leaned back against his bed. "Alright, time to plan my next move. Classes should start soon, and I need to balance my training with... whatever else this crazy academy throws at me."

As he pondered his next steps, the first rays of sunlight crept through the window, signaling the start of another day at Beacon Academy.

Oscar then went to the system store as he looked around seeing the many items. "I don't need any potion not yeat that is, my sword is getting old should buy one and gun as well, you know what System pick for me

[ As you wish host ]

Oscar watched as the system's interface began scrolling through countless items at lightning speed. He crossed his arms, curious to see what it would recommend.

Oscar smirked as he opened his inventory, pulling out the Midnight Fang first. The blade gleamed in the early morning light, its dark finish giving it a sleek, menacing look. "Nice. This will definitely replace my old blade."

He then summoned the Crimson Trigger, its polished design fitting comfortably in his hand. "A perfect sidearm," he remarked, spinning it once before holstering it. Finally, he checked the Dust Pack and stored it for future use.

"Alright," Oscar said, gripping the Midnight Fang. "Time to test these out after class. Things are looking up."

With his new gear in tow, Oscar headed out, ready to take on whatever Beacon had in store.

Oscar then went to lunch room, the chef has made feast for all the skill [Stealth] and then used [Decoy Mastery] both skilled was Level 10, do to training them alot, he then put half the food in his inventory before the chef noticed Food heals him and it was before the other wake up so the chef had time.

If he was a dick he would have taken all.thr food, now he had a lot of breakfast in his inventory to heal him, after a while everyone woke up got dresses, and then ate ready for the test.

Everyone went to the locker room as they got the weapon, Oscar pulled out Midnight Fang and Crimson trigger from his Inventory but made it look like he got his weapons from his locker.

Then he saw Pyrrha and Weiss talking to eachother then Jaune he didn't hear what they said, as he walked passed them not carrying much. He then made way to the test are as so did everyone, as he stood on a platform.

After a while Ozpin came and Explained the test, it was simple they will sent tkntrh Emral forest and they will find a relick for each of them he then explained that who ever they met there eyes with will there partner for 4 years.

Ruby then raised her hand. "Um sir, are there going to Grimm here".

Ozpin looked at her as he took a drink of his coffee. "No, we have made sure while anime in the other hand can't promise".

Oscar looked at him as he spoke. "Will I gess that is good".

Ozpin then spoke looking at all the student's. "Also this year we have uneven amout of student".

Oscar looked at as he spoke what was in everyone mind. "What is that supposed to mean".

Ozpin then spoke as he looked at all of them. "One team will have 5 members, and one will left without a partner".

Ruby sighed, feeling like it was her fault thinking Oscar was the clear one shouted by Beacon, as for Oscar he blamed him self after all he caught Qrow eyes so he was the one in fault.

As then everyone one was longed up, basically landings strategy. Oscar flyed for a bit he pulled out his sword stabbed into a tree. Which in hindsight was very risky he could have lost his arm, but then he forgot he was Basically a Video game character and then he broke tinthr tree he blames his strk stats for that as he strapped into another tree this one didn't break

Oscar hung from the sturdy branch of the second tree, taking a moment to catch his breath. He muttered to himself, "Note to self: don't underestimate my strength stats... again." Looking around, he could see the emerald canopy stretching for miles, the soft morning light breaking through the gaps in the leaves.

He activated [Stealth], blending seamlessly into the surroundings. If there were any Grimm—or anything else—he didn't want to be caught off guard.

"Alright," he said to himself, pulling up his system interface. "Time to find this relic and, hopefully, a partner."

As Oscar navigated the forest, he heard the faint sound of movement nearby. He stopped, crouching low and peering through the foliage. Two figures were running through the forest—Ruby and Weiss. Ruby's bright red cape flared behind her as she sped ahead, Weiss following with her usual grace, though her annoyed expression was clear even from a distance.

"Of course they'd end up together," Oscar muttered. "Typical opposites attract."

