Chapter 6: Chaos Gemstone
Theoretically, Oliver could rely on the Wishing Bottle to find all the treasures in Chaos!
He felt a surge of excitement again.
This bottle—it was simply amazing.
The Chaos World was unimaginably vast, beyond anything a human could fathom.
Even though Oliver now had the form of a super giant snake, measuring four million kilometers long and capable of speeds that bordered on the limit of possibility, exploring the Chaos World could take an eternity—far beyond any conceivable span of time.
In fact, the Chaos World might not even have any true borders. Just finding small treasures within such an unfathomably vast space could take unimaginable amounts of time.
But with the Wishing Bottle, the search for treasures in the Chaos World was suddenly much easier.
Oliver's luck seemed truly extraordinary!
"What should I wish for first?"
He fell into contemplation.
The Wishing Bottle only promised to guide Oliver to the path that would fulfill his wish. If his wish was outrageous, the journey would surely be long, winding, and strange.
Moreover, the panel clearly stated that the more difficult the wish, the more it would consume him.
So, he needed to choose wisely.
After much thought, he finally made his wish.
"I want to find the God of Creation, Aether!"
Oliver used his soul power to pour this wish into the crystal bottle. The moment he did, a powerful sense of unease washed over him.
The Chaos energy, his soul power, even his very flesh seemed to be rapidly drained by the Wishing Bottle, as if, in a matter of seconds, the bottle could absorb his entire four-million-kilometer-long body into oblivion!
"Damn it, stop!"
His face turned pale as he desperately severed the connection, forcing the Wishing Bottle's effect to end. Even then, he felt a wave of weakness.
The Chaos Power he had accumulated over the past few days had been at 230 points. Now, in an instant, most of it was gone.
More importantly, his physical size had shrunk by a million kilometers, down to three million kilometers.
If the panel had a life value attribute, it would show that a quarter of his life force had been drained.
The thought was chilling. Could Aether really be that difficult to find?
Oliver couldn't help but wonder if it was because Aether's strength was so overwhelming.
Just how powerful was Aether now?
Had he reached a deity rating of 30, 40, or even 90?
According to the information in the Book of the Chaos Era, when Aether reached level 99, he would begin to create the world, opening up the so-called universe. That would lead to a cataclysmic event for the God Race in Chaos, akin to the extinction of the dinosaurs!
"It seems I'm still too weak. If I could grow stronger, I might be able to bear the cost of fulfilling this wish," Oliver thought, his mood darkening.
It seemed the Wishing Bottle wasn't as powerful as he had imagined.
He would need to start with smaller, more achievable wishes.
"Wishing Bottle, please guide me to the best treasure nearby!"
This time, Oliver chose a much simpler wish, one that should be easy to fulfill.
Boom!
A powerful suction force pulled at him again.
However, this time, the cost was something Oliver could manage.
In just a few breaths, his size shrank by three hundred thousand kilometers, and his life force dropped by about a tenth. His remaining 110 points of Chaos Power were reduced by 30 points.
Buzz!
The Wishing Bottle vibrated, and a shimmering light shot out, stretching into the distance as if showing Oliver the way!
Of course, Oliver could sense that only he, as the owner of the bottle, could see the shimmering light.
"Let's see what treasures we can find!"
Oliver's excitement grew as his enormous snake body moved through the chaos, lightning fast.
Seven days later, Oliver continued his journey through the chaos. Along the way, he devoured the chaos energy surrounding him.
His size gradually began to recover, approaching four million kilometers once more!
The flesh he had lost could be replenished quickly.
If he wanted to increase the upper limit of his size, it would take far more time, but recovering from flesh and blood loss was relatively easy.
After another seven days, Oliver had fully regained his original size. According to the game system, his life value was back to full!
However, the Chaos Power he had lost was not so easy to recover. Over the past days, his Chaos Power had risen from 80 to just 81.
And at this moment, Oliver followed the guidance of the wishing bottle and arrived at a strange place, where it was pitch black, but a huge chaotic vortex blocking his way.
Oliver used his soul power to observe it, and instantly realized that the vortex before him was extremely vast, with a diameter of a billion kilometers long, and could be said to be boundless!
The churning chaotic energy seemed to have formed a sea, tumbling, as if it was about to unleash a tsunami or a hurricane at any moment, and it appeared that no Divine Race could possibly get close to this vortex! Anyone who approached would surely die!
But Oliver soon noticed that the shimmering light from the Wishing Bottle pointed to a very specific direction, the only path through the vortex's center.
This vortex was like an immense hurricane.
Even though hurricanes were dangerous, at their center, there was always a small eye of calm, safe from the destructive force surrounding it.
And so, the shimmering light from the Wishing Bottle pointed directly to that eye!
Without hesitation, Oliver followed the light's guidance and disappeared into the vortex.
Sure enough, despite the violent chaos energy outside, the eye of the storm was completely still.
He continued deeper into the calm center, and after about ten days, Oliver finally arrived at the heart of the eye of the wind!
There, in the center, he saw an extraordinary sight.
A round stone, glowing with strange rays of light, rested before him. It resembled a gray gemstone.
Within the light, the most primal, chaotic laws flickered!
This seemed to be a treasure tied to the rules of chaos.
Oliver wondered, was this gemstone the source of the tumultuous energy that had created the chaotic storm outside?
"This treasure must be incredibly valuable!"
Excitement surged within Oliver as he gazed at the strange gemstone.
