Chapter 151: Chapter 152: The Trial Begins
Despite Makoto's disdain for the hypocritical behavior of "playing the victim while feigning virtue," when he was forced into such a situation himself...
Well... it had its charms after all.
Sometimes, rather than taking the initiative, it was better to let others take the lead.
Compared to Makoto actively volunteering to assist Yoruichi in rescuing Kisuke and the other Hollowfied Shinigami, wasn't it much better to let Yoruichi repeatedly and earnestly request his help? This way, he could appear as if he were making a great sacrifice, all while Yoruichi would owe him a favor.
Under Yoruichi's arrangements, Makoto headed directly to the underground training area where she had once honed his Shunpo Techniques.
Currently, the Hollowfied Shinigami were supposed to be held in the Ninth Division prison. However, since the captain, Kensei Muguruma, and vice-captain, Mashiro Kuna, were Hollowfied, there was no way Central 46 would keep them in their own division's custody.
Thus, the Central 46 had temporarily confined the Hollowfied Shinigami in a secluded section of the Maggot's Nest, under the Third Division of the Omnitsukido.
This arrangement provided Yoruichi, the commander of the Omnitsukido, with the perfect opportunity. With a single order bypassing Central 46's oversight, she delivered all the Hollowfied Shinigami right to Makoto.
In front of him lay the unconscious forms of three captains and four vice-captains, neatly arranged in two rows. Makoto's gaze could not help but flicker with excitement.
Captains: Rose Otoribashi, Shinji Hirako, Kensei Muguruma.
Vice-Captains: Sentaro Kotsubaki, Mashiro Kuna, Hiyori Sarugaki, Lisa Yadomaru.
Though Makoto could accumulate one Seed of the Forest daily, he had realized that ordinary Shinigami provided minimal spiritual energy. Thus, he had begun selecting higher-ranking souls to sow his seeds during his medical rounds.
As a result, while he hadn't amassed an army of seeds, he had more than enough to meet the needs of these Hollowfied Shinigami.
Still, wary of potential surveillance devices left behind by Kisuke in the underground chamber, Makoto refrained from diving straight into his plan. Instead, he genuinely began treating the Hollowfied Shinigami.
However, unlike the meticulous care he offered Yoruichi, these Shinigami received only basic treatment. After all, aside from the seed transaction, Makoto saw little reason for future interactions with them.
Given that Urahara's Hogyoku had already suppressed their Hollowfication, Makoto needed only to separate and extract the Hollow energy clashing with their spiritual bodies.
Out of respect for their dignity, Makoto divided the group by gender before removing their Shihakusho.
On one side were the three male captains, joined by Sentaro Kotsubaki.
"Ugh… this is unpleasant to look at," Makoto muttered, gazing at the pile of limbs before him. Rose Otoribashi, Shinji Hirako, and Sentaro Kotsubaki were all slim and lean, with Kensei Muguruma—a muscular brute—pressed awkwardly on top.
Should he put Muguruma at the bottom of the pile instead? No, that would only make things worse.
Moving to the female group, the scene was thankfully much more orderly.
Here lay Mashiro Kuna, Lisa Yadomaru, and Hiyori Sarugaki.
Mashiro was an adorable, lively girl. Lisa had a poised, no-nonsense elegance, with striking proportions. As for Hiyori… she didn't merit much mention.
Hiyori, in fact, would blend seamlessly into the men's group.
Shaking off these irrelevant thoughts, Makoto donned his medical gloves and began the treatment.
This was undoubtedly a significant challenge for him—taking on seven at once, especially after already working tirelessly for an entire day and night. Between being drained by Unohana and widening Yoruichi's spiritual capacity as a favor, he was utterly exhausted.
But such was the life of a healer. The endless grind of fatigue and pressure was simply part of the job.
Even as Makoto's vision blurred, and dazzling white spots clouded his sight, he adjusted his spiritual energy flow through Spirit Particle Control, forcing himself to continue.
Though his spiritual exhaustion could be alleviated, his mental fatigue was palpable. Yet, for the sake of his patients, the Hollowfied Shinigami, and Yoruichi's satisfaction, Makoto remained resolute.
Focused on Lisa Yadomaru, Makoto picked up his scalpel, enveloping her in the green glow of his healing energy.
"Let's start with Lisa..."

Meanwhile, in the Central 46 chambers, Kisuke Urahara's trial had officially commenced.
The courtroom, resembling a stepped auditorium, was shrouded in darkness. A single beam of light illuminated the accused—Kisuke Urahara, Tessai Tsukabishi, and Hachigen Ushoda—at the center of the room.
The Central 46 judges sat in layered circular rows, their faces obscured by white cloths bearing their designated numbers, shielding their identities from the accused.
The implication: Sinners are unworthy of beholding the visage of sages.
Unbeknownst to either Central 46 or the accused, two uninvited guests had infiltrated the courtroom, silently observing the proceedings from the shadows—Sosuke Aizen and Kaname Tosen.
As the solemn trial began, a mocking smirk played across Aizen's lips.
"Tosen, it's a pity you cannot see. Otherwise, you would realize how grotesque this spectacle truly is..." Aizen said, his voice tinged with disdain.