He decided to avoid them, not wanting to get roped into their dynamic just yet. Instead, he focused on his objective, activating [Tracker Instincts Lv. 5] to locate any unusual signs that might lead to a relic.

A while later, Oscar stumbled upon a clearing where he saw Pyrrha and Jaune. Pyrrha was patiently explaining something to Jaune, who was fumbling with his sword and shield. Oscar couldn't help but chuckle softly. "That guy's hopeless... but he's got spirit."

He moved past them, keeping his presence concealed, until he heard a growl.

Grimm.

Turning sharply, he spotted a Beowolf prowling nearby, its glowing red eyes fixed on an unaware Jaune. "Oh, come on," Oscar muttered, gripping Midnight Fang. He debated whether to step in or let Pyrrha handle it, but Jaune was too close to getting mauled.

Without hesitation, Oscar leaped from the bushes, slashing at the Beowolf with a single fluid motion. Midnight Fang's blade glowed faintly as it cut through the Grimm with ease. The creature disintegrated into ash before it could even react.

Jaune and Pyrrha stared at him in surprise.

"Uh… thanks?" Jaune said, still trying to process what had just happened.

Oscar sheathed Midnight Fang, giving them a nod. "Don't mention it. Keep your guard up." Without waiting for a response, he turned and disappeared into the forest again.

As he ventured deeper into the forest, Oscar finally found what he was looking for—a set of pedestals holding relics. Each relic was a small, carved emblem, glowing faintly.

"Alright," he muttered, walking up to the pedestals. "Let's see..."

Before he could grab one, the sound of footsteps behind him caught his attention. Turning, he saw Blake, her golden eyes narrowing as she approached.

"You're fast," she said, a small smirk on her face.

Oscar shrugged. "Just lucky, I guess."

Blake looked at the relics, then at Oscar. "Guess that makes us partners."

He raised an eyebrow. "You sure about that? There's still a chance someone else could show up."

Blake picked up a relic, inspecting it briefly before meeting his gaze. "I don't think so."

Oscar chuckled, picking up his own relic. "Well, looks like we're stuck together then."

Blake nodded, her smirk turning into a small smile. "Let's make the most of it."

As they stood together, ready to face whatever came next, Oscar couldn't help but think that this test might not be so bad after all.

They then heard something, and then went to help, and they saw Yang and will she was destroying the Grimm, as she did two tryed to sneak up, but two bullets was enough to take them down, with them coming from Blake and Oscar.

Yang then looked at both of them as she then spoke. "You have to bee kidding, I am the one with out a partner".

Oscar srugged as he looked at her. "I don't know, there are probably other people".

Yang sighed, brushing her hair back as she crushed the last remaining Grimm under her boot. "Yeah, well, knowing my luck, they'll probably be paired up by the time I find them."

Blake crossed her arms and gave a faint smirk. "Maybe you should've gotten here faster."

"Hey!" Yang shot back, half-joking. "I was busy clearing out the Grimm buffet over here. You're welcome, by the way."

Oscar chuckled, reloading Crimson Trigger. "To be fair, those two sneaking up on you might've ruined your streak."

Yang waved it off, grinning. "Please, I had it under control. But... thanks, I guess."

Blake tilted her head. "Guess we could stick together for now. You're better with a team than alone, right?"

Yang brightened up, placing her hands on her hips. "Well, if you insist. Looks like you're stuck with me, partner or not."

Oscar rolled his eyes, a small smile tugging at his lips. "Just try not to blow everything up, alright?"

"Can't make any promises," Yang quipped, walking ahead.

As they started moving toward the deeper part of the forest, Blake glanced at Oscar. "Think she'll actually follow a plan?"

Oscar sighed dramatically. "We'll be lucky if she doesn't punch the relic out of someone's hand."

Yang turned, walking backward as she shot them a playful wink. "You know me too well already!"

The trio ventured onward, Oscar keeping his [Tracker Instincts] active, Blake scanning the trees for threats, and Yang leading with her boundless energy. Whatever the test threw at them next, they were more than ready for it—or so they hoped.
