Chapter 5: Acquiring the First Chaos Treasure
Oliver continues to wander through the chaos, hoping to meet another god to devour.
However, the chaos was vast.
He roamed for a long time without coming across any other Gods.
Just as he began to feel disappointed, something caught his attention.
The vastness of his soul power spread out around him, and he noticed that hundreds of thousands of kilometers away, deep within the chaotic space, there were hidden ripples.
These fluctuations were so small that if it wasn't for his powerful soul force, he was afraid that he wouldn't have noticed them at all.
What's more, the fluctuations were extremely far away.
"Whoosh!"
Oliver's enormous form shot toward the source of the disturbance like lightning.
His speed was so fast that it seemed as though he was tearing through the chaos itself, creating a massive wave.
Soon, he arrived at the location.
"What is this?"
His eyes widened. Before him spun a chaotic mass of air, about the size of a human fist. It seemed to be wrapped around something peculiar, emitting a mysterious aura and a unique fluctuation of law.
The tiny object seemed as small as a speck of dust compared to its four million kilometer long body. If the power of his soul hadn't been so immense, he would never have noticed it.
Buzz!
With a thought, Oliver gently maneuvered the chaotic energy and tapped it, cracking the outer layer of chaotic air. Fortunately, his power was well controlled and the object inside was unharmed.
What emerged was a crystal-like bottle. In the midst of the pitch-black chaos, the bottle gleamed brightly, drawing Oliver's attention.
"What is this?"
Using his soul power, Oliver brought the tiny bottle close to examine it.
Though small, it exuded a mysterious aura, as if it contained some special cosmic law.
"This seems to be a treasure born out of chaos," Oliver mused.
In the chaos, many magical things were born—such as divine races with strange forms—and his enormous ancient serpent was one of them.
Of course, beyond living creatures, there were also many inanimate objects.
This bottle, he suspected, was one such object, possibly a manifestation of some kind of power or rule.
If it were placed before magicians in the novels he'd read in his past life, it would surely spark a fierce scramble—much like the One Ring in The Lord of the Rings.
"Found something good!"
Oliver's excitement surged. The God of Creation, Aether, possessed a Chaos treasure called the Rule Melting Furnace. Now, Oliver had his own Chaos Treasure.
But he wondered—how did this one compare to the Rule Melting Furnace?
Moreover, how should he control and use it?
As if sensing his doubts, a mechanical beep rang out from the Book of the Chaos Era.
[Please use your soul power to attune with it, imbuing it with your unique aura.]
Attune with it using soul power?
Oliver's mind cleared. It was like a kitten marking its territory by rubbing against someone to leave its scent.
Of course, bonding with soul power was much more complex.
Oliver immediately began to try and pour his soul power into the crystal bottle.
His soul power was so vast that invading such a tiny object required great care.
He was worried that he might shatter the delicate bottle if he wasn't careful.
Luckily, his soul power was not only immense but also finely controlled.
After what felt like years of careful effort, Oliver finally felt the bottle tremble slightly.
His soul power resonated with it, synchronizing perfectly.
Now, this treasure belonged to him.
[Congratulations, you have obtained the item: Wishing Bottle.]
The mechanical beep sounded again.
Wishing Bottle? The name sounded rather common.
Oliver muttered to himself, expanding the item to view more detailed information.
[Name: Wishing Bottle
Item Rating: Chaos Grade
Effect: A bottle that can guide the way and fulfill wishes. By making a wish upon it, the bottle will guide you on the path to fulfill that wish.]
[Special Note: The more difficult the wish, the more it will consume you.]
Incredible. This effect seemed immensely powerful!
Oliver was shocked. It was worthy of being a treasure born from chaos. It reminded him of a manga from his previous life, where the machine-like Seven Dragon Balls could grant wishes, much like a divine dragon.
Of course, this Wishing Bottle couldn't directly grant wishes, but it could guide the way to fulfill them. In that sense, it was slightly inferior to the Shenlong.
However, unlike the Seven Dragon Balls, he didn't need to gather seven of them to make a wish. This alone made it far superior.
Of course, the manga was fictional, while the Wishing Bottle was a real treasure.
Oliver, now beyond excited, felt like dancing.
He was certain now. This little bottle, with its deceptively simple name, was definitely a Chaos Treasure to rival Aether's Rule Melting Furnace—or perhaps even rarer.
Was it a coincidence that his first Chaos Treasure was so powerful?
But after careful thought, Oliver realized it wasn't so strange after all.
Within the Chaos World, there were many unimaginable treasures—far beyond what ordinary magical worlds or even mythological ages could fathom.
This was an era before the universe had truly been born. Every ordinary creature in chaos was a being of incredible power.
Just as in the dinosaur age, when even a random dinosaur dwarfed humans, the treasures of the Chaos world were similarly vast. Many treasures considered rare and powerful in ordinary magical realms might not be that rare here.
Thinking this over, Oliver's excitement gradually subsided.
"Within the chaos, there must be more treasures waiting for me to find! And now, I can use the Wishing Bottle to guide me toward even more super treasures!"
